The meeting was opened by Prime Minister Alhana Mereth, Head of the Executive, who called the roll:
Prime Minister Alhana Mereth (Head of the Executive):
“Ladies and gentlemen, ministers and generals, we are gathered here to resolve a rather delicate matter. I trust you’ve read my preliminary report. It would take too long to review all the prior events, and I assume you are already aware of what really happened near the Nazca Lines.
Let me be clear — the World Government has had to devote most of its energy to an unforeseen issue, one extremely difficult to manage. It is our highest priority that nothing and no one escapes our control. For this reason, the discovery of an unknown technology — held by entities about which we know absolutely nothing: their appearance, their origin, their current location, or even whether some of them are already among us — has become, for us, a matter of survival.”
She paused, letting the weight of her words settle.
“If the public were to learn what’s happening in the CHL North sector, we’d face riots, infiltration attempts into the restricted zone, and a crisis of global proportions. This must be handled in absolute secrecy. Nothing leaves this room or any of your departments.”

A ceremonial aide stepped forward and announced, almost theatrically:
“Minister for Private Health and the Care of Mental Insanity: Harold Morrow.”
A richly dressed man entered through the main door, his bright smile fixed in place, as if nothing in the room could possibly concern him.
Alhana Mereth offered no smile in return.
“Minister Morrow, you’re late.”
“Oh, I’m late, I know, I know,” Morrow replied at once, spreading his hands apologetically. “My apologies, Prime Minister… I was so absorbed — sales reports! The new Happion pill is selling like wildfire…”
“I’d say your personal revenues are doing just as well,” Mereth cut in. “Take your seat. We have other matters to discuss.”
Morrow complied without protest. He took the last empty chair, and the room fell quiet again.
“Good,” Mereth said after a brief pause. “The Minister of Information must use every tool available to ensure that all activity around the restricted area is covered by the most powerful disinformation campaign we can deploy.”
Cléa Dorn leaned forward slightly.
“I can assure you we’re more than capable, Prime Minister. We’ll put all our resources and creative power to work.”
Arkan S?lem followed without hesitation.
“Indeed. All our temples will back the official version. Energy and spirituality — politics and religion — have always gone hand in hand.”
A murmur of approval ran around the table, tempered by a few dissenting voices.
“Very well,” Mereth went on. “Now, the technical officer in charge of the mission — Eugene HSP328—”
“Prime Minister,” General Zhao cut in sharply, “we strongly object—”
“That will be discussed later,” Mereth replied at once. “Please, do not interrupt me.”
Her tone left no room for reply.
“It’s not only the presence of a biological entity in such a sensitive context that concerns me,” she continued. “What troubles me even more is the intruder who slipped past our surveillance. She appears to be the only one capable of communicating with the alien systems.”
A subdued stir passed through the chamber.
“Through this girl — a native — the alien base speaks to us,” Mereth added. “And it is asking for something. Something very, very dangerous for us.”
“And what exactly was discovered that’s so important we should hand over our energy?” Cléa Dorn asked. “They could use it against us.”
Lu Tzu did not bother to soften his voice.
“What are they asking for, damn it?”
Rafael Dervan exhaled sharply before speaking.
“Funds. Money. Where are we supposed to find all this money?”
“First and foremost, they want energy,” Mereth replied. “As for the money, Minister Dervan — you’ll find it. We’ll raise indirect taxes while pretending to cut the direct ones. In exchange, they’ll pay us in gold. As much as we want.”
“And why should we trust them?” Dervan asked, unmoved.
“We have reason to believe,” Mereth said calmly, “that inside the pyramid lies something beyond our understanding. Something that could become an immense source of power.”
Elyra Tamsyn tilted her head.
“And what exactly would that be?”
Mereth hesitated, then almost whispered,
“An egg.”
Hyra Wex let out a short, incredulous laugh.
“An egg?! Alien technology — and they want our energy? As if we had enough for ourselves. What is this, the aliens’ version of Columbus’s Egg?”
“We believe the interior of the pyramid contains a vast organic structure connected to inorganic mechanical systems — a bio-mechanical entity that could be defined as a bionic organism. The exterior appears to be merely a protective shell; our investigations suggest that inside lies an organism of extraordinary complexity, difficult to determine whether it is ‘alive’ or simply a composite of organic and inorganic structures. According to our analyses, the internal bionic organism is, for the time being, in a state of quiescence — dormant. It appears capable of reactivation through solar energy.”
Wex folded her arms.
“Mm-hmm… Perhaps the real question is: what if this ‘Columbus’s egg’ turns out to be a Trojan horse?”
The silence settled over the room.
