B5 | Chapter 5

  Alexia

After the turtles, I end up facing large whales, skinny dolphins, strange fish I’ve never seen before, and even crabs. Just one aquatic creature after another.

  Yet no piranhas, ironically enough.

I swear… if the boss is a piranha, I’m gonna lose it.

Amongst the aquatic creatures I fight against, every one of them has their own different little unique aspects to them.

The whales had so much fat and blubber that kept alternating between magical and non-magical that I had to repeatedly alternate between how I attacked them while focusing on the same spot. Which was annoying as hell and took ages to kill even just one of them.

Although the whales themselves weren’t too powerful with their attacks.

On the other hand, the dolphins were incredibly fast and loved to headbutt me. They were also oddly built in that all of their flesh was magical while their organs were all regular physical organs.

So I had to use anti-magic bullets to open up a way to their organs, of which I hit with my polearm.

Then there are the strange fish I’d never seen before. The type of fish you’d expect to be deep underwater that look weird as hell.

  Yeah, those things self-destructed.

  Which wasn’t pretty.

Shoot them with a single anti-magic bullet and they go pop.

With that pop being an explosion that spans for several meters around them.

  Not very pretty.

As for the crabs? Well, they’re…

Actually, they’re just like the scorpions outside. Except that they have eyeballs on their pincers.

  Which was weird, but whatever.

Unfortunately for me though, not all of these monsters give me EXP. Like the self-destructing strange fish. They didn’t give me any EXP.

Almost like they’re trying to say, ‘I blew myself up, so you had nothing to do with my death and don’t get EXP.’

Most of them do give EXP though, which eventually brings my level up to about 2300 after fighting my way through wormhole after wormhole. Just slaughtering the monsters one after another.

And right as things are starting to get boring, I find myself being expelled from one of the wormholes into the main area of the central ‘planet’. Following which other monsters begin to break out of the wormholes. Destroying said wormholes in the process.

My eyes widen as I see the creatures leaving the wormholes.

Each wormhole has a single monster leaving it. But said singular monster is enormous from each wormhole. So large that I wouldn’t be surprised if it was their size destroying the wormhole upon their exit.

The monsters breaking out of the wormholes are all unique and different from each other. But they once again share a single similarity.

All of them are aquatic creatures.

Ranging from whales to regular fish, to sharks, deep sea fish, and even manta rays.

And these monsters are all in the middle ranges of the 2400s in terms of level. So they’re all at least a hundred to a hundred and fifty levels above me.

Each and every last one of them.

  Big and high leveled.

  That’s annoying.

They also begin to hunt the scorpions. So rest in peace scorpions.

I hurry to try to hunt scorpions as well before these large monsters eat them all. But when I start doing that some of the large monsters begin to attack me as well. Almost like they’re telling me not to hunt their food or something.

Of course, I ignore them and continue hunting the scorpions myself anyway. Especially considering that I’m high enough level now that I actually can hunt the scorpions with a hell of a lot more ease than before.

What I find I can’t hunt right now though are the large monsters. Since neither anti-magic bullets nor my regular attacks seem to work on them.

From what I can tell, it’s not any sort of immunity. Rather, it’s just that they’re stronger than me by a lot. So even if they do have magical bodies beneath their outer layer of regular flesh, I can’t get through their regular flesh to attack it.

I grit my teeth after failing miserably to harm the large monsters. After which I just focus on teleporting up to the scorpions and slaughtering them.

Turning this into a race for who can kill the scorpions fastest.

One hour passes, then another, and another.

One after another, with the scorpions’ population gradually declining more and more.

And right as the scorpions are about to go extinct, one of the larger wormholes suddenly explodes. Sending me flying far away before I manage to stop myself and recover.

Only to find a massive scorpion floating where the wormhole was. A scorpion that lets out an incredibly loud and ear-piercing screech. Drawing the attention of all the large monsters towards it.

I guess the scorpion queen doesn’t like how we’ve been slaughtering the other scorpions.

That thought leaves me to take a look at its identify result.

  {Rhislarsil – The Scorpion Queen – Level 2480}

Guess it’s not the boss, considering its level. But it’s definitely still powerful. And I highly doubt I’ll be able to harm it at all.

I glance at the massive wormhole still located at the center of this place. The wormhole I’m sure without a hint of doubt is where the boss of the dungeon is located.

There’s no way I’m taking on the boss until I’ve ascended. No way in hell.

Or at least not until I’m the max level of Tier 5.

Considering that I probably won’t be able to ascend straight away due to the requirements. And I wouldn’t be surprised if killing a Tier 5 dungeon boss is listed amongst those requirements.

So that last wormhole will have to wait.

For now I just have to figure out how the hell to deal with these over leveled massive monsters.

My thoughts take a brief pause when the scorpion queen turns its attention towards the other massive monsters. Clearly deciding that they’re the most important prey out of us.

And I have no problems with that decision.

  None whatsoever.

Time to observe the thing while it fights.
