V1 could smell an off odor in the air while them and the guards annihilated the horde of beast that attacked them. Vegis didn’t notice it while he was too busy multitasking to keep track of all the clones and giving them commands when they needed it. V1 was the only one in the area who noticed it and when he asked the others if they could smell it, they said no. It knew something wasn’t right with the smell but couldn’t describe why. Before it could continue thinking, another wave of beast was coming. In the sky, V1 sees 3 mutated individuals since 2 were on fire and one seemed to be made of slime. As they approached, V1 could smell the odor more and then the others noticed it then. It was at that moment that V1 realised these beasts had done, but it was far too late for them to stop it.

  The slime pegasus crashed into a pile of corpses at the foot of the wall before flying up with mist trailing it. Looking down, one could see that all the liquids of the cadavers were sucked out into the mist. When it reconvened with the flaming things, it flapped its mighty wings and sent the mist onto the wall, condensing into slime similar to the pegasus. The 2 flaming beast swooped down and ignited the slime before flying towards the north to the east hub. The pegasus’s body then split open and spat out something that hit the slime on the wall, causing a massive explosion and removing a chunk out of the wall. The explosion made a chain reaction which caused any large chunk of slime nearby to explode and repeat until the wall fell.

  The southeast hub was still standing but was heavily damaged by the explosions. The doors had to be pried open since it wouldn’t open naturally anymore. V1 was stuck in trouble since the relative closeness of the many slime bombs had killed several of the guards, both abled body ones and incapacitated ones. V1 suffered some organ damage from the shockwaves but could still stand and fight. It was the one to open the door but had to do its best to arrive at the east hub to hinder the slime pegasus to stop another part of the wall from falling. As it ran the best it could do, a horde of bugs attacked V1 but couldn’t impede its travel there.

  V23 saw V1 coming around the same time the pegasus was visible. They had already warned the other guards so some got away from the windows and went outside to fight the flaming beasts. The beast seemed to be undamaged from the onslaught that was released on them. The metal bullets vaporized before impact and the lasers did nothing to it. The guards dropped their weapons and swapped to spells after seeing this. Circles of words and numbers appeared in front of them and unleashed water and ice spells at the bird. This was ineffective as the water turned into steam as soon as it touched the bird. Vegis took control over both V1 and V3 to make a compound spell. The 2 of them ran towards each other and kneeled when they reached each other. Vegis focused their mana into their left arm, trying to unleash the element that helped bind Vegis and Mitra together.

  Blue light started to gather into a ball between their left hands as their disguise failed and their gray skin was released. Their arms started to frost over and reached their shoulders. The hands close to the freezing light soon became covered in ice that slowly formed a gauntlet around each of the hands. The light grew to the size of a twin size bed before sending a pressure wave that separated the 2 clones, giving V1 a spear and V3 a gun. The temperature around them dropped to the negatives as they turned to attack the impossibly hot creatures. V1 threw the spear and on impact instantly turned the entire burning beast to ice, flame included. V3 shot the other one multiple times, actively shrinking it until one shot hit something important and freezing a small pearl that then dropped near the ice statue that was the first beast.

  While the clones were dealing with the flaming ones, the other guards were throwing flames at the slime pegasus, hoping to cause it to explode far away from the wall. Every time the flames managed to hit it, it would just eject the burning pieces. It was in the middle of running away when the clones dealt with both of the flaming ones. V3 tossed V1 the gun and it transformed into another spear. It took aim and threw the spear, just barely managing to get it, and freezing it whole. As it fell to the ground far from the wall, a loud scream could be heard as the northeast was seen being set on fire. Vegis was busy coordinating the clones before being struck by something. It was a small rock that came from the entrance of the basement.

  Vegis ran to one of the many clone doors and signaled for the others to come in and run to another location. This hall leads to the central area of the labs and would give them distance from the danger. V2 was dug out of the ash by V3 while V1 was running towards the flaming northeast hub. As it got near there, it could hear nothing but the roar of the flames. It burst into the hub but could only see flaming skeletons and the other door being wide open. V1 looked out to the forest and noticed the wave of land creatures coming to the wall.
