Chapter 197 - Plans and a New Supplicant

This is a daily reminder: You have 384 unallocated stat points

“What the hell language is this?” Glindinal barks out.

I open my eyes to her trying to read my diary. Best of luck reading [English], ya snoop. Better not to mock her. With my luck, there are resources out there for learning it. Certainly there were those in Maknor who could read it. I get up.

“Good morning, Glindinal.” She sees me and looks ready to demand to know what was written. She instead asked something different.

“Are you going to be alright?” She was searching my face.

“Memories can be a burden, but I know this weight. I'll keep going.” I give a small smile. I don't think it reassures her. She reaches for me but I simply dodge her. She looks hurt at my rejection. “Sorry.” Is all I murmur.

  -----

I find myself with Stone, Rin, Glindinal and Lea. The Dwarf is grumbling about always meeting in his room. Lea touches my shoulder, I look up at her with a smile. It's not a strong one, but it reassures her.

“So ya finished absorbin’ the core and ya remember more. What's the plan now?”

“I like to claim another core if I can. We still don't know if I can absorb any core. Lea's arcane core used to be mine.”

“Are you serious, you still don't know if you have to go to Cea'nila?” Glindinal retorts.

“Considering who is there, that's an even worse idea now.” Lea balks.

“Right, so instead I like to go to Maknor and claim a core out of Gadvak dungeon.”

“Girlie, last I check, ya're still tier one.” Stone grimaces.

“I'm actually tier two now, my stats are capped at three hundred now.”

“Truly.” He strokes his beardless chin. I still find that odd.

“What about your healing in the clinic, don't you need that to stave off…you know?” Rin asks.

I wince, undead, I look to Lea.

“Randinrin, I would like you to stay with me in Kargnia to continue healing the knights. Together we can keep our [Head Priestess] alive while she gathers her strength. On that note.” Lea looks at her spirit fox. It gives her an annoyed look. The glare grows before the fox jumps into Glindinal.

“Ahhhh what the hell. Why did you stick your ghost fox in me? It feels weird.” Glindinal squirms.

“Simple, now I can be in both places. My fox can't be that far from me unless I have her in someone. When you need me I can swap places with her. Also I have an invite I've been ignoring in Maknor.”

I frown, with the Queen. Glindinal speaks up, “Why is your fox not in Sara then, or Stone. Who said I was going anywhere?”

“You're not?” I look at her.

She frowns, “Fine I am but that didn't answer my question.”

“Sara would simply merge with my fox and well…” Lea trails off looking to the Dwarf.

“I ain't stayin’ in Maknor. I need to get back to ‘Tina. I miss her sorely and with the trouble brewin’ I need to convince her it is time for better pastures.” He spoke.

“Thank you for all your help, Stone Cleaves for Profit.” I bow my head to him.

“Aw don't be gettin’ all formal like, Mourns. Was a job I was happy to help with. Though only half way done, I reckon.” I give a nod to that.

At the clap of her hand Lea draws our attention to her. “Good, now that is out of the way. I found some cover for your trip to Maknor.” I raise an eyebrow to that. She catches it and explains. “Considering your situation, hiding your movements is just being prudent. Delores is heading to Maknor to get ready for Gotsdam in the summer.” Glindinal and myself both frown at that. Why is she frowning? She doesn't seem interested in answering my unspoken question. “Are you able to use your tails, Sara?”

She wants me to try my arcane tail. I don't have Said or my spirit at the moment. But they are part of me. Suddenly I am looking through five sets of eyes. Just as quickly it shifts to two but now I feel sore in multiple places after three of my bodies fall in a clump.

“Aurora!” Glindinal and Randinrin both swarm one of me.

“Apologies, I am still Sara.” I say through one of my mouths, with a slight head bow. I look over and see myself looking at myself…alright that's confusing.

“Why are there multiple Mourns in various flavors?” Stone exclaims.

Five of us. It's the same level as my arcane core. Guess instead of one body with five tails, it's just five bodies, one tail each. But three of them are unconscious. Not enough attentions to manipulate them.

