“And how are we supposed to do that?”

  Leo asks in surprise.

  “Well I think what you have to do to call upon your kai craft is…um…I think maybe…no that's not right…ah. What you have to do is summon almost all of your kai that you can, and output it but in a way that wouldn't fire it off like a bullet…wait no that's not it… oh wait I remember. You have to follow me towards the training area.”

  Leo looks at Jason questioningly. Jason looks back. They can sort of tell what they're both thinking of by reading their face. That guy just can't make up his mind. Leo rolls his eyes to say. I know right. Jason thinks in response. They finally arrive near a ball. Derrick points to it.

  “This little thing will read your kai and import the information directly into your brain of your kai craft. So just put your hand on the ball.”

  Jason immediately puts his hand on the ball.

  “Cool! I have something called kai bane Manipulation. I can absorb kai banes if they've been defeated or weak enough. I can summon them back once I've absorbed Them but summoning them takes a little kai. What's a kai bane again?”

  Derrick starts to smile again.

  “Kai banes are usually the things we'll be up against. They're created by people dying with either a low amount of kai or they're considered terrible and reincarnated as a kai bane. They're rated f, d, c, b, a, or s rank. F being the weakest, and s being the strongest. You'll probably start off with absorbing f ranks and maybe work your way up to s ranks. Anyway Leo, you're up next. Go ahead.”

  Leo hesitantly places his hand on the pedestal.

  “Um, is copy craft good? It said I can copy any kai craft after seeing it's use. But it takes more kai than the original user to utilize the new kai craft. Oh and I can't copy their proficiency. I imagine it'd be nice.”

  “Ooh copy craft. That's A nice one. Take a bit to master. You'll probably get a hold of it though.”

  Derrick takes a breath and continues speaking.

  “Well I suppose I should bring you to the other students. Follow me through the academy.”

  He leads Leo and Jason to a small classroom. ‘year one's’ it says above the door. They walk in and see three other people. They see about a 5’8 black haired teen with brown eyes. He looks back at Jason and Leo and just stares at them. Then they see a short 5’4 blond teen girl with brown eyes. She starts to look at them as if studying Them. Before They can even take in the sight of the last guy, he gets right in front of them and Shakes their hand.

  “So they agreed to join Mr. smite?”

  He says with excitement and Derrick chuckles slightly.

  “How many times have I told you to call me Derrick, Felix? Not Mr. smite. And yes, they did agree,”

  As Derrick takes a breath, Leo and Jason finally get a good look at Felix. He's about 5’8 with green eyes and brown hair.

  “These are your new classmates Leo and Jason. The other guy is Andrew Petit, the girl is Mia kune, and this is Felix tal.”

  Leo finally gets the chance to speak.

  “It's a bit of a small classroom, isn't it?”

  Derrick looks confused again.

  “Well I guess it is in comparison to a normal school. However this isn't a normal school. This is the average size of a classroom. There are 4 years of kai academy. Each class only gets 5 people. One class per year. meaning These are the only first Year's in all of kai academy.”
