“That's all cool, but I'm more of a… visual learner. Could you show us or something? I didn't understand half of the things you said. Like what's a kai craft, and how do we harness kai?” Jason says impatiently.

  “Right. I guess it is a lot to take in. Here let me show You.”

  Derrick walks towards a statue that resembles some flames. He aims his fingers in the shape of a gun. Jason and Leo don't See anything happening, and then all of the sudden a small round hole is in the middle of the statue, making some cracks around the whole. Jason Speaks up again.

  “So that was cool… But what happened? I didn't see anything, did you Leo?”

  Leo Shakes his head.

  “No I didn't. What was that?”

  Derrick looks confused.

  “Huh? How did you not see?”

  Then he has a look of understanding.

  “Oh right! You guys have to have a little control of kai first. Try putting energy all over your body. If that sounds hard think of it like… tensing all of your body at once with some unreleased energy.”

  Leo and Jason look at each other then try to follow what Derrick said. They try to tense their whole body at once and use unreleased energy to hold it. Derrick notices some purple aura surrounding Jason. He looks over to Leo next and sees purple aura flickering around him, but surrounding him fully.

  Derrick makes the finger gun again. Jason and Leo pay close attention while trying to hold the Purple aura. A tiny purple shot is fired at the statue again, this time directly to the right of the original hole.

  “Woah! What was that?!” Jason says.

  Derrick smiles.

  “So you do have a little mastery Now. That was kai. Kai is the purple energy needed to use a kai craft and most things needed to fight. If you've called upon your kai once, you shouldn't need to keep tensing your body anymore. If you stop you should be able to see kai just fine now.”

  Leo and Jason finally stop tensing.

  “So since we've learned about kai, what Is a kai craft then?”

  Leo asks.

  “That's a great question. Kai crafts are special. They differ from person to person. Though some people can have the same kai craft Depending on their bloodline. They're sometimes tied to the user's personality. I don't know why personally, I kind of skipped that Lesson. Maybe coincidence. However I can show you my kai craft. Then maybe I can show you my kai property next!” Derrick says excitedly. Jason immediately looks at Derrick with curiosity.

  “Show us!”

  “My kai craft is called weapon substitute. It allows me to turn kai into weapons.”

  He sticks his palm Out and immediately Kai is shot out of his hand and turned into a dagger.

  “Pretty cool right? I can create any weapon, The only limitations are my own imagination and my kai amount.”

  Even Leo looks at the weapon in admiration.

  “Woah! That's cool! But what is a kai property?”

  Derrick looks confused again.

  “oh I guess I forgot to explain a kai property well. Kai properties are not usable by some kai users. Only a select few have them and they're usually Related to their kai craft. It's what the kai can be when the user outputs kai. Mine makes my kai feel like the effect type of the weapon I have made. So if I created a sword, it would feel like my kai is sharp. If I created a hammer, my kai would feel blunt. And so on. Now what I want you to do is call upon your kai craft and use it against me.”

  Some things involving kai such as kai properties and kai crafts aren't able to be used or known about right away. There are three main ways to unlock them, training, time, and a big event that triggers it.
