B5 | Chapter 3

  Alexia

These wormholes continue on and on, over and over again for hours. With me entering another wormhole every single time I slay all the monsters in the previous wormhole. Meanwhile my level gradually rises with each one.

All the way until I finally make it out of the damned loop by exiting a wormhole in the main area of the dungeon.

Only to end up facing off against scorpions again.

It’s just that this time I can actually handle the scorpions. What with my level having risen quite a bit at this point.

So I switch from hunting sharks and octopuses to hunting scorpions again.

And I continue hunting them for hours upon hours. Until my level finally reaches level 2200. At which point I finally move off closer towards the large wormhole at the center of this ‘planet’.

Of course, I don’t go straight to the wormhole. Because that would be suicide.

I won’t be doing that until I’m at the max level of Tier 5.

It’s just stupid to do anything else.

Because I am absolutely certain that the boss of this dungeon is going to be at the max level itself. And considering what these other monsters are like at the center of the dungeon, I get the feeling the boss is probably going to be made of magic too.

Which means it will be able to hurt me with regular attacks.

And the first wormhole I enter on purpose to continue my hunt ends up sending me to some sort of incredibly bright place with what I sense to be monsters roaming around it. So the complete opposite of the octopuses’ abodes.

I can’t even open my eyes because it’s too bright.

Fortunately, just like with the octopuses, when I use anti-magic bullets, it scatters away the light too. Only to reveal the monsters in this place slowly getting closer to me.

Huh. Those things are kind of creepy.

The monsters in this particular… place… not really sure what else to call it. Anyway, the monsters in this particular place are all some sort of creature I actually don’t know the name of.

They’re those deep sea fish that have what looks kind of like a lantern dangling from their heads.

This book's true home is on another platform. Check it out there for the real experience.

Not really sure how else to describe them.

Well, regardless, the System seems to be calling them magic glow fish. So I’ll just call them that.

And with that thought, I go ahead and shoot them with anti-magic bullets as well. Targeting their lanterns first since they are hurting my eyes just to look at.

The monsters immediately begin screeching loudly the moment I shatter their lanterns, of course. Following which they charge at me blindly and without much speed.

So I teleport away and watch as several of them crash into each other. Almost like they’re blind or something without their lanterns.

What I wasn’t expecting though was for a massive explosion of light to shoot out from their collision. Then for said explosion to suddenly implode and turn into a small black hole that devours the magic glow fish.

Killing them all and giving them the credit for doing so before the black hole just collapses in on itself and vanishes without a trace.

I stare agape at the aftermath of the fish’s death.

Seriously? I don’t even get any EXP from that?

  Maybe I shouldn’t break their lanterns then…

I focus on the other magic glow fish before hitting other parts of their bodies with anti-magic bullets. Only for it to not do anything at all unless I hit their eyes or their lanterns.

So I teleport up to one of them and slash it with my polearm, cutting straight through the creature in the process.

And making this one implode as well as I hurriedly teleport away.

Fortunately for me though, I actually get EXP for it this time.

Okay then. Kill them quickly and teleport away before I end up being dragged into a black hole.

  Got it.

Without any hesitation, I begin moving around slaughtering the many magic glow fish in the little realm. Only occasionally shooting anti-magic bullets to clear the light. Since I notice at some point that the lanterns on their bodies are somehow restoring the bright light in the room just from getting near the holes in the light I made with my bullets before.

These things are annoying. And even putting that aside, they’re giving me a very bad feeling.

Not just these glow fish though, but everything here in these wormholes.

  Octopuses. Sharks. Magic glow fish.

  They’re all aquatic creatures.

  Which means…

I grit my teeth as the possibility rears its ugly head in my mind.

…there may be piranhas here too.

Damned System and its obsession with piranhas. I swear some day I will ask it about that.

But for now I just move on to the next wormhole. At which point I find myself in some place filled with fire that immediately starts to burn.

Shit, the hell’s with this place?!

I don’t hesitate and immediately begin to fire anti-magic bullets all around me. Clearing up the fire in the process.

Then I see the monsters responsible for the flames.

  A bunch of turtles.

Turtles with fire coating their shells and flames shooting out of their eyes, to be exact.

I continue clearing out the fire in the place, only for the turtles to suddenly begin breathing fire to replace it. Turning this into a little bit of a competition for who can claim the room first.

Until I get sick of it and teleport up to a turtle and cut off the damned thing’s head. Which surprisingly works.

  Huh.

The other turtles stop breathing fire at this before staring at me.

  I stare back.

Then the things all begin breathing fire at me instead. So I teleport up to one of them and swing my polearm down on its shell. Only for my polearm to bounce off.

  Ah. Got it.

The shells are made of magical material while their actual flesh is regular matter.

With that realization I begin shooting their shells full of holes while targeting their necks.

Then I finally move on to the next wormhole.

  So many aquatic creatures…
