Chapter 24. Breakfast.

By the end of the night, they managed to make a training schedule and find out what they needed.

First of all, both Emilio and Amelia needed to learn self defense for real. None of them had ever done anything like that, and they were now going to need it. At the same time, Amelia needed to learn how to use her gun and Emilio how to use his daggers.

That meant that Milagros was going to look for teachers for them to learn. Amelia's case was quite easy to solve. A lot of people used guns and they could find someone to teach her. On the other hand, Emilio’s case was much harder. After all, how many people really know how to use a dagger in this day and age?

Either way, KimTec was going to do it. The world was big and they could find teachers to learn how to use what they needed. The real problem was that the people who took the trial could not move far away. That meant that would need to be someone who lived closed by or someone who had not attended the Trials yet. That reduced the amount of people available to search and meant that Milagros had a lot of work to find someone appropriate.

Besides getting the teachers, both of them had to practice with their weapons. For Amelia it was quite easy as she could go to the shooting range to practice.

For Emilio it was quite harder. He could keep practicing as he had on the previous days, but no one thought it was a smart way. That meant he really needed an unsharpened replica of the daggers to practice. To get them, Milagros took a few photos of both daggers. There had to be someone who could build the replicas.

Besides the teachers, access to the shooting range and the dagger replicas, there were a few more things to take care of. The first one was their actual schedule. Emilio was still a KimTec employee and he had to get an official schedule, at the same time they could make one for Amelia too.

For the moment, it was decided that they were going to be training from 9 to 13, then stop for their lunch that was going to be taken care of by KimTec so they don’t have to worry about cooking for ten. In the afternoon, they were going to keep training until six.

Emilio also agreed to ask Tuor for a working schedule that works with their Stats the next time he entered a Trial. For the moment, they decided that 8 hours per day was enough and it was also Emilio’s new working schedule.

By the time they finished organizing everything and Milagros left, it was almost midnight. Amelia was completely spent and went straight to sleep, but Emilio had a new problem. Even if he stayed up late the previous night and woke up early, he was not tired at all.

His Vitality was so high that he couldn’t sleep at all. Instead, he decided to not sleep for the moment and screen the internet for news on the system.

The information he found was not a lot and all of what he managed to find he already knew. What he did find interesting is that he found out some reactions to the System.

Some governments were banning the people from carrying visible weapons. There was one country that even tried to confiscate all of the System weapons, resulting in a riot of people empowered by the Trials. Not a lot of them actually had Skills or really high Stats, but they were kind of superhumans either way. With that development, the ban was lifted within the hour.

There were also some rumours regarding that country in some non official posts that said that the System actually gave back all the weapons to their owners and that was the reason it was lifted. Most comments said that it was bullshit, but Emilio could really see that happening. After all, they were a personal reward.

The result was that most governments had come to an understanding that most of their citizens were going to have weapons on them.

Besides that, the rest of the things he found were not too interesting. There was some news of some increased criminal activities and about some vigilante playing the part of a superhero after having a good result in the Trial but nothing else.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Emilio decided he was done with his research and turned on the TV to stream some random show just to relax. He ended up going to sleep after 3, thinking he was going to be tired on his first day of his new schedule.

He was wrong. Instead of being tired, he woke up by himself a few minutes before his alarm rang. Not only did he wake up, but he was also completely rested and ready for a full day of training.

At that moment, Emilio realized that maybe Vitality also reduced his need for sleep. If he really had to sleep less time per day, then it was going to be amazing.

He dressed up and checked if Ameila was up, thinking maybe it was all Stats that reduced their needs of rest, but she was fast asleep. Given that he had some time, Emilio decided to make some breakfast for both of them before their day officially started.

Emilio decided to keep it simple and he made some coffee and toast. After he had everything ready, he was surprised by the door bell ringing.

“Who is it?” He asked as he approached the door.

“Breakfast delivery for Emilio,” the man on the other side answered.

Emilio opened the door to find a man with four boxes stacked on top of each other. It was a delivery that came straight from a local bakery, where one of the employees took the orders

“Just how many people do you have in there?” The man asked. It was one of the biggest deliveries he had ever seen to a normal house.

“Umm, don’t ask,” Emilio sighed. “Nevertheless, the amount seems right. Did Mili send this? She was faster than expected.”

“It was an order from Milagros to Emilio. It came early in the morning and we are hired to send this amount each day for the next month,” The man explained.

“She really outdid herself,” Emilio nodded.

“Are you sure you can eat all of this every day? I would hate it if you had to throw it out.”

“It should be about right, we will not waste it,” Emilio confirmed. “Wait a second so I can get a tip. I was not expecting you today.”

“There is no need, it was already tipped in the payment. Just what did you do to get this breakfast for a month?” The man asked curiously.

“I kind of did really well in the Trial and had a really good promotion. Also, I think I might have lunch and dinner delivered too,” Emilio answered, remembering what Milagors had proposed the previous day.

“Wow that’s a lot. Congratulations, I guess. I tried the Trial, but I couldn’t pass it and didn’t get a Stat point. Can I ask what ‘really good’ means?”

“I don’t really know. I was just in the right place at the right time. If you know someone who you think performed really well, you can bring them here and I might be able to put them in contact with the appropriate person,” Emilio explained.

“Thank you very much, I’ll keep it in mind. Enjoy your breakfast then.”

“One more thing, can I have your contact information in case we don’t need the delivery someday?” Emilio asked.

“Ohh, good call. If it is like that we can delay the delivery and add an extra day after the end of the month as long as you give us the head’s up” the man added.

  “That’s some great service.”

After taking the contact information, Emilio came back to the house with four boxes full of food. As he came inside he found Amelia on the table waiting for him.

“What did you order?” She asked.

“I didn’t, Mili is already sending us food. We have breakfast scheduled for the whole month.”

“So, why did you make the toast? Also, why is it a normal portion of toast?” She asked.

“That was my bad, I forgot about how much we eat. Also, I didn't think Mili was going to start sending food right away. Just how much budget does she have?”

“A lot, apparently. Let's see what she sent.”

There were all kinds of delicacies from cakes to medialunas. There were also some savory things like mini sandwiches. Given all of the food there was, Emilio started questioning himself if he was actually going to need lunch at all, but the most surprising thing is that they finished all the food and they weren't overstuffed.

“Well, I agree that feeding us might actually be a budget on itself,” Amelia commented looking at the empty table.

“Yes. Luckily, Mili got us covered. I will go see if there is any news from work and then let’s go training. Technically, I am on working hours.”

“I will go call mom and see how it is going over there,” Amelia said.

“Ok, send her my regards and remind her that, from now on, any information we provide is confidential so she can’t share it anymore. As far as anyone else knows, we didn’t share any more information because it is confidential,” Emilio reminded her, trusting his sister to do the right thing.

“Sure,” the girl agreed and went happily to talk with her mother.
