Linnet didn't mind going to the grocery store with him and recommended some of her favorite scents when it comes to air fresheners, then accepted the rewards Bryan gave her and spent the rest of their walk back home enjoying her Ice Cream with a wide smile on her face.

  She didn't realize that she's still wearing his coat until ter after ying on bed for a while doing nothing other than staring at the ceiling of her room!

  Right when she was about to get up to give it back she realized that she could hear the sound of the shower running in Bryan's bathroom, "I guess someone rich like him wouldn't mind me taking his coat," Linnet decided to keep it but she had to look in the pockets first for anything personal which she might need to return, "What's this?" In the inner pocket she found a small box and a card.

  Just you being you, gold is nowhere near enough.

  Linnet read these words before opening the box.

  *Gasp*

  Inside it she found a perfect replica of the ring Linnet gave Bryan yesterday, just holding it on her hand she was immediately able to notice the difference in weight between the two.

  Clearly this one is made from true gold and the seal on the inside of the ring confirmed that it's a 24 karat.

  There was another card to guarantee the authenticity of this ring by the manufacturer which is a famous jewelry store on a well known street of this city.

  *Knock Knock*

  Linnet's mind was probably taking a nap because her feet took her to his door and once she was about to turn around to leave while hesitating if it's the right decision to seek this guy while she's in this confused.

  The door opened and here's Brian in a bathrobe using a towel to dry his hair, clearly fresh out from the bathroom after a hot shower.

  He smiled once he saw her still wearing his coat and holding the box in one of her hands, "I hope you liked my gift," Brian walked towards the cabinet and opened it to get some clothes, "Make yourself at home." He said while getting in the bathroom to change since there's nowhere else to do so.

  Linnet blushed once some naughty thoughts crept into her mind then shook her head before going back to close her door which she left open, she noticed the new mattress on the bed and decided to do something to busy herself instead of just sitting there thinking about all sorts of nonsense which would certainly drive her crazy.

  "You really didn't have to do that," Bryan came out from the bathroom and immediately noticed the fresh and clean bedsheets and pillow covers on his bed, "I owe you so much already." He said while heading to the kitchen area to prepare something to drink for both of them.

  Linnet stared at him in a daze before uttering without even processing the words coming out of her mouth, "Why are you being so kind to me?" She asked.

  "Would you like a Cappuccino or Hot Cocoa?"

  "Answer my question."

  Brian's movements halted and he turned to look at her, "No need to be anxious, I'd rather answer all your questions while enjoying something to drink."

  Linnet blushed and turned her head to look away while harrumphing cutely but she still replied : "Hot Cocoa."

  "Excellent choice." He complimented then returned to preparing the drinks.

  She rexed on the only chair in the room and kept staring at the ring after putting it on, from time to time she would spin that side then alternate to the other.

  "Here you go." Bryan put the cup in front of her then took a seat on the bed and crossed his legs while sipping from his cup.

  "Thanks." Linnet turned the chair to face him while taking her cup and held it close to her body with both hands but the look in her eyes was full of expectations and curiosity.

  *Sigh*

  Bryan released a deep sigh before opening his mouth to say : "I'm being kind to you because everything I did and everything I'm pnning to do in the future is to pay you back for what you did to me."

  "Huh! I don't understand. What did I do?" Linnet was so confused and asked while giving him a perplexed look.

  "I really don't know if you're going to believe me or not but I'm going to tell you everything anyway, I trust you enough to make your own decisions after hearing me out," Bryan looked her directly in the eyes while a helpless smile covered his face, "Everything started on a normal day..."

  Linnet listened to the story which didn't make sense in the beginning but in the end it naturally fit seamlessly once she added the way he's been behaving since yesterday when he gave her the rent.

  'Is that why he said the trajectory of my life would've taken a huge shift if I surrendered to that fatty's demands?' Linnet thought to herself while asking : "Did I really invite so many men to my room and get so wild after Mr Owen forced that two year "Deal" of free rent on me?"

  Bryan blushed once he remembered what it felt to experience hearing almost all of what happened in this girl's room and just nodded while thinking to himself : 'I better keep everything reted to the Zombie outbreak for myself for now or at least until Linnet trusts me enough.'

  Linnet sank deep in her thoughts for a while without saying anything before opening her mouth to say while watching Bryan take the cups and wash them in the sink : "Who's going to win the singing competition on..."

  Bryan paused for a second to recollect that detail from him memories before answering : "I didn't really watch that show," Linnet frown was quickly smoothened once she heard him add : "But I remember that blonde teenager girl winning it because she signed a long contract with some famous music pel and went on to become so famous with her first album before everything went downhill once she decided to participate in cinema and deputed in some shitty movie which ruined her career, it's so sad how these celebrities become so fragile and drown themselves in so much drinking, drugs, and scandals once some reporter write whatever they want to tarnish someone else's reputation to make themselves feel a little bit better about themselves because they most of the time envy those celebrities for their fame and lifestyle."

  "Who wins the elections next month? is it... or the other politician which just stepped up to compete for the seat of president?" Linnet made a mental note to keep track of that talent show in the weekend since it's the final episode and asked another question.

  "None of them actually. That new guy's son is going to commit a crime during his vacation in some private isnd his father owns in a country southeast which would throw the son in jail and cause a heavily tense political situation, once the rival attempt to fish in murky waters to add fuel to the fire he'd suffer the repercussions of his actions when the kid in jail confess to extremely sensitive details which rete to another crime one of his friends committed in the past which his father's rival did everything in his power to bury it in exchange for financial support from his friend's father who owns a conglomerate firm with roots and branches in almost every single industry. The one who's going to win is that dy acting as the governor of the district down south thanks to her efforts in taking care of the farmers' nd and needs which would catapult her to the president seat once the public get to hear about her focus-minded goals of fixing the economy and taking care of the urgent needs which the citizens of our country have been demanding the government to solve for many years now." Bryan went back to sit on the bed and calmly waited for Linnet to ask about anything that comes to mind.

  "Which part of the stock market is going up and which part is going down in the next month?"

  "That would be..."

  "Which company is going to make a killing?"

  "That would be..."

  "Would you put all your money on them right now?" Linnet asked while studying his expression like a hawk.

  Bryan smiled widely while taking his phone out from his pocket then unlocked it and opened the app, "I'd rather you do me the honor of buying those shares yourself," He handed her the phone and enjoyed seeing the shock, surprise, and joy on her face, "But we need to sell everything before the end of the month since that company is owned by the same conglomerate and the prices of these shares would take a severe hit once the dirty news come to surface for the public to see and hear."

  "Alright!" Linnet took the phone and started adding the numbers and filling the details, she was so excited and overwhelmed by the trust he's giving her.

  "Also make sure to leave me a thousand or so because without that money I'd have to earn some more from the betting apps." Bryan said once Linnet was about to use everything on his account to buy the shares.

  "Got it." Linnet nodded then handed the phone back to Bryan to confirm the deal with his own fingerprint plus his password.

  Bryan showed her the messages he received and the current amount of money he has left in his account and she smiled cutely back at him.

  "You should probably rest and I still need a shower. Goodnight then." Linnet said once she realized how awkward it became after everything was revealed.

  "I'll see you tomorrow in the diner when I'm done taking care of some trivial matters with my professor." Bryan nodded then id down on his bed to rex while thinking : 'This mattress is really comfy indeed... worth every penny.'

  Linnet closed the door behind her after stealing one st gnce at him then went back to her room.
