January 26th, 1919

We did exactly what we were going to do today. We packed up our camp and began going south. It is so cold that I cannot feel my hands. I need to check for frostbite in everyone in the next few minutes. Hypothermia is also a big concern for me right now.

While we were walking, Angelo asked, "Do you think that we really are doomed now?"

Lawrence joined in, "Even if we get to the village and stay there for the while? Until it's warmer?"

The author's narrative has been misappropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon.

I shook my head, "That's not what I'm worried about. I'm not worried about staying in the village. I'd love to stay in the village. It's the getting there that's the problem."

"The getting there? We aren't awfully too far," Lawrence informed me.

"Actually, it's just getting colder and finding it again is going to be hard. Besides, we also have to stay alive this next few days. I have a feeling that this will not go so well for us. This is why we are doomed," I told them.

  It's depressing.
