“Did you know Astrid talks in her sleep?” Ethan asks before shaking his head and muttering, “No, of course you’d know. You’re twins.” He then leans forward in the seat in front of my bed, where I’m sitting with my eyes closed training my Energy Manipulation. Or trying to train it. “The more important question is, do you know how to get her to stop talking in her sleep?”
I feel what I swear is a vein throbbing in my forehead from this idiot’s nonstop chatter.
If anyone needs to stop talking it’s you.
He and some other people randomly started visiting and bothering me during my training over the last year. Something about me spending too long just sitting inside training nonstop without talking to anyone.
And every time Ethan stops by, it’s always to ask me something about Astrid.
Which gets really awkward if he’s asking something like this. Since the two have been sleeping together regularly for at least half a year now.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be that surprised if they end up getting married any month now.
I was genuinely surprised by the fact that they’re actually staying together at first. Since I was expecting it to just be some sort of fling. A quick relationship that doesn’t last.
Those are common between powerful people after all.
But nope. They’re still together after all this time.
And they look like they’ll stay together.
“Lexi? Should I take your silence as a ‘you don’t know either’?” Ethan asks, once again making that probably imaginary vein throb in anger. “You should probably know that some of the things she talks about in her sleep might be a little embarrassing for you.”
That makes me blink open my eyes with a slight frown on my face.
“Embarrassing?” I ask, feeling slightly tense at his words.
“Like your bathing habits from when you two were kids,” Ethan states while avoiding my gaze.
Oh, really…
“To get her to shut up, grab a pillow and stuff it into her face,” I bluntly answer. “She is the deepest sleeper you can imagine and won’t even wake up from that. But it will shut her up for the rest of the night.”

Ethan suddenly looks really happy as he takes my hand and says, “Thank you so much!”
“You should also know that she used to cry and laugh in her sleep as a kid and would cling onto me like a hug pillow whenever she had a dream,” I proceed to tell him with a smile on my face. Getting revenge on her for her sleep talking about my old habits.
He looks rather happy to hear it.
So I proceed to tell a few other stories that she would find embarrassing.
Because twins can be petty.
And right as I’m telling him about the time she ran screaming at the sight of a cockroach when we were just eight years old, Astrid decides to enter the room.
Of course, she doesn’t look very happy when she hears.
“Lexi,” Astrid says with a calm smile on her face.
“Sorry, I’m busy now,” I state while avoiding her gaze and using the new spell I managed to make over the past year to teleport them both out. Something I made with Energy Manipulation.
It’s not anywhere near as good or efficient as Quantum Displacement on myself, but it at least lets me teleport other people now.
I still can’t teleport non-living objects though.
Although something tells me that I’ll be able to do that when I get Quantum Displacement to Ascendant Tier.
That’ll be nice.
Anyway, after teleporting the two outside of my house, I go ahead and set up a barrier around my room. Which is pretty inefficient when it comes to training my Energy Manipulation, but it’s probably for the best that I keep this barrier up for a while.
At least until Astrid has blown off steam using Ethan as a punching bag.
This was all her fault though. She’s the one who started it by sleep talking about me.
Besides. Ethan was clearly enjoying the stories I was telling him.
I chuckle at that thought.
Honestly, I wonder when their wedding will be?
Also, I kind of want to be there when he tells Lucas about their getting married.
Because that’ll be amusing to see.
Although Mom would be the opposite. She would be upset if they didn’t get married at this rate.
It was kind of amusing to see Ethan and Mom meet though. Since Ethan was acting incredibly respectful of her.
I’m used to seeing Ethan literally apathetically disregard everyone except Class S species. So suddenly seeing him practically bending over backwards to be as respectful as possible to someone was so bizarre.
On that note, I wonder if Astrid and Ethan will ever have kids?
It would be interesting to have a niece or nephew to spoil.
I glance to the side when Luna suddenly pops her head over the window in bat form while looking around the room. Almost like she sensed me thinking about spoiling some other kid. Then I let her through the barrier before she just flies over to me and turns back into her humanoid form while sitting next to me and resting her head on my shoulder.
At this point, she almost looks like an adult. More like a late stage teenager.
Around seventeen years old or so.
But when she’s in bat form she still seems like a kid. And she still acts like a kid even while in her humanoid form.
Well, putting all that aside, after a year, I’m only one level away from reaching Tier 5 with Energy Manipulation. So I should reach it within half a year to a year ish.
Probably closer to half a year.
Then I can focus solely on leveling up Quantum Displacement.
A faint smile spreads across my face at that thought.
Only for it to fade again when I refocus on training my Energy Manipulation.
