Vegis, Mitra, and Boreal were all heading to a private vehicle lot with their stuff to head back to the house Vegis bought. In front of the door was Drake who was currently typing a message to someone when he saw Vegis and the others. Drake waved at them to come closer to him since he had a couple of things to tell them. “Hey guys, I know that you guys are going on your mandated break, so I got a couple of things to tell you guys about your home. We managed to increase the security measures to add a perimeter that will tell you if someone has entered from any directions and also we have stationed some guards to live kinda near your home so they can arrive if any problems were to arrive. We have also bought the land near it to expand the forest so it is harder to see what happens inside. The last thing you should know is that to allow this to happen, a large facility is planned to be built nearby to house some of our important guests if they do not like the underground”.
Vegis lifted an eyebrow and asked, “Why is there a need to make more space for them?” to which Drake replied with, “The increase of mana and the multiple tears has made the importance of this planet to skyrocket since unlike our unnatural tears, these seem to be incredibly stable and the possibility of them to release something deadly is incredibly low”. Vegis nodded at this and asked, “Is there anything else we need to know?”. It took some time for Drake to make a response. It was only after 3 minutes did Drake finally make his response. “It is likely that one of the elders will be coming to watch over all the operations happening here. I would prefer that you try to not get into any trouble since while they out rank me in the home system, they will have equal authority to Doel and me while they are here”.
The three of them gave a thumbs up at this and entered the vehicle. It was an uneventful trip across the ocean and they landed the next day. They unload their luggage and enter another vehicle to go to their house. When they were two miles away from the house, Vegis could see trees all around them that weren’t there before. In the distance, towering above the trees, were multiple buildings halfway through construction. Only one of the buildings looked like it was done on the outside and it was the tallest of the group. It took another 10 minutes for them to arrive at the driveway to the house. When they parked and put everything up, the yard didn’t look any different so they walked around the property. Mitra was the first of the group to notice there are sheds that now litter the forest. Every five minutes, one would see a new shed that was distinctly different than one seen previously.

Every 5 sheds they saw had someone in it. They wore a guard outfit and nodded at the group when they walked by. Other than that, there were more cameras, the occasional drone, wires under the earth that seemed to send signals to detect things, and more paths around the yard that formed from foot traffic. The grass that appeared from nowhere spread across the forest and mixed with the local flora, which made the undergrowth thick and varied. Vegis could vaguely hear wild life in the trees and in the grass but he couldn’t see them since they seemed to run away from his line of sight. When they were exploring the woods that surround them, they headed back to the house and grabbed some stuff to eat. They spent the rest of the day just lazing around the house and occasionally going outside to stretch their legs and play. Boreal loved the anomalous grass that grew everywhere and they seemed to follow every word and whim it gave them. Vegis noticed that the lifeforce released from the strange grass wrapped around Boreal’s arm and condensed into patterns.
Vegis doesn’t fully understand what they were doing but it didn’t seem to harm Boreal so he ignored it. He released the clones from the pods to allow them familiarize themselves with the property and to see how much they have grown since they left here. The DIY obstacle track they made was still there and actually improved upon, probably by the new guards who could get bored. Vegis guessed this since there were boot imprints left on the platforms and the land around it had paths made. V4 was having a blast running around the trees that he could damage. V1,2, and 3 were climbing the trees to try and see what it looked like to be above them. Vegis took control of V1 and used his mana to create a large gust of wind that picked them up and deposited them on top of the canopy. The sun was setting and a light breeze hit them. There was nothing but the green tops of the trees as far as the eye can see with the sky above them turn a dark blue, the distant horizon turning yellow and orange, and just above it was a purple.
They sat there until it fully set and Vegis could feel a special feeling pass through the connections between them. True peace.