You have gained [Two Separate Minds 2] Intermediate 4

  Gain 16 exp

I smile at that, the system is being as prompt as always. One of my tails is attached to a Violet look alike, pale but ultra violet hair and blood. Cat ears and a cat tail. I see an unconscious Red, still in the proportions Delores had defined for her. Still looks almost twelve. The other two unconscious ones are young human girls. One with curly dirty blond hair that looks to be seven and the other looks eight with Maxwell blue hair with black streaks. Both their waists are incredibly small. My last tail is attached to a rather older human with black hair in a bun. I really have become Marie.

“A better question is why are they all so different?” Lea asks.

“They are the various [Attendants] I have been and my grandmother. My [Permanent Arcane Mana Core] allots me five tails. I am as shocked as you are that it resulted in five bodies.”

“All well and good but why is that one so much taller than the rest?” Stone points to the Marie clone. Now that he mentions it I am looking over everyone's head.

“I seem to have scaled myself to how I remembered my grandmother.” My height drops to be eye level with Lea.

“So why are there three unconscious?” Randinrin asks, sweeping her gaze over the extra bodies.

“My attentions, pardon me, [Separate Minds] skill is only able to maintain two of the bodies.” I pause, becoming morose, “If I was still two, I am certain four of the bodies would be active.”

“This works even better than, you can leave one here as Aurora and have this one leave for Maknor.” Lea motions towards the Marie me.

I shake my head, “The moment I touch blood, the illusion breaks apart. I can't let miss Randinrin have the thirst for that long.”

  Randinrin frowns at that.

“And we can't let up on the healing either.” Lea laments. “We can at least start the deception. Do you know which you return to?”

I nod, “Whichever I choose, miss.”

“Is this what Sera looks like?” Glindinal says looking over the dark red body. I walk over with the Marie body and touch her. It disappears and I feel another tail sprout out of Marie. Surprisingly, the Marie body feels stronger. Glindinal looks annoyed at me.

“Apologies, miss Glindinal. I did not know that would occur. That body was set to Delores specifications.”

Upon mentioning my former mistress, Glindinal scowl grows.

“Why are you talking all prim like anyways?” She retorts.

“I speak as an [Attendant] should, miss.” I only earn more frowns. I simply go and collect my tails. Quite frankly it was rather irresponsible of me to be laying about for others to see. A small smile sneaks out of my two awake bodies. I have [Attendant] brain again.

“Think you can set this one to be more like what you looked like when you arrived at Kargnia?” Lea asks while pointing at the Violet me.

I nod with that body and I gain the mismatched ears and the skeletal right arm. I can't shift how the tail looks. I frown at that. “Apologies Lady Leander, I can not set my tail to what it was.”

“It would be under your robe either way, do change the clothes as well.”

“Of course.” The work dress becomes the white healer robes. An eyepatch settles over my left eye. I can feel the sadness radiate out of both Randinrin and Glindinal. I released the illusion, returning to myself where Violet me was. “Sorry.”

Rin shakes her head at me while Glindinal scoffs. Lea interrupts, “Delores’s carriage will be by soon.” She looks to Glindinal and me. “Gather whatever supplies you need.”

A bit more grumbling from Glindinal but she leaves first. I think I'll hit up the bakery myself. I feel a tug on my sleeve.

“Can I speak with you and Leander?” Rin asks.

“Sure.” I look at Lea, she nods as well.

Stone looks annoyed but leaves us in his room. When he is gone Rin floors me.

“Do you understand enough to tell me what becoming a Vampire means?”

I pale at what she asks. Lea herself gives a pitying look.

“First and foremost, it means becoming my daughter. You'll be kin and I'll never see you in any other way.” She winces at that. “Physically, you will switch between your alive person form to undead monster depending on how injured you are. You can only satisfy your body's needs through blood. You won't age but you don't anyways. Depending on how long you wait, you will have a Tibyder body, the one you saw with the spider half.”

“I won't have your tails? How did Leander gain them?” Rin asks.

