Braxill skid to a stop in the open courtyard, red dust swirling around his feet.
Across from him stood a lone woman, tall, pale, silent.
Avastma.
Her eyes did not leave the massive dinosaur materializing beside him.
Red Rex towered like a volcano ready to erupt.
"Did you hurt my friends?" Braxill's voice was icy, too cold for a child his age.
Avastma didn't answer. She stared at the creature in disbelief.
"I'm talking to you Lady, I knwo you're strong I can sense your Abi!" Braxill snapped.
That broke her trance. She blinked hard, as if waking from a nightmare, then slowly turned, not toward him, but toward the distant smoke where Gradix had stayed behind tending the injured.
"Who are you?" she whispered.
"I'm Braxill," he said.
Her eyes widened.
Braxill... why couldn't I sense his Abi... yet hers overwhelms everything?
Braxill took a step forward, Red Rex rumbling beside him.
"I'm going to ask one more time. If you hurt Lanni or Gravixor, Red Rex is gonna make you his lunch."
Avastma instinctively stepped back, hands trembling.
Her voice softened.
"No. Braxill... I did not harm your friends."
Braxill froze. His anger cracked.
"You didn't?"
"No."
"Oh..." He rubbed the back of his head. "Nevermind. Sorry."
Red Rex faded into scattering sparks.
Braxill turned to run, but Avastma's voice snapped like a whip behind him.
"Where did you learn about that Dragon?"
He turned, confused. "You mean Dragon Red? Umm... it's kind of a long story."
"Please," she whispered. "Tell me."
"I really can't. I have to help the others."
"Was it from one of the Visionaries, Zillion, Burajiru or Shaprice or perhaps Junji?"
Braxill stopped dead.
Even the wind seemed to freeze.
"Zillion?" he whispered. "Wait... you know about Zillion?"
Avastma's eyes softened in a way he'd never seen.
"Ahhhh Yes I do."
Braxill lit up like a festival lantern.
"WOAH, he was like one of the greatest visionaries EVER! but I have never heard those other names?"
Braxill begged "Do you know them?"
A tiny blush crept up Avastma's cheek.
"Well... um...I wont say his name but one of them is my husband."
Braxill "You're married to a visionary."
Avastma "Well not exactly, technically I am, he just doesn't know it yet, I am his motivation."
Braxill "Did he actually say that?"
"No, not at all, but I will send him to the after life if he refuses to aknowledge me or pretends I am not his soul mate." She looked away quickly, flustered.
Braxill "Isn't that a bit much."
Avastma "It's a Scytherian thing, we can't help it; we're very possessive, but we do our best not to creep people out. I mean, it's not like I'm splitting myself up into different people to stalk him or anything."
"You can do that?" Braxill said with a wave of excitement.
Avastm "All scytherians can do that. Some of us are better at it than others, like turning into your lover's washcloth so you can go to the naughty places he won't let you go to because he doesn't understand that you're his soulmate. But of course, I'd never do such a thing; that isn't very lady-like at all."
Braxill stared at Avastma, confused. She tilted her head as if possessed. "Little cub, prepare yourself for when you're older, for the thickness of a Scytherian woman. Most men prefer sticks and 90% boobs, but that isn't human. Real women are flawed, with curves, flaps, folds, and a fat ass if they're blessed with one. What we are is the years of endless cupcakes, cookies, and indulging in the fountain of soda, creating curves and love handles that only the strongest of men can handle. Little boy, when you get older, you will know what it means to be loved by the skeleton of a lion ready to devour."
Braxill didn't understand her rant and he didn't care because all he thought about was Moco and his heart lit up "Wait, Scytherian, Moco's a scytherian, are you looking for her?"

Avastma "Um, I can't say, I'm currently in the middle of a top secret investigation, I'm undercover little cub...."
Braxill's eyes widened "Wooooah soo cool, you're basically a spy."
Avastma hesitated then her expresison hardened.
She continued "Listen to me, Braxill. I don't have much time, I wish I could talk with you more. Please know the world is cold, but you must hold on to your Joy. Zillion, Burajiru and Shaprice all struggled with Mental health issues... you must know its okay to talk to someone and tell them how you feel. Keep fighting. Be patient with her, five her words of affirmation. And always remember women love caring men not tyrants"
Braxill blinked. "Okay"
Avastma didn't explain. She simply pointed to the smoke-filled horizon.
"What you desire lies that way."
Braxill nodded and sprinted off.
Avastma turned and walked the opposite direction... toward Gradix.
GRADIX
Gradix dropped onto her knees beside a crowd of wounded Zoners. She and Willard had tended to nearly a hundred people, exhaustion pulling at her limbs.
