After the broadcast, they finally decided to go to the rented gym to train. It was just a few blocks away from Emilio’s house and they could go walking. The first thing that Gabriela made them do was check how much weight they could lift. Emilio could lift about 40 kg with both arms, but they faced a problem with Amelia. No matter how much weight she tried, she could lift it.
After half an hour of trying to get her limit, they gave up and had her lift Emilio’s car. It seemed a little bit extreme, but she was actually able to lift it partially. It was not a complete lift, but she could tilt it by hand. It was so scary that Gabriela had her promise to never hit anyone. She was afraid she was going to kill someone accidentally.
After that, they decided that Amelia’s training should not include her hitting anything. Whatever she hit, she was going to destroy it. That meant she was going to be shadowboxing.
Afterwards, they began training for real. With Gabriela as a teacher they began to learn how to actually move. They learned to punch, kick and dodge, but Emilio was faced with a problem. He had never trained his body and even if he had huge vitality, his body was still a normal human body. He was literally someone learning self defense for the first time in his life!
Amelia was better than him in this regard. She was always a sports person and cared about her body. She had also upgraded her Body which, in some way, made it easier to do the hard exercises. Even like that, she was not that much better. Playing sports was not the same as self defense.
At the very least, Emilio could have some real combat with Gabriela. The gym was equipped with regular protections for combat and, as long as Amelia was not using them, they were not going to destroy them with their normal human strength.
Emilio was actually excited to have some real combat training and was really happy when he faced Gabriela for the first time. That excitement was really short-lived. In just a little while he realized that the training was nothing like what he had expected. Instead, he had the beating of his life. Gabriela didn’t hold back on her strength because he could ‘Heal and practice his Regeneration’, in her own words.
She even said, ‘If you want to get hit less, then be better. You have better Stats than me.’
Even if it felt like bullying, he was actually getting better really fast. Much faster than what he had expected. After all, he had to or suffer pain.
After a while, Emilio tried to stop the combat to focus on his healing, but he was not allowed. Gabriela said that his Skill was supposed to be passive. If he wanted to focus on increasing its effect he would have to do it while still fighting.
For Emilio, the worst part was that Gabriela’s reasoning was sound and she won any kind of argument with just one sentence. ‘If this was a real fight you would not be given time off to heal. Just deal with it. Your Skill is passive, so use it as it should be used.’
The combat was only interrupted by Emilio’s phone ringing. It was Amelia the one who picked up once again. Emilio was so focused on trying to resist Gabriela’s fists that didn’t hear the phone.
“Emi, Gabi stop,” she shouted,“Mili is on the phone.”
The moment Gabriela stopped attacking, Emilio simply dropped to the floor, too tired to even move a single finger. One would think the Vitality would let him be ok, but he was fighting for over an hour without a single break! After all Gabriela also had 8 points in Vitality.
Emilio’s Vitality might have been higher, but was continuously spending it in healing himself. He might not have bled, but Gabriela was a professional and purposely didn’t control her strength. Anyone else might have just died with that kind of training.

Emilio laid on the floor and he felt like he was beaten up… Wait, he was actually beaten up, but he still had to answer the phone call from Milagros.
“Ami, do me a favor and bring me the phone,” he asked.
After he received it, still laying on the floor, he greeted the woman on the other side. “Hi Mili. Congratulations on the biggest deal in the world based on massive global panic.”
“Thank you Emi. You know, everything for the money,” Milagros joked back. “For real, the panic couldn’t have been avoided. But at least, we could profit from a possible disaster. The good news is that we have a lot more capital to invest in our talent.”
“How much?” Emilio asked.
“You don’t want to know,” Milagros evaded the answer.
“Really, how much could it be? It has been two hours!” Emilio said.
“I actually don’t know the real number right now, but it was growing faster than what we had projected. We actually started hiring talents and people who bought the details in the Trial shop to send mails to our new clients,” Milagros explained, “The good news is that your issue with the salary vanished in the air. You will have your full 112% raise just as it was announced. Actually, we should have already deposited your yearly salary in full on your account.”
“How much money does KimTec have right now?” Emilio was quite surprised at their ability to deposit almost a million dollars just two hours after the broadcast. Maybe a lot of people actually bought higher tier priority in the subscriptions. “If I really got the raise, I feel bad about what I was going to ask.”
“Emi, ask whatever you need. All this business is because of you. It is actually impossible for you to outscale the profit balance.”
“Well… I wanted to ask if it was possible to add Gabriela and her family to our food schedule. She will be eating as much as us and be stuck with us. Maybe Rafael should be added too,” Emilio explained.
“Oh, I hadn’t thought about that. I will talk with them, do you know if she wants to eat with you?”
“She agreed on lunch but wanted to ask her family for dinner,” Emilio said.
“Ok, I’ll be in contact. Either way, they will be added if they want. Going into this subject I wanted to ask you something. Do you want to get a delivery or go to eat at a restaurant for dinner?”
“Is that a possibility?” Emilio asked.
“I can even give you a tour over several restaurants,” Milagros offered.
“Ami, do you want delivery or restaurants for dinner?” Emilio asked his niece.
“Can I really choose?” Amelia asked, stumped by the question. “I guess restaurants.”
“Then restaurants it is,” Emilio confirmed.
“You really make it really tempting to just go along with you,” Gabriela commented.
“Mili said you can join us whenever you want,” Emilio told her. “You should call your husband and ask.”
“Is she still there?” Milagros asked, “it is already later than the pacted hours, what is she doing with you?”
“Beating me up,” Emilio remarked with a little bit of resentment.
“Good joke,” Milagros said while laughing. “For real, how was your first training day?”
“It was no joke, she beat me up for more than an hour straight. At the very least, I think I am actually learning.”
“Well, that’s between you and her. Tell her to call me when she decides what she wants to do with her food issue.”
“Sure, and thank you for everything.”
Emilio hung up, but didn’t leave the phone. He had something to check and he opened his home banking app. Once he could read his balance he actually had to count the zeroes. He had received a deposit of nine hundred thousand dollars. This number made Emilio think a bit until he remembered that he actually had an extra fifty thousand for expenses on his contract. The only problem was that Mili was covering all of his expenses, so what expenses were they even talking about?
“What are you checking?” Amelia asked.
“I think I am a millionaire.” Well, he was not a millionaire per se, but almost. And this was his yearly salary, that could increase even more with the rest of the Trials he was going to take.
