Drake’s face scrunched up at this question. “I could, however, I don’t know if they would pick up. The south labs are currently dealing with a large outbreak of insane prisoners and a stampede happening at once. Thankfully, it seems like prisoners and the animals are fighting each other but they can’t do much since most of their stuff will get intercepted.”(Drake) “Well, do you know anything else about the drink that could explain what happened?”(Vegis) “I don’t remember the full name since it's very long, but I do remember people using it for ceremonies and rituals before. They never explain why they did it and most of the folks I know just drink it.”(Drake).
Vegis was holding his head in his hands trying to think of why this happened when Drake asked a question. “What did you mean early when you said they said something?” It was now Vegis’s turn to scrunch his face as he debated telling him the truth. He eventually caved and answered. “We could hear the voice of what I think is the god of the sun and the god of the moon”. This stunlocked Drake for a good 10 minutes and the others decided to watch a show while Drake processed this information. When Drake finally broke out of his daze, he asked them why they thought it was the gods that spoke to them. “You remember that dream I had a while back? The hole had the same presence as them.”(Vegis) “Ahh. But why would they do this?”(Drake). Vegis just shrugged at this and ate more of the food on the table.
They continued to talk and eat until dawn. When they were done, they had a sample of all the food Drake had in storage. Most of them were pretty good and nothing strange happened. Boreal was asleep when they left the room and Mitra was carrying them. They walked from the office to the dorm that was next to it. The lights were on and the first floor had a couple of tables of food and a group of people watching a movie in the main lobby. They went up the stairs and headed to their floor. When Vegis opened the door to the floor, he stared at the walls and noticed that the new walls seemed to have a strange property to them that suppresses passive arcane things. The connections he held felt weaker and the mana in the air seemed to be absorbed into the walls and directed to the basement.
He was curious about this but just wanted to relax a bit before he went to bed. Vegis grabbed Boreal out of Mitra’s arms when she said she was thirsty. Vegis walked over to the bedroom and placed the kid into bed. He walked out and saw Mitra with two cups and the video up. He just sat next to her and grabbed one of the cups. They spent the next 3 hours just watching videos and drinking juice. They would occasionally talk about some of the mistakes made in the video editing and make small jokes. As time passed, Vegis felt sleepy and eventually fell asleep on the couch. Mitra saw this and went to the bedroom to grab the blanket on Vegis’s bed and covered him in it. She turned the screen off and put up the cups. Mitra then took a seat near the window and thought back on what was spoken to her.

The words flowed into her ears like warm honey. The voice talks about the fact that she was unadapted to this age and that they will fix that. She remembers the sensation of the light crawling down her spine, coating it in metal and giving Mitra senses that she never had. She was connected to something that was even more ethereal than the link between her and Vegis, it held knowledge and power beyond anything she could even imagine. Mitra recalls the fact that the more she indulges in the connection, the more the light crept along her nerves and changed them. It radically changed the speed of her thoughts. If her old thoughts were like a messaging pigeon and now she had high speed fiber optic cables. Mitra’s mind felt as though it had been expanded two fold. She noticed details she had never seen before. Originally, she could see the particles of dust in the air, and now she could see the individual pieces of it.
Mitra sat still, took a deep breath, and dived into the LSN
When Mitra entered the rooms of the others, it felt like the space itself was rejecting her existence. When she was done exploring the house, she walked out the front door and entered the rest of the LSN
