“Leo, are you thinking of signing up for the movie club on Friday?”

  Jason asks as he tosses the baseball to Leo.

  “Umm. Maybe? I don't know yet.”

  Leo catches the ball and tosses it back to Jason.

  “I thought you loved movies?”

  Jason throws it back to Leo.

  “I do. Some of the people in that type of club are usually too loud to enjoy the Movie. They don't actually sign up for the movie, but to talk to friends”

  Leo lobs it towards Jason.

  “I know, they shouldn't be signing up because you can just talk to them at a different place.”

  Jason pitches it back. a 6 foot tall man named derrick shows up about half a football field behind Leo, his dark hair being pushed in the wind. That kid looks Familiar for some reason. He thinks while looking at Leo. I can't put my finger on it. Either way, I can sense their kai. Both of them have about the amount of the average Kai user. Well maybe the one with the ball has a bit more than the average Kai user. I have to at least try to recruit them I guess. Derrick appears behind Leo.

  “Hey kid,” He says warmly. “Can I have a wor-”

  his sentence is interrupted. He started talking right as Leo was throwing the ball towards Jason. Leo being startled caused him to accidentally throw it faster than an actual MLB pitcher. The ball swerves last second.

  “Leo! Uncalled for.” Jason yells at him.

  “Sorry, I was shocked.”

  Leo turns towards Derrick and smiles.

  “What can we do for you sir?”

  Derrick continues his sentence.

  “I was going to ask for a word with you two. And I'd prefer to be called my name rather than sir. My name is Derrick, and both of your names are?”

  Leo looks at Jason.

  “My name is Leo and his name is Jason. We're best friends! What do you need to talk about?”

  Jason starts to walk towards Leo and Derrick.

  “I'm going to just cut to the chase because I really don't like this talk. Do you find school life boring?”

  Leo seems to think for a second, then Jason buts in.

  “Yeah we do, what about it?”

  Derrick smiles. The enthusiasm from him just makes it easier.

  “I sense a good amount of energy from you. If you like the notion of fantasy over school, then follow me.”

  Leo is a bit skeptical, but wants to follow. Jason looks at Leo.

  “We should follow. And if it's a scam and he wants to rob us then it's 2v1 and we can beat him. One way it's okay, the other is amazing. We're in our last year of high school with less than a month left, and you only have until the summer Until you're 18 so we're not going to miss very much schooling.”

  Leo, though reluctantly, agrees. Leo and Jason follow derrick. He starts to lead them to a large schooling area.

  “Hey I thought you said that it was something about fantasy, not school. And that sure looks like a school.” Leo says disappointed.

  Jason shares the sentiment.

  “Oh it's a school. Just not the normal education type. This is the school of kai. It's name is Kai academy. Here you will learn Of kai and how to control it. Both of you have more kai than the average person. Jason you have about the same amount of kai as the average Kai user. Leo has a bit more. We will start right away, beginning with the basics.”

  Derrick says to them but Leo and Jason look a little confused.

  “I'm sorry but what's kai?” Jason asks.

  “Oh right. Kai is something that everything living has. It comes from the soul. It can be harnessed To use a kai craft or to Enhance strength, durability, and speed. Almost every person has a different kai craft though some bloodlines share a common kai craft. There's more to it but those are the basics. You guys should already know of this, most of the world does?”

  Kai academy is well known as the best school for kai in the world but Leo and Jason were sheltered by Jason's parents because they thought the world was dangerous.
