Vegis went to the dorms and went to bed after cleaning up everything. Vegis got up at noon to eat lunch and do some prepping to go back to the lab that night. The cafeteria was packed and it was dark by the time he got back to the dorms. He checked the clock and saw that he had an hour until his shift was to start. He packed a couple of snacks, bandages, and his ID to check in and to enter the labs. He went to the clone pods and had them run to his workplace as he headed to the check-in building. He walked in and checked in and walked to the elevator in the center of the facility to go down to the 30th floor.
As the doors opened, he saw one of the lab biologists running down the hall as a small pack of creatures chased them. Vegis looked at this with annoyance in his eyes and anger in his heart. Vegis took a deep breath and used mana to enhance his shout, paralyzing both the pack and making the biologist pass out. Vegis then grabbed the net next to the elevator door and caught all of the creatures and walked down the hall and took a left until he passed 4 doors and took a right to a door that was opened. He tossed the creature back in and closed the door.
He walked back to the scientist who was chased and shot a small thing of water in their face to make them get up. “Tee, you should know by now that you shouldn’t be trying to pet the ratlings,” said Vegis as he pulled the biologist up from the floor. The scientist pouted and mumbled out, “But they’re so cute and fluffy. I must touch their skin,” to which Vegis whacked on them in their head and dragged them to one of the cells they had. Vegis pressed a green button next to the cell and it called in a small team of guards who dragged the biologist to the surface for a mental evaluation.
Vegis then walked to the janitorial closet that was at the far end of the floor and grabbed his supplies and let the clones into the floor. Vegis then walked all the way to the main room of the floor. The main room of every 10 floors contains a lounge area, snack bar, files, and is near the office of the floor manager. Floor managers were basically the head of each area and helped set up what tasks needed to be done each week.
Another thing they do is file reports about any incidents that happened and pick who gets to go into their area. Vegis walked past the door to the office and looked around to see if they were here. From the left, a door opened and the floor manager walked in. “Hi floor manager. Tee got a little messed up in the head so I had to send them to the surface.” The floor manager looked at Vegis with a dead tired stare and started to headbutt the wall whilst muttering, “Why don’t they take a break,” over and over until a sizable dent was made into the wall.

Vegis waited until they stopped and asked, “So what are the tasks for me this week?” and they brushed off the dust and chips stuck in their hair as they walked to the filing cabinet next to the desk and opened it. After they spend some time finding Vegis’s folder and pulling 5 sheets of paper.
This was handed to Vegis and he scanned over it. Each sheet had 20 major tasks that needed to be done by the end of his rotation. Most of it was fixing enrichment items that animals down here liked, pins that need deep cleaning, and which animals need to be sedated. Vegis walked out the office and headed to one of the bigger closets that was near the far end of the floor. Inside, there were the clones, a set of stairs coming up and down, and numerous broken toys of various sizes with the largest being easily over 4 meters in height.
The first thing Vegis did was command the clones to start cleaning the floor, with V1 sweeping, V3 picking up trash bags, and V2 staying behind to help Vegis in fixing the toys. The toys Vegis wanted to fix first were the smaller ones since the small animals became aggressive much faster than the larger beast they held. The trinkets that needed to be repaired for the smaller ones were several running wheels, a broken treat tray, and 1 water platform.
Vegis had V2 bend the bars of the wheels back into place and oil the bearings whilst Vegis grabbed the water platform and started to close the holes they made into it. After Vegis got done patching the holes, he took the treat tray and fixed the hinges of it and cleaned the bottom of it.
When Vegis got done with his things, he turned to see how V2 was doing and saw it was done too. He inspected it, fixed some small problem that V2 wasn’t commanded to fix, and turned to the medium size toys. There were many ropes, hoops, blocks, and many other things that needed to be fixed. The smaller creatures had less varieties due to a lower lifespan and thus a lower chance of a living mutant to be found. Medium creatures had the most variety in both species and shape so the toys they needed were a wide range of things.
Vegis inspected each of the damaged things and started to fix some of the portable play structures and had V2 fix the simple toys. An hour passed and Vegis finally fixed all the play structures and complex toys. By then, V1 and V3 returned from sweeping all the floors and picking all the trash bags. He had them help V2 fix all the simple toys which took 10 minutes. Vegis checked them and fixed any issues that were left behind. He then had the clones help him lift parts of the large toy and put them into their proper place.
It took another hour for Vegis to fix the toys for the large animals since it was heavily damaged from the weight of the creature stomping on it. After being done, he started to transport each of the toys to a corner and pressed a red button that signified that the items were fixed.
