  I end up asking Ethan quite a few questions over the course of a couple hours. All about his relationship with Astrid.

  How they first met, what he likes about her, how often they spend time together, when they first met, when he started liking her, and so on. One question after another.

  And it isn’t until I’m finally satisfied that I leave, heading towards the edge of the Dimensional Blocks. Or more specifically, towards Dimensional Block #1.

  Of course, when I arrive at Dimensional Block #1, I make sure to casually mention to Lucas when I meet with him that Astrid is dating someone. Then I mention who it is and that they’ve already slept together. Since they apparently have.

  And Lucas shows a rather amusing reaction to it all, as I was hoping for.

  His eyes narrow and he mutters, “Oh, really?”

  Then he goes on about how he was already planning to visit Astrid the next day. Which I quickly learn after that was a lie when I ask his assistant the next day.

  An assistant complaining about the sudden change in his schedule.

  I chuckle as I head out towards the border of the first Dimensional Block. Where the corrupted creatures are invading from.

  This is what they get for blindsiding me with their sudden advance in their relationship.

  Also for Astrid’s long lecture.

  I’m sure she’ll be very happy that I told Lucas for her.

  Still. All that aside, I do feel satisfied with her choice.

  So beyond this little prank, I hope they have a good life together.

  And if he hurts Astrid I’ll tear his legs off.

  Anyway, when I arrive at the border, I find tens of thousands of people already fighting the corrupted creatures. Holding them off at the border without actually making much progress beyond keeping them from moving further into the Block.

  I float high above them for a moment as I watch before letting out a sigh at the sight of the display below me.

  Then I activate my True Form, making a massive pillar of quantum energy explode all around me going from the sky straight down to crash into the ground. Following which I transform, growing my batlike-draconic wings and my horns as my scythe appears in my hand.

  All as a notification appears in my vision.

  It’s too bad I didn’t get any new powers or skills from reaching four-tenths complete in my True Form.

  And Zal doesn’t know anything about it either since the Quantum Reaper is the only Quantum Being in my hierarchy. Meaning the other Quantum Beings didn’t have to go through trials like this to get their True Forms.

  Which is unfair.

  Very unfair.

  Still. At the end of the day, it doesn’t really matter much.

  So after the pillar of quantum energy glitches out before vanishing, revealing me to all the corrupted creatures and people fighting them below, I swing my scythe. Calling down quantum lightning from the skies as glitchy clouds and glitchy purple lightning spreads across the horizon. Making that very lightning strike the corrupted creatures one after another.

  And in the process flooding my vision with System Messages about corrupted creatures.

  I apathetically watch as the corrupted creatures glitch out of existence one after another with glitchy smoke rising off of them. All while the people that were fighting them look on in shock.

  It’s nice to go all out against something that isn’t another Quantum Being for the first time in a while.

  Although these things are a little weak.

  They’re also not really giving me much of any EXP. Even with my natural boost in EXP from corrupted creatures.

  So after clearing out the corrupted creatures here, I go ahead and move along the border, just wiping out corrupted creatures as I go. Cleaning up the border while I’m here.

  Then I finally move forward, leaving the first Dimensional Block and heading out of the Dimensional Blocks entirely.

  Entering the corrupted universe beyond to begin my hunt.

  Let’s see how long it takes me to reach level 2500.
