Mr. Smite walks through students through the school walking through the hallways. They pass a poster among the walls of the halls that states the ranks of everyone in the school, the faculty included. Jason and Leo take a quick glance but only spot one name they recognize. ‘Derrick smite. A rank.’ They walk by some trees and arrive at the kai craft training grounds.

  “Now since some of you don't know each other's kai crafts, we will be demonstrating with these.”

  Mr. Smite points to some targets that look akin to some archery targets.

  “Well, show them off. And if you have a complicated ability with many parts to it, show off each part. The ones on the right are imbued With kai, the ones on the left are normal targets. demonstrate on both targets. Felix, you can go first.”

  Mr. Smite smiles And waves him on.

  “Mine is not really meant for pure destructiveness but it will definitely give me the edge in battle! So don't underestimate It!”

  He walks over towards a non imbued target and grows three Arms on his left side. He cocks back and swings. the arms are a little spread and desynced but they act together well enough to make a difference. He punches a hole straight through the target and pulls the arms out of the hole. Then he walks over towards the kai targets.

  “It will destroy this one just as easily as the other!”

  He winds up for a hard punch and grows an extra arm. Then he swings it as hard as he can and the arms hit the target and stop instantly. No momentum Is left. Felix nervously laughs a little bit.

  “One more try?”

  He grows 4 arms on the right side as well and goes for a punch on the kai target again but this time he makes a tiny dent into it.

  “Basically destroyed.”

  Felix smiles and walks back towards his classmates, a little sweat on his brow.

  “Close enough.” Mr. Smite says while smiling. “Mia, you're next. Normal Target then the kai ones.”

  Mia extends her right arm.

  “It's basic, almost everyone can do it with little to no training, but mine is incredibly advanced” She says.

  Given how hard he struggled against the kai target compared to the normal one, I will use about 5% of my kai output against the normal one, in order to use more against the kai target. A smaller and more condensed version of a kai shot outputs from her arm to the regular target. It goes clean through the regular target. Now the kai target. Mia's arm Glows purple slightly and shoots out a slightly bigger kai shot. It is far more condensed even to the untrained eye like the first years. The kai travels through the air and hits the kai target, putting a bigger dent into the target but no holes. The kai disperses upon touching the target.

  “Good. Now Andrew” Mr. Smite Says with a large smile after seeing Mia's attempt.

  Mr. Smite whispers in Andrew's ear before he continues.

  “Since you're a special case, your rank will not be based on kai, kai craft, or kai craft mastery. It will be based on weapon mastery and battle intelligence.”

  Andrew nods then continues to the normal target. He punches a hole through it And with minimal effort he destroys it. Then he wanders to the kai target. It can't be that hard. He punches as hard as he can and puts a small Dent into it. So far Mia has done the most damage.

  “Nicely done Andrew. Jason we shall be skipping you since it's a non usable kai craft at the moment. Leo, your turn. Choose anyone you want then use it.”

  Leo grins At the opportunity.

  “Mr. Smite, may you use your kai craft on me so I may copy it.”

  Mr. Smite creates a very small dagger and barely scratches him.

  “Now use it.”

  Leo holds his hand out and then after a moment of concentration, Leo creates a small dagger and hurls it at the target, Piercing it easily. He moves towards the kai target after grabbing the dagger out of the normal target. He stares directly at the yellow fabric and tries to stab it. The knife gets bent upon touching it, barely making a scratch.

  “Alright class. The rankings so far are, ‘Felix Tal, c rank’ ‘Mia Kune, b rank’ ‘Andrew Petit, to be decided’ ‘Jason Lani, to be decided’ ‘Leo Arata, d rank’ this can be updated as time goes on, however we'll have to observe more as we go on”

  Kai can be transferred to inanimate objects in order to enhance them but it takes longer. Lots of areas within kai academy are enhanced by kai due to training mishaps that can happen
