C44

I occasionally left the cogitator to ask questions to lord Berekel, when he permitted it. He had more experience overall in this age, so it would be daft for me not to use his wisdom.

The problem was he was busy coordinating the fleet at large, and recently, he has been getting the fleet ready to warp to port. We would be going to a mechanicus world to sell and repair what we had.

So, I had spent more time in my research. What I had found, both in my questioning and research at large about this supposed chaos gives credence to their name.

They, at a grand scale, appear to be genuinely insane psychopaths. They have abandoned the galaxy at large, hiding in a gigantic warp hole in the galaxy. They had apparently betrayed the imperium, tried to corrupt everything with the immaterial, and now basically use guerrilla warfare to corrupt and conquer everything they could.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

Oh, and the aeldari apparently are trapped on craftworlds now. That is funny. The krorks devolved into orks, a more primitive version of what they once were, and that is... that. Neither good nor bad, I think.

But for now, chaos seems to be the worst threat. They strike in raids, taking and killing all they can. This seems to be the most immediate threat. They have been known to strike everywhere, sor any reason. Worse still, the immaterium has enhanced them.

Things have fallen into decay everything from humanity's golden age, after the betrayal. This was largely inconsequential to my duties, but it was interesting.

So, chaos warbands with innumerable goals, orks, and the crippled aeldari. If I was a Phaeron, I would be salivating at this. But I'm no Phaeron. I'm a deathmark. With my contract, I have to figure out how to best protect and elevate the Berekel house.

At least I won't be bored. Things could be worse.
