About the author & the beginning of The Age of Spring

  Hi all,

I know you're here for The Age of Spring. But I'm a little selfish! I want a page too.

My author name/pseudonym is Page Mars.

Page just happened to be what I went by in video games and social accounts, so I could keep my private life separate, and people never asked for my real name.

(I highly suggest using pseudos, and not just because "pseudo" sounds neat). People are creepy! You're not one of them, are you?

And if you've run into me before somewhere, Hello!

I've always loved writing. Poetry is where I started, but when I read stories that were laced with powerful symbolism, I started to love fiction even more.

  I'm talking about stories like:

  The Lottery by Shirley Jackson

The Most Dangerous Game by Richard Connell

Lord of the Flies by William Golding

All great stories. But do I write the same way? NOPE.

I haven't written in maybe 10 years before this project, so it feels like I'm scraping off rust. And I've NEVER done anything like this before.

But I live day by day thinking of stories, daydreaming of possibilities, worlds, and characters. I've always wanted to write something meaningful. But I never thought I had the talent, or the time.

If you spot this story on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.

The start of The Age of Spring

Do you read webtoons? Because I do! I. Was. Addicted.

There was one day I had the thought, 'I could make a webtoon'.

All the advice says that if it's your first, start with a short story. I had to think of something...

So I thought about electric vehicles.

Why the heck are we told we need to switch to them?

Fuel emissions leading to global warming & Fossil fuel depletion.

Holy crap. Do you know how many things we use every day that were created with or rely on fossil fuels?

Rabbit hole after rabbit hole, and ay caramba, the future is bleak. But I'm speculating.

We have a world. I had only learned after the fact, that I had built a "dystopia".

After figuring out what I wanted to do... I spent about 6 months drawing and learning my way around Clip Studio Paint. I eventually created ONE chapter after 6 months.

I also wrote that chapter into words. I showed my family my webtoon panels and my written chapter, and they asked me if I had thought about writing it instead of making a webtoon.

  So here we are.

I worked together how my plot could translate to writing, and I realized my plot was going to take 3 books.

  "Short story" my ass.

I stopped my webtoon project, but I do chapter cover art for each sequence, so I'm still keeping up the art! Even if it's not as much.

Maybe I'll still consider doing a webtoon one day. For now, I am happily publishing here. :)

I am practicing my writing skills and trying to make an enjoyable story.

Since serial novels and writing fiction are new to me, I humbly accept advice from readers and other authors.

(Don't be shy to drop comments, or post on my wall). Any feedback is appreciated.

Thank you for reading and for your support!
