“Alright students, we will now go over hand to hand combat. It will be to see who the best combatant is if we run into someone with a power along the lines of taking away kai and you have to fight with only your fists. Follow me, we have a hand to hand combat training area.”

  They all walk through the grassy area In order to make their way to the combat training area following Mr. Smite.

  “In training for normal people you fight against each other, However we are special. We do have to fight each other in a way, but not in the way that you think. We have a specialized kai user, they gave the ability to produce summoning vessels that can mimic fighting capabilities. You all will have to fight a summoning vessel that mimics your fighting style and skill, however that Is used after we have gauged your skills. We have a vessel that Is ranked at the average b rank's hand to hand combat abilities. Mrs. Stin is right over there.”

  He points to a slightly muscular, brown eyed and brown haired woman. About 5’3 and slightly older, about 40 years old looking. Mr. Smite and his students arrive right as she finishes writing something down.

  “Ahh Mr. Smite. What are you doing here?” She looks behind him.

  “Hand to hand combat assessments? That time of year already? Let's hope they can match up to the year 2 class, though that will be quite hard. You just missed the second year Josh. He wanted extra training. Anyway I assume the hand to hand training will start now. Whoever is first, come up.”

  Jason steps up first.

  “I will go first Mrs. Stin!”

  Mrs. Stin smiles. She holds her hand up towards The brown humanoid Blob and it melts then regrows.

  “Go on since you're so eager. And please, call me Mrs. M.”

  Jason walks over towards the brown summoning vessel.

  “Oh and remember, no kai. You can only use hand to hand, any amps are disallowed during assessments. Do whatever you want on your own training time for hand to hand though, it will only worsen you.”

  Jason nods and then walks closer towards the vessel. He tries to hit it in the stomach to which it blocks and returns the hit with a jab to Jason's side. Jason gasps slightly Then tries to kick the side of the vessel's knee to which it buckles slightly then punches his stomach then kicks him away at his waist. it runs towards him and grabs him by the neck and puts him down to the ground.

  “Enough.” Mrs. Stin says after Jason is on the ground.

  “Your assessment ends when you're unable to fight back, the vessel is unable to fight, or enough time has passed, 1 minute is the timer. Jason you got d rank for your hand to hand. Who's next?”

  No one volunteers.

  “You there. The guy with black hair and brown eyes.”

  She points to Andrew.

  Andrew looks A little upset at being told to go second. He steps forward towards the vessel. It seems to be passive slightly, as well as blocking and dodging well enough to be hard to fight. I will try to feint an attack and while it's dodging or blocking I will go for an uncovered area. He pretends to go for a left hook to the face, to which the vessel blocks. It put both hands up towards the right side of its face, so I'll go for an easy punch to the stomach. Andrew throws a haymaker at its stomach and it keels over and Andrew drives his left elbow on top of the vessel's head and it topples over front side down. Andrew stands on top of it and grabs its arms pulling them backwards towards him and making the vessel unable to move. Mrs. Stin smiles widely and looks at Mr. Smite.

  “This one might be able to rival Josh and some of the second years. That fighting skill along with a good kai craft, he might be really strong”

  Andrew frowns at the mention of a kai craft.

  “If only.” He mutters.

  Mrs. Stin looks at Andrew.

  “S rank for your hand to hand. next person. I choose the girl.”

  Mia looks at the summoning vessel as it gets back up. She jabs the vessel in its left side. The vessel blocks at the same time it swings back with its right hand headed for her rib. She takes the hit by holding her hand open at the point of impact, then grabs the arm and pulls it past her while using her right hand to grab the vessel by the neck and push it downwards to the floor. The vessel feels the pressure on its neck and being pushed to the floor so it pulls its hand backwards to it and moves it to grab the sides of Mia, pulling her over it and pushing her away. It rises up and grabs her right leg And pulls her towards it and throws her off balance down to the floor. She kicks her free leg at the head of the vessel, gets up and slams both of her hands onto its back, stunning it. She then sits on top of its back.

  “What's my hand to hand rank Mrs. M?”

  Mrs. Stine smiles at the entertainment of the fight.

  “Quite good work making use of the weak points of each move my summoning vessel tried to pull off. I must say taking the hit to grab its arm and give you the advantage? Very impressive display of your quick thinking. A rank. Now it's just between you boys. Which one wants to go.”

  Felix finally volunteers.

  “I will go. I want to try but fair warning, don't expect much.”

  Felix steps up to bat. He tries to go for a left hook at the vessel's head. The vessel dodges though and lands 3 punches directly to his chest. Felix tries to fix his breathing as he goes for a Kick in the balls. The vessel flinches slightly but as if it were a normal kick, since it doesn't have anything down there.

  “That usually works.”

  Felix says nervous and offhandedly. The vessel holds his leg and lands a blow on Felix with his free hand then pulls his leg to leave him on the ground facing up. The vessel holds Felix by the neck and then Mrs. Stine ends the fight.

  “Very poor performance. D rank as well. Last guy, you're up.”

  Leo looks at the vessel nervously. It performs well, but from what I've observed it tends to operate based on counters. So I'll do 2 attacks at once to try to mess with it. Leo goes for a headbutt while at the same time hitting the vessel in the stomach, driving his hand deep into the stomach. It dodges the headbutt By moving its head slightly to the left but can't dodge or block the hit in the stomach. It was attempting a punch but missed on account of being hit and messing the trajectory up. Leo grabs the arm and punches the vessel right underneath its armpit area. He pushes it away right after while grabbing the vessel's legs and hitting 6 blows on the vessel While it is being tugged towards him. The vessel collapses on the floor and Leo puts his foot on the chest of the vessel.

  “My rank?” He asks Mrs. Stine.

  “A rank for sure. Quick and decisive movement that helped you exponentially. Oh and everyone tell me your names. I have to write it down next to your ranks. Each of you state your name in the order that you fought in.”

  Jason Speaks first.

  “My name is Jason, next it's Andrew, then Mia, Felix and finally Leo!”

  Mrs. Stine smiles kindly.

  “Thank you but I need to hear it from them. Black hair brown eye Boy you're next.”

  “Andrew.”

  They each go through their names one by one. Mrs. Stine Writes each name next to a rank matching the name on the sheet that she was writing on earlier when Josh was training.

  “Now it is time to test everyone's battle intelligence and your kai craft usages.”

  Mimicking vessel is the kai craft of Margo Stin and it allows her to create a summoning vessel that can mimic fighting styles along with skills and grow it's fighting skills. It is a brown blob-like humanoid summoning vessel that takes kai to create and maintain. When released it melts into nothing or it can be damaged to the point of forcing it to release.
