The Slayer, shouldering his newly upgraded "Demon-Steel Super Shotgun," was tearing a path through the labyrinth of the Abyss's 2nd Layer.
Although the penetration issue was solved, a nasty new enemy type had appeared—the "Wraith Medic."
These monsters had no physical bodies. They drifted erratically like smoke, releasing a disgusting green toxic mist that constantly healed the wounds of surrounding demons.
Bang!
The Slayer blasted one apart. However, the Wraith merely dispersed into mist before quickly reforming.
Physical immunity? Or rather, the killing wasn't thorough enough.
The Slayer stopped in his tracks.
He turned his visor toward Singularity.
Singularity was sitting in the engineering vehicle, tinkering with a purple-gold gourd sealed with a Daoist talisman.
"Great Warrior, I know what you're annoyed about," Singularity shook the gourd. "Those Wraiths are pure energy forms. Ordinary fire can't burn them. You need this."
Singularity peeled off the seal.
Whoosh!
A wave of heat—colorless and formless, yet hot enough to distort the surrounding space—surged from the gourd.
This was "Samadhi True Fire."
In legends, this divine fire could burn away the essence, energy, and spirit, specifically countering demons and ghosts. It was a flame Singularity had... borrowed... from the Tushita Palace back in Heaven.
"But this fire is too domineering; ordinary bullets can't hold it," Singularity explained. "So, I made a batch of special... 'Glass Capsule Slugs.'"
Singularity held out a box of shells.

The warheads weren't metal. They were made of a transparent, crystal-like material. Inside each slug, a wisp of extremely thin, colorless flame danced madly.
"I call these 'True Fire Dragon's Breath Rounds.'"
"Once they hit a target, the capsule shatters. The Samadhi True Fire will attach itself like a parasite, burning along the target's spiritual veins. Whether it's a solid body or a ghost, once it touches a spark, it burns to ash."
The Slayer took the shells.
He could feel the dangerous temperature radiating through his fingertips.
He loaded these two art-piece-like shells into the chamber.
Ka-chunk.
Around the corner of the maze, three Wraith Medics drifted out, spewing poison mist. They let out mocking laughs, thinking this physical warrior still had no way to hurt them.
The Slayer raised the gun.
He didn't pull the trigger immediately.
He waited. Waiting for them to group up.
Just as the three Wraiths tried to merge to cast an ultimate ability...
BANG!!!
The sound of this shot was light. It sounded like a glass bottle smashing on the floor.
But the effect was apocalyptic.
In that instant, the muzzle didn't spew a tongue of fire.
Instead, it sprayed a colorless, distorted ripple of air.
The moment this ripple touched the first Wraith, it detonated.
WHOOSH—!!!
The originally colorless fire, upon contacting the evil spirit body, instantly turned into a blinding Tri-Color Divine Fire (Red, Gold, White).
That was the color of fuel (demon souls) being ignited.
The fire seemed to have a life of its own. It instantly devoured the first Wraith, then traveled along their spiritual link, jumping directly to the other two.
"SCREEEECH—!!!"
A shrill, soul-tearing shriek echoed through the maze.
It wasn't the sound of flesh burning; it was the sound of souls being incinerated bit by bit.
In less than two seconds.
The three "immortal" Wraith Medics didn't even leave residue behind. They vanished into nothingness.
Even the air, polluted by the poison mist, was burned clean by this domineering fire.
The Slayer looked at the shimmering void ahead.
He nodded.
This fire had a kick.
And, he discovered an unexpected bonus.
As the demons burned to death, the [Armor] bar on his HUD instantly refilled to max.
[Passive Trigger: True Fire Body Tempering.]
[Effect: Burning enemy souls converts to Armor Energy.]
The Slayer's eyes lit up.
The old Flame Belch only dropped a few small shards.
This gun? It was basically a "One-Click Full Restore" artifact.
He looked toward the deeper darkness ahead.
There were more Wraiths. More mobs.
Those were... Infinite Armor Packs.
Firearms vs. Spells.
Who said Cultivation couldn't involve guns?
As long as the ammo hits hard enough, the Gatling Bodhisattva is still a Bodhisattva.
The Slayer loaded a fresh shell and strode forward.
"Next Chapter: Field Test. The Slayer takes his new gun to find demons for target practice. He decides to visit that 'Steel Hive' that looks the toughest."
