Chapter 19: Elements of Nature (III)
Trees were burned and turned into ashes. The white fire burned all the surroundings, the scenery was akin to hell. Instead of red flames, the color was substituted with the color of white, representing Jastine who has the white entitlement. At that time, the problem had been found. Jastine has the ability to control elements of nature, and his special authority is turning vague shadows of the elements into things he wants. Besides, he could create a natural disaster, not an ordinary one, that could out-weigh any tenacious natural disasters in the entire history of humans.
Whatever, the more seemingly powerful one will be classified as an authority, which is his transforming ability. The ability to control elements of nature is his magic.
Suddenly, I noticed why I was feeling a little bit empathetic to him, it was like we shared something in common. His abilities are somewhat similar to my atomic manipulation, and also, he had a sister as well. Was that a coincidence? Ah, what was I even emphasizing? Nevermind.
With a dagger, I was more mobile and flexible than ever. I didn’t know why I mostly used katana, it could be that I am more devoted to it, it came naturally. The initial weapon that came to my mind was always the katana, it looks cooler than other swords so…yeah. In this situation, the katana wasn't one of my options anymore, the reason was I needed to focus on speed, I believed I could out speed him. My strength was enough to pierce through his organs, he surely cannot block any physical damage without his elemental barriers.
Thus, speed is what I needed to confront him.
The hole Jastine created had been filling with flames, the mace was burning from the handle to the spiky ball. Jastine held that enormous thing in his left hand while approaching me once again, he was completely silent after three of his elements had been discovered. His face wasn’t intense, instead, he showed a face of enjoyment, making me inscrutable of his expression. Could it be that he was always like this? Fighting against powerful opponents brings joy to him probably.
“Don’t get me wrong, Kinter. You’re the first one to have me take out three elements. Every element I possessed had been maxed out, I was bestowed with the title of being the strongest elemental user. The reason you could withstand the whirlwind is because I haven’t pulled out nearly ten percent of it. I showed three elements just to let you know that the difference is clear.”
Ten percent of his wind element? With that such enormous wind was considered not nearly ten percent of the whole? Is he a monster? What about other elements?
“You thought you could frighten me? What I’ve encountered is just as common as yours, even if it looked impossible to deal with, there would always be a glinting chance, no matter what.”
“Haha, such a fool, your physical attributes aren’t close. I don’t see anything else except your ability to invent objects. If you have such a big mouth…then back it up with what you thought could beat me!”
Should I create natural disasters stronger than him? No, he has the right to control elements, if I create natural disasters, he wouldn’t get hurt and he could use it as a momentum to fuse with his elements, it will be the worst scenario to ever happen.
Or I could just use particles that are antithesis to test it out.
Particles flowed into my hands, I applied it to the ground. The ground pervaded magma all over the place. The magma was about to reach him, just as usual, he stood still.
“This magma…is different?”
Jastine felt perplexed by the magma running through his knees, the extreme cold probably had him asking.
If you spot this narrative on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
“Fascinating, but it’s not about different forms.”
He pulled out another element, it was water. It wasn’t anything visible from him but it was his manipulation over the characteristics of water.
He continued on marching through the liquid or…he was walking slowly. The extreme cold as well as its whole antithesis properties couldn’t do anything to Jastine. It was understandable, the characteristics didn’t matter to him. If he had the ability to manipulate elements, he would retain its characteristics and turn himself into it.
“Not wise enough, Kinter. You know too well that these things won’t work on me. Now, to repay your deception, I will fuse this thing of yours with…”
Jastine was about to finish his last sentence, but the magma suddenly grew sharp spikes.
“You are really a tactic fighter, are you?”
The spikes turned into liquid and drooled down. How did he make them like that? Was there an obedience from his abilities to him? It was like the elements automatically eliminated him from the slaughtering list.
Jastine raised his right arm, the vivid magma flowed into his right palm and turned into a magma ball.
“I can manipulate any element even if it’s in another form. As long as the characteristics are retained and considered one of the elements, I could manipulate them.”
“Are you sure? Genuinely, we’re very unlike each other.”
“What do you mean?”
The ball suddenly caused a large explosion. The ground cracked, and the mountains were washed away. The explosion emitted a foggy mist around the area. I've created myself a magical barrier, therefore, I received tiny damage like an ant bite from the radiation. Despite having regeneration, the radiation could infect me and cause me eternal pain.
I created myself a jet air and flew in the sky, the city afar wasn’t annihilated and seemingly not disturbed by the shock wave. The whole city was covered by a whole enlarged yellow barrier, and of course, it must be Jastine’s doing.
I did a surprising attack, I hope the chemical reaction, which is antimatter, could do its best to injure him. But, the hope wasn’t fulfilled. In the vague foggy mist, an applause was implied.
“Interesting. Fascinating. Magnificent. Wondrous! The first one ever made me stunned! You took away my hearing sense, one of the perceptions of a human! The radiation was a little problematic, but I’m alright. The heat of course had no effect on me.”
Jastine walked out of the foggy mist and appeared in front of me. The wind was blowing his yellowish hair tumultuously. His body was intact. The aura of white fire once again rescued him.
“You know what, Kinter. My magic abilities aren’t only transforming my elements into the objects I want. I also have one of the strongest and most durable defensive barriers among the royal guards.”
I knew Jastine wasn’t easy to commence with, he possessed extraordinary feats from my very own judgement. His physical attributes, his authority, his magical abilities and his way of doing things had given the omen of his implementations.
Whoosh
I appeared behind his back again, the dagger was going to stab his chest.
“You think with that dagger, you’re faster than me?”
He quickly tried to grasp my hand, which was holding the dagger. Instead of going all for it, I stopped my motion out of the blue and gave a horizontal kick to his head. Jastine immediately dodged the kick and kicked me in the abdomen, punched my face and held my neck tightly. He invented a fire katana and stabbed me in the head, my whole body was burning with white fire. The white flames scorched from top to bottom, and the whole thing melted down like the juice of chicken when grilling it.
“Now you won’t be able to regenerate anymore.”
With that being said, my body wasn’t actually healing anymore. The intestines, meat, heart, contaminating brain, bones and other organs fell down with the crimson blood being scorched by the white fire. The organs were red initially, then, it slowly transformed its color similar to the boiling meat, which was brownish.
What was left of me was nothing but a pile of meat. The softened meat and a mess of other tissues piled up together. Just like that, my existence has vanished into this world.
“Farewell.” Jastine showed his reverence.
But that was what would happen if I don’t have my reversing time.
Before getting stabbed by him, I’ve set the time to turn everything back. I hadn’t given up on leaving this world, I needed to know the reasons behind all this and I had to confer my sister to know everything. I also summoned the non-existent dragon and the first opponent I face whose power is praying to keep Jastine busy.
“Those are Kinter’s. He’s also a necromancer? How did his spirits continue when he died?”
“Gahh!” The non-existent dragon growled loudly and rushed to Jastine, its physical attributes could be on par with Jastine but it’s vulnerable to any powerful magical attacks. The guy whose power is praying, I called him doctor, will supply magical attacks, ameliorating the circumstance.
Right now, I need to take a rest for thirty seconds. However, my consciousness felt like it was like an hour. I think reality and the other world reconcile with each other, it could be thirty seconds in reality but an eternity in another world. At that time, the narcolepsy had gotten into the core, it was gradually making me want to actually stop existing, the urge was building up and up and…
Before I closed my eyes in my world. A criticism was said.
“How shameful, my friend.”
Then, I slumbered.
