"Be a man and admit that the only reason you come to this restaurant is because they hire sexy chicks to work as waitresses' which makes you just another rich pervert on the block." The third guy smiled triumphantly after saying that.
Bryan smiled before looking towards the diner and waved towards his neighbor while answering : "I've got to admit... these girls are beautiful and beauty deserves all appreciatio-" He took a swift step to the side before shuffling his feet forward while bending his waist to avoid the whip-like leather belt which it's metal part whizzed past his head "Whoa there!" He said while straightening his upper body to avoid the kick from the third guy which aimed for his face after Bryan avoided both weapons from the first two men.
Right when the first man was about to use the piece of wood to strike horizontally from right to left instead of downward vertically like before, "Aaahh!" Sudden and unexpected pain from his back caused his spine to arch backwards but once he took a look to check he was surprised and maddened by the fact that his own belt-bearing friend is the cause of all of this! "What the fuck are you doing?" The first man asked while holding himself back from swinging the piece of wood in his hands at his own ally instead.
"S-sorry. I lost my footing." The second man said while getting up.
Clearly nobody besides Bryan is aware that he's in fact in much deeper trouble now after he forced the muscles around these important joints of his lower body to undergo all that twisting motions while he's in that condition.
Even when the second man did his best to cover it up with an apologetic expression towards the first, he looked like he was about to cry!
Which caused the first man to be shocked by the extreme apology he's receiving while unaware that he himself was is donning a simir expression since his shoulder is killing him right now and his vision is still fuzzy and his ears are still ringing since this heavy rain doesn't seem like it's making his bad condition any better at all.
While the two of them were distracted Bryan had already circled away from the middle of their group while avoiding a few kicks and punches from the third guy who had terrible form and below average speed.
'I'm certain that I can dodge this guy for hours and days without him touching the edge of my clothes but I probably shouldn't do that, besides him getting tired is him actually getting more and more confident in himself of receiving nothing in return to all his attacks.'
Bryan suddenly advanced instead of retreating while dipping his upper body to the left and kicking with his right exactly at the moment this third guy was about to uncork another right straight.
Poor guy was about to celebrate a successful attempt of cornering Bryan once his back was against the wall he'd finally get to slug him right in the face with that right, but his left leg was suddenly pushed out of position mid-swing and his body leaned on-top of his enemy who suddenly squatted while grapping his own legs before straightening his body while tossing him to the wall which he crashed against with his back that felt like it fragmented instantly.
Unfortunately that wasn't the end since his body slid downwards thanks to gravity which caused the third guy to hit his head and twist his neck but he was quite lucky since his head nded on a trash bag which cushioned his fall.
Bryan shook his head once he saw a man swing the piece of wood at him with shaky hands between swings while the other struggled to find his bance between swings with the belt which added to the damage of his body instead of the enemy.
The fourth man clearly had no intention of joining the fight once he saw the fate of his friend the troublemaker who started all this being buried in the garbage out cold on a rainy day.
Red and Blue light filled the street and the siren plus the bright and blinding fshlight focused on them caused the two men who were intoxicated by the adrenaline rush to suddenly feel spent and exhausted as if they were fighting in the battlefield for hours!
"Drop your weapons!" The strict shout caused them to let go of the piece of wood and the belt and finally realize that it's freezing being outside soaked by the rain, their breathing was hurried and their hearts felt like they were going to leap out of their chests.
Bryan on the other hand just removed his hair from his face and pushed it backwards before calmly raising his hands and waited for the two police officers to exit the vehicle, turning to look towards Linnet inside the diner he smiled while showing her the victory sign then winked.
Riley snickered in amusement and was about to say something to her friend but stopped once she looked up and saw Linnet blushing deeply while in a daze.
What followed afterwards was everyone getting back inside the diner with the two police officers taking statements from everyone while enjoying hot coffee and snacks.
Bryan accepted a towel from Riley who gave him the thumps up signal while gesturing with her head towards Linnet who suddenly kept avoiding having any eye-contact with him.
The officers called an ambunce to take care of the injured men and the third man was still unconscious as the medics stretchered him into the car and took him and his friends to the hospital.
"We have the camera footage and the witnesses' statements for this incident, now that we have your phone number and address we shall contact you if we need anything else but try to avoid such conflict as much as possible in the future." The police officer was in his te forties and smiling widely as he patted Bryan on his shoulder.
"Yes sir." Bryan on the other hand was in complete agreement since he considers the whole incident as being silly and childish.
"Are you sure you don't want to press any charges against them?" The police officer asked once again before closing the report note.
"Nah. I'm sure they were just in a bad mood when the weather flipped all of a sudden today, thankfully no one was hurt and I hope that fellow would regain conscious soon. Poor fellow... even his friends didn't like his attitude, what a night huh!" Bryan said.
The officer waved as if saying : "I've seen worse." Then turned to leave the restaurant which had only the kitchen staff and the two beautiful waitresses plus Bryan inside it after the customers left once they gave their statements.
"Let's go. I'll walk you home."
"A-alright."
Riley had to nudge her friend to give an answer then dragged Linnet to change their clothes but both of them weren't prepared for this weather at all, short skirts and small blouses or shirts was all they had in their cabinets.
"Here." Bryan handed Riley the umbrel before taking off his coat and putting it on Linnet who attempted to avoid him but his hands were quick in getting hold of her delicate shoulders and calming her with a gentle touch.
Riley sniggered once she saw her friend blush and lower her head shyly to hide the expression on her face, but the next moment it was her turn to blush once she felt Bryan's hands on her own shoulders with the warmth of his jacket and his distinctive manly scent.
"Now it's not my fault if you girls get sick." Bryan said while pushing the door to get out and didn't seem bothered at all when he stood under the rain since his clothes were already wet from before anyway.
Riley huddled close to Linnet and both girls left the diner.
"You did good in dealing with the annoying ruffians, come to the diner whenever you're in the mood for a treat... this sister got you covered." Ridley said.
Bryan smiled while saying : "I'm not sure this is a good idea, I do eat a lot you know."
Linnet giggled once she saw her friend hesitate, clearly Ridley was shying away from her previous offer after realizing how much it would cost her to satisfy this man's appetite.
"Let him pay for his damn food, he doesn't need your favor anyway." Linnet said while snatching the umbrel and the jacket from Ridley who gred at her once she felt the cold wind on her now exposed skin.
"This isn't over between us you traitor!" Ridley said before turning to run inside the building where she lives.
Linnet ignored the threat and handed Bryan his jacked while moving closer so that both of them can be shielded from the rain together.
The silence made the mood extremely awkward for the girl who wished if he'd say anything to lighten the mood a bit.
"This month is going to be the st for me with us being neighbors in that building." Bryan said.
"Uh-huh." Linnet voiced her reply unconsciously while deep inside she was suddenly overcome with emotions of sadness and a bit of loss.
"But I wish if we'd move together out of that pce," He looked towards her and lowered his head so that he can get a better look at her face since she's lowering her head, "It's up to you if you want to share and live together with me or keep being neighbors, there's so much I want to know about you and much more I want to say to you about myself."
Linnet's mind was bnk after hearing Bryan and it took all of her courage just to raise her head and steal a gnce at him before quickly lowering her head again in panic once their eyes met.
'He's being serious! What should I do? That was so sudden, is he asking to commit himself to me in the future?' Poor girl's mind was operating at a hundred miles per second.
Bryan didn't press her for an answer which Linnet appreciated once the silence returned as they walked home.
But she didn't pull her hand away when he grabbed hers, now they were both holding the umbrel.