“It was after Sara gave me her blood core. I didn't go through the typical process of becoming a Vampire.”

“What was your process?” She asked.

Lea frowned, “Well after Sara removed the hybrid killing geas from—”

“You were an Elf?” Rin interrupted.

A bit of cold eyes looked at Rin, “I was a [Princess], Randinrin.” Rin eyes grow wide at that. Lea continues, “She made me into a Tibyder. After finding Hybrid hunters in Kargnia I begged her to hide me in the Dungeon. She ended up making my body a dungeon monster that she attached my soul to. It was only later that I regained autonomy from her. I was annoyed about it at the time but who knows what would have happened if I was still part of her Dungeon.”

I frown at that as Rin murmurs the word Dungeon. My undead babies are still there. Do they still exist? At the question, I feel two things crawl inside me. The frown loosens. Not all my babies are gone. I wonder if the clutch will still hatch after being in stasis for so long. I'm nudged.

“Sara! Your attention was wandering again. Randinrin, is this something you want?” Lea asks.

I interrupt before she answers, “It doesn't matter, my soul is not in a good place for making [Supplicant]s.”

“What does your soul have to do with it?” Rin asks.

Shit, I forgot to say. “I basically end up taking your soul gains for borrowing some of my soul. It makes you unable to deny my request over time. When you have more of my soul than your own, that's when you start becoming a Tibyder.”

“How much would I be borrowing?” Rin asks.

“At least five, more if I decide to give more. Doesn't matter, as I said I can't risk parceling out my soul at the moment.” I should just head out before I do something I'll regret.

“Nothing says you have to be the one she is a [Supplicant] to.” Lea opines.

I slowly turn my head to Lea as I see the fox on her shoulder.

“Would I not be her daughter then?” Rin says, a bit hopeful.

Lea splashes water on her enthusiasm, “Worse, you'd be her granddaughter. Is this what you want, Randinrin?” She says it as the fox joins her, Lea becomes the black Tibyder with bladed legs.

Rin eyes widened, “You're smaller but more intimidating then Aurora was. Why don't you have as many arms?”

Lea looks at me, but replies to Rin, “It’s actually Sera version of the Tibyder, the one you'll become is slightly different.”

“Actually if it's through you, it will likely be very similar to this one.” I murmur.

Lea looks annoyed at me, “Your rules make no sense.”

“Sorry.” I wince. This causes Rin to laugh. She breathes for a moment, then looks at Lea.

  “I'll do it.”

Another wince. Lea stands in front of her. “You understand that you will never be with her after this, she will only have a maternal love for you.”

“That was already a given.” Rin says resolutely. I blanch at her words.

  “Open your mouth, young one.”

She does, Lea pushes a drop of blood from her finger and pushes it against Rin's tongue.

“Take a drop of my blood and be bound, Randinrin.” Lea intones.

A lick and a swallow. Her body convoluses as my soul eyes burn a bit of my soul to watch her be etched.

  Soul lowered to 516

She wasn't the only one being etched. So was Lea.

You have gained [Vampress Matriarch] Apprentice 4

  Gain 20 exp

The moment my soul eyes winked out the rest of my soul mana is pulled through my tether. Damn it.

Lea grabs Rin chin, “Let me see your title, [Supplicant].”

Wait, what is she? My chest seizes. It was like my soul day. My eyes tear up from the numerous rents in my soul. They burn where they were only freshly healed.

  Soul raised to 525

“My [Queen].” Rin runs over to catch me. That just makes it hurt worse. I glare at Lea.

“How is it that everyone always has a level ready when they get that title.” I growl.

It's now my chin being tipped up by Lea, “Dear, it's adventuring basics, always save a few levels in case you need a specific stat for something. Don't worry I'll spread the remaining nine out. Is a week each good for you, my [Queen].”

My eyes widened, she'll be a Tibyder in less than three months.

“Please, mistress, daily. I can't burden her for that long.” Rin practically begs.

  Damn it.

“Do not be too eager, young one. Our [Queen] is still injured, but she does need the soul.”
