Outside of the Dungeon
Altarian frowns as he stands guard outside of the dungeon alongside several other guards. With each and every one being at the very least Tier 5.
They’ve been alternating out with dozens of other Tier 5 soldiers for the entire duration of the time the archfiend has been in the dungeon. And while some would like to simply abandon the post, all of them are too afraid of the archfiend himself to disobey his orders.
Or to do anything against him.
Because every single one of the archfiend’s soldiers has experienced his hellfire at least once in their service in the form of a threat.
Making absolutely certain that they never want to experience it again.
Altarian isn’t certain why there needs to be guards though since no one else can enter the dungeon while a team is already inside of it. Even if that team is just a single person.
Or at least, he felt that way until several groups of armed forces from enemy nations arrived a month ago and began attacking. Clearly planning to set up an ambush for the archfiend the moment he gets out of the dungeon.
It wasn’t difficult for Altarian and the other guards to handle the enemies though, and not many new enemies appeared after that.
Leaving guard duty feeling boring.
Altarian lets out a yawn as he stands in front of the entrance next to a couple of his friends. Just waiting for the change in shift.
But only a few minutes before that very shift change, Altarian and the other fiends around the dungeon begin to hear thunder echoing in the distance. Making them turn to find purple flashes of glitchy lightning getting closer and closer.
Altarian’s eyes widen in shock, and he’s not the only one as the other guards all show the same reaction.
Meanwhile they sense an immense power rapidly approaching before the source of the power becomes visible with a glitchy teleport into their view. Only for said source to vanish again and reappear even closer to them.
Over and over again, she repeatedly teleports closer and closer until she finally appears right in front of Altarian and the others.

All without even so much as sparing them a glance.
She just stares at the dungeon and ignores Altarian and the other fiends as if he and the others weren’t even here.
But Altarian and his fellow fiends are all too terrified to do anything about it. Especially when an even more immense power rushes out of her and a pillar shoots up into the air as she transforms into her True Form. Growing wings and a horn as her armor changes and she gains a scythe.
Forget the archfiend, the Quantum Reaper is even more terrifying…
He and the other fiends silently watch as the Quantum Reaper slowly makes her way between them towards the dungeon. And none of the fiends make any moves to stop her.
Because they know it would be pointless.
She could kill them all with a flick of her hand. And none of them are worried about the dungeon since no one can enter it.
The worst she can do is stand outside of the dungeon waiting for the archfiend to leave it. Which wouldn’t even be bad from what they know of the archfiend’s goals.
He’s trying to antagonize her into a battle as it is. All so he can feel pain from their fight.
So her waiting outside for him would be the best case scenario in his eyes.
Not in their eyes though.
Altarian doesn’t want to be stuck waiting with a being as terrifying as her.
With that in mind, all the fiends stand in silence while waiting to see what the Quantum Reaper does.
Only to be shocked when she suddenly swings her scythe around before slashing the blade right at the dungeon entrance. Cutting into it with ease and opening up a rift in the gate.
Then they all watch in shock when she swings her scythe back around, making the scythe vanish in a glitchy disappearance as she puts her hands in her pockets and walks into the rift.
Entering the dungeon despite the dungeon having been sealed to new entrants.
The instant she enters the dungeon, the immense waves energy she was emitting all vanish at once. Leaving the fiends confused and stunned into silence for a while.
Both due to the sudden lack of pressure and the fact that the Quantum Reaper just cut through System boundaries and entered a sealed dungeon without any struggle.
Proving that she may just be greater than the System itself.
Or just strong enough to defy the System’s control.
Silence fills the area outside of the dungeon for several minutes before some of the guards begin to move towards the open rift in the dungeon’s entrance. Only for said rift to begin sealing itself up without giving anyone a chance to enter it.
Leaving the dungeon once again sealed to any new entrants.
Altarian stares blankly at the dungeon for several minutes before turning around. Then he stares out into the distance for a while as a single possibility passes through his mind.
And he’s not the only one thinking of this very possibility.
The possibility that the archfiend may never make it out of the dungeon.
After all, he may stand a chance if he were to reach Ascendant Tier while the Quantum Reaper is still at Tier 5, but if they fight at the same Tier, then there’s no chance of victory.
Everyone knows that at this point.
No chance at all.
But even with that knowledge, Altarian can’t bring himself to even consider the possibility of the terrifying archfiend dying.
The thought just seems to unrealistic to happen. No matter how likely it may be.
So he and the other fiends continue watching and waiting outside of the dungeon.
