Chapter 18: Elements of Nature(ll)

  “What’s this whirlwind? It surely cleared out other whirlwind natural disasters that had ever happened in the entire history!”

  In front of me, a gigantic whirlwind was washing everything on its way. Trees and rocks were flying along with the direction of the wind, which was continuing in a spiral motion. Jastine who caused this phenomenon was standing in the middle of the natural disaster, and of course, it basically had no effect on him due to him having the right to control the wind.

  Feeling the heaviness of the disaster, I had to stab my sword to the ground and use it as a thing to maintain my position. However, the wind became gradually stronger and heavier, my body was unable to turn against the force that kept pulling me toward itself. At the threshold, my feet started to slide with the ground, so hard that it created sparks of light due to frictioning.

  “This is what could determine the difference in strength between us. Fighting someone who isn’t your size is not fair for that person. As you get deeper and deeper into winning, the difficulty would level up simultaneously. This is basically what you’ll get after defeating someone who’s weaker than you.”

  He was blabbering about the solitude where the individual itself has to face after each win, metaphoring the circumstance that I was in. It’s really an ordinary conception in life, he was saying facts, no sooner had a person finished than the person had to face another stronger one, people would have their rivals as near as strong or on the same level. My mindset always grasps me into the verge of making decisions, was it analyzing or having no self-control? What would I do after fully analyzing an opponent? There are borders that cannot break through despite putting effort into them.

  “The Highness, who created this world, granted humans the ability to make history. However, he was wrong to bestow that ability to all humans because all humans started to drift their humanity to the other way, which is the way that’s very unpleasant and vicious. Still, the Highness kept his tongue shut and watched his creations become outta hand; we had watched all those conferences and came to the conclusion…it’s to rebel! And personally, I think it's good discretion.”

  While listening to his speeches, I also had to deal with the tumultuous whirlwind as it kept pulling me toward its territory. I remembered the lecture that atoms would constantly move, with factors such as reactants, it can move faster than normal because of heat and wind for example. Every living thing is made of atoms, therefore, my body is also made out of atoms. Then, I got an idea: Why didn’t I manipulate my body to stand still by using atomic manipulation? So, I started to activate what I thought that could be the answer.

  It worked, I could stand still in the middle of the whirlwind at that point. Looking at him, I was thinking of ways to approach him. I realized that I have had a fast regeneration since Julia’s battle. She cut my hand and decapitated my head, I aligned my body back due to regeneration that my atomic manipulation gave. The burning wound of course had been healed along with the dialogue earlier, the bandage was a waste as a matter of fact.

  Something was crawling out of my tearing pocket, it was giving dense and heavy feelings. I gazed at the thing, it was a golden book, the cover was seemingly made out of skin, and it was painted with a golden color. The book gave a sense that it has about four hundred pages, the cover was threaded from the top to the sides and bottom. The book has no title, it’s…a plain book.

  “What is this book?”

  I was about to throw it to the wind, but suddenly, the cover was glowing. It’s not time to think of anything like this so I drifted to a more important thing, which is facing Jastine.

  The book suddenly stopped glowing, was it depending on the intention, which is getting rid of it, that it started to glow to signal me not throwing it away? I asserted that this book must be crucial to me but I don’t how it’s contributing to me whatsoever.

  Anyways, I started to teleport to where he was standing.

  He was gazing at the dusty whirlwind that gave no visual within it, it could be the reason why he didn’t see me teleport. However, he immediately looked at me with sharp eagle eyes.

  “Good job, so this is how you handle it with your atomic manipulation.”

  He knew the name of my ability. Putting that aside, I gave a horizontal kick to his skull mid air. He blocked it with his arm while standing still without getting pushed back. Then, I quickly changed to a tornado kick in mid air, he blocked it. A spacious and open way appeared in the middle of his body all the way to his chin, all I needed was to give an upper kick to his chin, this was the hardest kick because it concentrated a handful of force to it, this time, it could push him back a little bit.

  Quickening, I landed my left kick to his chin. He flipped back from the strike. However,...

  “That was some nasty combo you got right there.”

  His face didn’t get hurt a bit, my strike didn’t even give a dirt on his chin. Did he…flip back to evade the upper kick? This could be it.

  “You gotta try harder, Kinter. I wondered how you could defeat my sister when this strength of yours isn’t that much.”

  He was ragebaiting me, I needed to clear the wrath building up inside me.

  Handful of atoms flowing into an invention, I created a clone holding a sniper aiming at his head.

  Boom!

  The clone shot a calibre bullet straight to Jastine’s head. However, he stood still, it was like everything was in slow motion so he thought he could evade that if he wanted.

  While the bullet was traveling at a bullet speed of a sniper category, I went along with the bullet, straight to Jastine, who was standing nonchalantly. He must dodge and I’ll take that time to execute him at an extraordinary speed.

  Dodge.

  He dodged with his head tilted to the side! That was a chance for me to bisect him in half, he must not have enough time to recover from it.

  “Naive.”

  The katana in his left hand leaked out some electrical sparks, signaling the dangerous strike about to land from him. He waved his katana horizontally, casting an electrical radiation toward me.

  The radiation nearly reached my existence, I suddenly disappeared.

  “Hmm.”

  I appeared behind him and maliciously thrust a powerful strike to his back.

  “!?”

  Suddenly, his body emitted an aura of white fire, stopping my sharp point of the sword reaching to his organs. A white fire barrier disconnected his body to claim damage, it also acted as a barrier like an iron armor stopping anything that wanted to touch him.

  The fire transversed to my blade, a spectrum of rainbow appeared on the sword due to extreme heat, it made me immediately throw it away. The sword melted horribly, it became a liquid state. Then he started to use his hand, casting multiple fire rounds toward me.

  I dodged one that was very near to me, I felt the heat that was extremely hot from it. I think it was over one thousand degrees celsius, however, the true number could have skyrocketed more than that. The tenacious heat burned a remnant from my shirt, the white fabric faded away and turned into ashes.

  “Another element?”

  Accounting for all three factors, all of them were elements of nature, and it made me contemplate his true authority. I wondered which is his authority, was transforming something into reality is his authority or magic? I watched many shows that magic would include elements of nature in it and act as a system and responsibility for the user’s magical use. However, some of the movies show the protagonists have only the element of nature as the authority, which is centering just around it.

  If he can manipulate three elements of nature, it gives a clue that he has the ability to manipulate elements of nature, which is indeed fire, earth, lighting, water and wind. He only pulled out three in his inventory, the only two left could be unleashed later depending on the circumstance.

  Jastine said nothing as I pointed out his fire ability. Instead, he rushed at me with incredible speed similar to the first encounter. Whilst flying, he transformed something in his hand with a fire base.

  Not standing still, I created myself another weapon, and this time, it wasn’t a katana, it was a dagger. Holding the dagger down, I immediately fused it with icy characteristics, the color of the dagger showed a beautiful image of light blue. Gazing at his invention, it was finalized, and the weapon he created that time was a mace.

  The huge mace dominated his size, it was so large that his body was like a minor to it. Swinging down that ominous weapon toward me with the chain arching back concentrating an enormous force. Not stopping there, the mace was enchanted with fire fiercely going along with the direction of the swing, creating a trail of fire.

  Boom!

  The great impact smashed the ground and caused a hole similar in size to the mace, besides, the mace created cracks to the ground, causing a temporary earthquake. The ground was shaking tremendously,

  The fire from the mace spread out the area, and created a wildfire. There weren’t many trees in this place but due to fire, every tree in sight was vulnerable to fire and completely turned into ashes.