"This is... so many," she breathed.
Zoners looked at her with a mixture of awe and confusion.
"Excuse me, ma'am," one said, "who are you?"
Gradix lifted her chin. "I'm with Joy. And my name is Gradix. And this ugly guy is Willard."
The Zoners blinked.
"Joy sent her..."
"Maybe we're saved..."
Another hissed, "Saved? Look how many died. Some god he is."
Another pointed. "She's a little girl."
Before Gradix could respond, a panicked Zoner sprinted around the corner.
"RUN! DELTAS!"
Gradix squealed and dove behind Willard.
Delta units marched into the courtyard, guns raised.
"Resistance is punishable by execution," the Delta Chief declared.
Willard stepped forward.
"No worries, madam. I shall handle this."
The Delta Chief cocked his head.
"You have a commanding presence. Are you some kind of hero?"
The massive metal figure loomed over them, eyes glowing faintly.
Willard "No, I am a Frog"
"I eat frogs for breakfast, hahaha" Chief Delta said flatly.
Willard blinked.
"...You what?"
"I eat frogs," the machine repeated. "Frequently, well not frequently because I actually don't know what a frog is but you get the point"
Willard squinted. "You're... a robot."
Chief Delta "Yes."
Willard "So you don't have a mouth."
Chief Delta "I have a mouth," the machine replied.
Willard "But you don't have a real mouth so eating makes no sense"
Chief Delta "the meaning of eating you is conceptual, just ask the readers."
Willard stared. "No, I wont ask them because that's not how eating works."
Chief Delta "I disagree."
Gradix pinched the bridge of her nose. "Please. For once. Just, don't engage."
Willard stepped forward anyway, pointing accusingly.
"You can't digest! You don't even have a stomach! Eating requires enzymes, not, not vibes!"
The machine paused.
"...I simulate digestion."
Willard "That's called pretending!"
Chief Delta "I am very good at pretending."
Gradix turned, already regretting every life choice that led her here.
"Willard, stop arguing with the murder robot about its bowel movements and destroy it already."
Willard looked back at her. "I was just saying—"
Gradix "NOW."
Willard sighed. "Fine. But for the record, this whole thing is biologically inaccurate."
The robot's eyes flared brighter. "I will now demonstrate conceptual digestion."
Willard nodded politely.
"OCEAN 7."
In a blur, Mach 40, his blade flashed.
The robots froze.
Then split clean down the middle.
All of them.
Gradix's mouth fell open.
"Froggy face... you're REALLY strong."
"Ever since Master Braxill faced off against Tabashi's brother the magician his Abi has sky rocketed" Willard admitted."
Gradix "Don't say that name around me."
Meanwhile...
Braxill stood atop broken stone, his eyes glowing green.
One of his eagles soared above, spotting the Elders miles ahead.
"They're south," it screeched.
Zoners began to gather around him, whispering.
"That's Braxill..."
"Is he here to save us?"
"Where is Joy?!"
"You said Joy would protect us!"
"They murdered our families! Our Knights!"
Braxill's heart clenched.
"I'm sorry," he said. "I don't know why Joy didn't come. But I DO know... he sent me here for a reason."
The crowd went quiet.
"My friends are fighting their way to the Royal District right now, to overthrow the King."
Gasps.
"I couldn't help them in that battle... because Joy told me to come HERE. That means there's something I'm supposed to do. So while Grax and the others fight the King"
His eyes blazed emerald.
"I'll protect THIS place."
The wind shifted.
"With my imagination... I can do ANYTHING."
He reached toward the heavens.
"JOY! GIVE ME POWER!"
And Joy answered.
Abi flooded his body, so much his nose began to bleed.
The ground trembled.
A shadow rose into the sky.
Something... colossal.
A kaiju-sized grizzly bear, taller than buildings, formed from emerald flames and roaring fury.
KAIJU GRAXIOR
The entire Zoner district froze in terror.
Avastma, miles away, felt cold shivers crawl up her spine.
Gradix and Willard turned toward the horizon in awe.
Every Delta unit stopped marching.
And miles ahead...
Sephiss and the Elders turned slowly... staring up at the impossible creature.
Fanok screamed first.
"What IS THAT?!"
Domain staggered. "In heaven's name"
Sephiss narrowed his eyes, calm but cold.
"I see..."
Braxill pointed.
"Grizzly... FIRE."
The colossal bear inhaled, and unleashed a BLINDING GREEN FIRE BLAST that tore through the skyline.
Everything within a block radius, Gone.
Silence.
The kaiju dissolved into fading sparks.
Braxill panted, blood dripping from his nose...
and smiled.
To be continued.
