  I can’t help but frown even as Astrid and I walk through the streets of The Retreat in disguises. With both of us using special items to hide our power and identify result from others.

  “You’re not still upset, right?” Astrid asks while holding onto my arm and giving me a sad look that isn’t quite a pout.

  I don’t bother answering her since she clearly already knows.

  After all, she ditched me, leaving me stuck handling thousands of representatives from other nations all on my own. All without even telling me about it beforehand.

  Normally I would’ve just teleported away immediately, but we even made a bet earlier in the day about me helping meet with ‘a few people’ to aid The Retreat . Which was supposed to be ‘a very simple and short task’.

  Quoting Astrid word for word.

  Then she led me to a room full of thousands of people, each of whom were from different nations.

  I tried to deal with them for a total of ten minutes before giving up and teleporting away. To Astrid’s immense amusement.

  “Next time you pull something like that I’m going to go on a live broadcast to tell everyone about your first love,” I bluntly threaten, making Astrid stiffen up a little as we walk arm and arm through the market. Passing by one high-tech stall after another. With each stall having holograms above it advertising their different wares.

  “You’ll never see another representative again,” Astrid boldly states with a nod of her head as we continue walking through the market. Just looking at the stalls and searching for anything we might want to buy.

  It’s been a very long time since we’ve just gone out shopping like this.

  I’ve never been a fan of shopping in general, but Astrid likes browsing from time to time.

  She doesn’t like doing it alone though, so she would always drag me along like this.

  So we continue going through the marketplace looking at different stalls. All while I feel fatigue I didn’t realize I have begin to wash away.

  Because this is the first time I’ve done something that has no goal and no fighting in ages.

  After going around shopping for a while, Astrid takes me to a place that Alara recommended to her. Where we get massages.

  Although when we strip down and reveal our real selves behind the disguises the person giving me a massage appears so shocked her eyes look like they’re about to pop right out of their sockets. Which is kind of amusing.

  Enough that I can’t help but chuckle before the massage.

  The massage itself is a full body massage after a dip in a bath full of various magical and herbal remedies. All meant to help soothe and relax the body and mind.

  Amusingly enough, in the steam of the bath and without our clothes, there’s actually one point where the staff find it difficult to tell apart who is who between me and Astrid. Specifically when our eyes are closed.

  So we still look identical enough beyond our attire, eyes, and slight difference in hair color to be mistaken for each other.

  Something about that makes me feel a little happy.

  Of course, this is without identifying us. Since they figure it out after doing that.

  And with both of us holding back our energy and mana.

  Energy in my case and mana in Astrid’s case.

  Regardless, the massage ends up feeling incredibly nice. So relaxing that I fall asleep in the middle of it without a worry in my mind.

  I am eventually woken up by Astrid to find myself lying down on a very comfortable chair next to Astrid. And after spending a little more time relaxing in it, the two of us get dressed and leave the place to continue our journey through the markets.

  We purchase a couple items from the market before going to see a movie. Although I end up falling asleep in the middle of it since it’s a romance movie.

  Then we head back to Astrid’s place, closing the day with a nice dinner made by the staff at her home.

  After the next morning though, I begin to work on my next little plan. Which is a very simple one.

  It will also help me level more than one skill at once.

  First I begin teleporting through the Dimensional Blocks in search of people and creatures who can help me gain new adaptations for Quantum Adaptation. Leveling up both skills in the process and granting me a lot more adaptations.

  Making things easier for me since it’ll make my body resistant and possibly even immune to more and more attacks over time.

  All while I wait for that archfiend to finally leave the stupid dungeon he’s been in for ages now.

  Even after several months pass, the guy doesn’t leave the dungeon.

  But after entire years pass by waiting for him to leave, I eventually come to a decision of my own. Deciding not to just patiently wait anymore for him to kill the boss of the dungeon and unlock it.

  I haven’t tried this before, but I may be able to cut my way into the dungeon with my True Form and my scythe.

  Maybe.

  At least, I hope I will be able to.

  I glance at the leaderboards while teleporting over towards the dungeon.

  It’s pretty clear by these results who has managed to gain control of a Tier 5 dungeon.

  Well, that and the fact that all three of the others at the cap of Tier 5 are still inside of their Tier 5 dungeons.

  As for the rankings? They are set based on when each person reached the cap of Tier 5.

  Either way, the archfiend is the only one I can really target still. Even after years have passed since the first Tier 5 dungeon appeared.

  So I continue teleporting towards the dungeon until I finally arrive.
