The big iron gates loomed over, casting a big menacing shadow.
Aurelis' carriage arrived at the gates, and two guards stopped him.
One yawned, his eyes flickering off and on.
He muttered "regular checkup."
The guard wore his helmet, which had marks and cuts across it, his chest plate, a heavy iron suit with a deep claw mark in the middle. His eyes reflected the sun, even in the darkness of the helmet.
The knight beside him wasnt much different, a purple eyed human with brown hair.
He held his helmet in one hand, while holding the hilt of his sword with the other.
Aurelis leaned backwards, pointing right besides Vex "Vex, hand me that paper over there."
Vex looked at the paper, and handed it to Aurelis "there you go"
Aurelis handed the paper to the purple eyed guard.
Vex lightly tapped Aurelis' shoulder "Care to explain what's going on?"
Aurelis exhaled "Pretty simple, their security here is unreasonably heavy. So I had to trade our leftover food for an invitation to.. here."
Vex nodded "Ah, I see.."
The purple eyed guard interrupted their conversation, exclaiming "Paper looks fine, you may proceed."
The guard went back to his spot, accidently dropping his sword.
He awkwardly bent down to grab it, fumbling the hilt in the process. He flailed his hand around, gesturing his co-workers to open the gates.
The iron gates slowly opened, and Vex's eyes widened "Woah, this place is huge!" he said looking around "So many houses.. and, a castle in the middle? weird."
Aurelis turned his head towards Vex, and sighed "Yea, while generally houses of rich people are built from stone, while poorer people can barely afford wooden ones."
Aurelis rolled his eyes "The mayor built his own castle, and his own golden statue, to show his oh so 'mightiness'"
Vex stuck his head out of the carriage "A golden statue?! where?"
He looked around, his eyes darted into multiple directions.
After a short while, they passed by a big golden statue, of a man with long hair, and a big smile in a prideful pose. The label read "The Awakener"
Vex nudged Aurelis "Say, who is this awakener guy?"
Aurelis sighed "Like I just said, just another show off.. All I know is that he is just considered very strong."
Vex rolled his eyes "You seem to not like this person at all"
Aurelis glanced towards Vex, and took a deep breath "..I don't even know this guy."
Vex sighed "So anyways, now that we've reached this town can you finally tell me what business you have here?"
Aurelis leaped out of the horse carriage, choosing his words carefully "I am here.. to meet an.. old friend."
Vex pouted "You never tell me anything.."
He stepped out of the horse carriage, following Aurelis' steps.
They walked past multiple buildings, Aurelis walked around, deliberately checking each house twice.

The town had crowds everywhere, kids were running around, playing. A newly opened bakery they passed by smelled of fresh pastries.
Alleyways in-between some buildings, where sketchy deals occurred.
After some more walking, Aurelis finally stopped in front of one of the houses.
He stepped forward, and rubbed his index finger on the wall.
The ice wielder pulled his finger away, revealing hidden ink.
Aurelis took a deep breath before stepping up the stairs.
Vex awkwardly followed.
Aurelis knocked on the door, and after a short moment, the door creaked open, slowly.
A breeze flowed through the door, and inside, A short elf, only a little smaller than Aurelis, with short yellow hair and sharp blue eyes.
He eyes Aurelis down, and with a stern voice, he exclaims "Risu, took you long enough. who is this?"
Vex held his laugh in, and whispered "Risu"
Aurelis exhaled, jabbing Vex's guts "He's.. just a friend of mine, don't worry about him."
The elf sighed "I wont bother.. get in" the elf walks inside, gesturing them to follow.
The house was filled with wooden furniture, vases of flowers scattered around, giving the house the smell of the outside.
On one of the walls, a breeze of wind flowed out of nothing, giving a fresh sense to the house.
Vex stopped momentarily in front of the breeze, exclaiming to himself "Woah, I didn't even know that was possible!"
He rushed back to Aurelis, nudging him as they follow the elf "so.. that's your friend?"
Aurelis sighed "How bothersome.."
He barely raised his hand, lazily pointing at the elf in front of them "This is Akuya.."
Aurelis turns left, pointing at a library in the corner of the house "And this is,"
His hand stretched, pointing at said library "Akito"
Vex looks at Aurelis, and then at the elf sitting in the library. The elf wore glasses, but other than that was identical to Akito.
"You're... pointing at the same person.. but wait, weren't we just following him?"
Aurelis sighed "You'll get used to it.."
Vex raised his hand to ask another question, but then Akuya interrupts their conversation.
He leaned on a door, deeper into the house "Risu, I would recommend that your friend wouldnt follow us."
Aurelis sighed, turning to Vex "Vex, Ill be back, just.. stay here. don't worry, I trust these guys."
He leaves Vex in the living room, and follows Akuya.
Vex took a deep breath, dragging himself over to a chair near the elf who is reading a book.
Vex bluntly asked "So.. are you a clone or something?"
Akito flipped a page and answered, slightly irritated by the sudden interruption "Isn't it.. obvious? we're twins."
