Chapter 35: Energy of the Oil Cauldron Hell

The air was filled with a nauseating smell of burnt grease.

  Seventh Layer: Oil Cauldron Hell.

This was no longer flat land. As far as the eye could see, it was a boiling sea of oil.

Floating on the surface were countless massive black cauldrons, tens of meters in diameter, like isolated islands. Inside the cauldrons, golden hot oil churned, occasionally bursting a huge oil bubble that splattered scalding droplets when it popped.

  Sizzle!

A drop of hot oil landed on Slayer's pauldron, actually burning a small pit into it.

The oil here wasn't mortal cooking oil, but Corpse Oil mixed with Hell Sulfur, possessing an extremely low ignition point and strong corrosiveness.

"Big Hero, careful!" Singularity activated a fully enclosed force field shield. "Once this oil touches you, even an indestructible body will be fried crisp!"

Slayer stood on the edge of a giant cauldron.

The iron plate under his feet was scalding.

Suddenly, the calm oil surface exploded.

A massive "Oil Glutton" (Oil-Slicked Beast), resembling a whale, burst out. Covered in burning grease, it spewed a stream of high-temperature oil from its open maw.

Slayer side-rolled, dodging the oil stream.

The stream hit where he had just stood, instantly melting a large hole through the thick iron plate.

  Splash!

The beast crashed back into the oil cauldron, kicking up oil waves ten meters high.

This was an extremely disadvantageous battlefield. Footholds were small, the enemy was elusive, and the environment itself was lethal.

  Slayer didn't retreat.

  He quickly scanned his surroundings.

There were chains connecting these giant cauldrons.

  He started his run-up.

  Thud! Thud! Thud!

Slayer moved on the swaying chains as if walking on flat ground, rushing toward a platform in the center of the oil cauldrons.

The Oil Glutton burst out from beneath his feet again, trying to swallow this little bug dancing on the chains in one gulp.

In mid-air, Slayer pulled out his Super Shotgun.

But he didn't shoot the monster.

  Meat Hook fired!

The barbed chain hook instantly dug into a beam overhead. Slayer used the momentum to swing, flying into mid-air like Tarzan, avoiding the beast's bloody maw.

While in mid-air, Slayer switched weapons.

  Rocket Launcher!

  Lock-on Burst!

Three micro-missiles trailing flames drilled precisely into the beast's still-open mouth.

  Boom! Boom! Boom!

Muffled explosions sounded inside the beast. It roared in pain, its body expanding violently, then crashed heavily back into the oil cauldron.

But this didn't kill it. The oil here seemed to give it extremely strong regenerative abilities.

Singularity was shouting: "Big Hero! It's made of oil! Physical attacks are half as effective! We have to drain the oil!"

  Drain the oil?

  Slayer landed on the platform.

He looked at the massive oil cauldron beneath his feet.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

And the rusted drain valve connected to the bottom of the cauldron.

  Slayer put away his weapon.

He grabbed the valve wheel, bigger than a millstone, with both hands.

  Creak—Creak—!

  The sound of twisting metal.

The valve wouldn't budge. It had been rusted shut for thousands of years.

Slayer's muscles bulged, and his Praetor Suit emitted the hum of limit operation.

  Open... for me!

  Snap!

  He didn't unscrew it.

Slayer ripped the entire valve, along with half the pipe, right out.

  Whoosh—!!!

Black boiling oil gushed out from the breach like a waterfall, flowing toward the abyss of the lower layer.

As the oil level dropped rapidly, the beast hiding in the oil finally revealed its true face—it was actually a bloated Mancubus, just wearing a thick layer of "Oil Armor."

  Now, the oil was gone.

It lay awkwardly on the dry cauldron bottom like a snail stripped of its shell.

  Slayer jumped down.

  Vrrrrm.

  Chainsaw engaged.

The following scene was too brutal; Daoist Singularity silently looked away (and incidentally picked up a chunk of High-Purity Fuel Crystal dropped by the beast).

  Battle over.

Singularity looked at the still-spewing breach and the high-energy Corpse Oil flowing all over the ground, burning.

His occupational disease kicked in again.

"This oil... its combustion heat value is ten times that of gasoline! Letting it flow away is such a waste!"

Singularity immediately pulled out a set of turbo generator units (obsolete goods he brought down from the Celestial Court).

"Big Hero! Do me a favor! Plug that nozzle! Connect it to this pipe!"

Slayer wiped the oil off his chainsaw.

  He looked at the generator.

He walked over, lifted the generator weighing several tons with one hand, and stuffed it directly into the oil-spewing breach.

  Clang!

  A perfect fit.

The scalding Corpse Oil impacted the turbine blades, and the generator began to spin wildly.

  Hum——————

The indicator lights instantly turned red.

  [Output Power: 5000 kW.]

[Energy Type: Biomass Energy (Corpse Oil).]

  [Status: Stable Output.]

"It works!" Singularity clapped excitedly. "The Underworld's Second Power Station is successfully grid-connected! The lighting for the Eighteenth Layer of Hell will rely entirely on this pot from now on!"

"Don't let this oil burn for nothing, hook up the generator!"

Slayer looked at the roaring machine. Although he wasn't interested in electricity, he agreed with this logic of "Waste Utilization."

As long as it's not wasted, it's good.

He jumped out of the cauldron bottom, the oil stains on his body evaporating automatically under the high temperature.

  "Punishment vs Energy."

Oil cauldrons once used to fry people had now become torches lighting up the darkness.

"Next chapter, Eighth Layer: Bull Pit Hell. The ground there is full of mad bulls. Slayer seems to be out of a vehicle? Maybe it's time to change mounts."
