Chapter 12: Get Into Oblivion, the powerhouse of no logic

  Yusuke and Fevis have just finished the last lesson of the day. Those weeks have been so busy for them since the semester exam is going to take place very soon.

  Kinter has been missing for a month, he left no trace or any clues where to find him. Thinking about that, Yusuke can’t help but talk to Fevis, who is going home with him. They don’t know why they feel like something tragic is happening.

  Fevis and Yusuke skipped the feeling, they talked as usual on their way home about…Kinter, leaving the feeling of the apocalypse sensation behind.

  “How long is it that we haven’t seen Kinter?”

  “...”

  “You know Fevis, there’s something unusual going on, I can feel it.”

  “Kinter is missing while Zalek is gradually getting revealed about its origin. As it said that only those who are chosen would get picked as a descendant of the high rank species called Dreams.”

  “You mean Kinter got chosen and became one of them?”

  “Only those who have the blood or born from the ‘place’ will have the permission to become the descendant. Yup, Kinter may be born from that, it could explain the reason why he disappeared so long. Even if he got kidnapped…I don’t think that’s the reason though.”

  Fevis must have thought of something in his head, it was the vague memory of something he can’t analyze. He remembered the feeling of being there, the time when he and Kinter…were doing the project about human’s evolution. He remembered the feelings of being the target, the prey to get killed by a predator.

  He remembered that Kinter was the one transformed into something, and he…protected him, as he doesn’t know what it is so he connected the information to the relevant things that have been lingering lately, it was Zalek. The news said that the person would get an inner figure talking to them if they are cleansed, they would get the power to become one of them, which enables the ‘chosen’ to have high intuition for themselves and not get undervalued of the situations they must be in. Generally, the power they gain is the result of the clear image background, also, the ‘examination’ that takes place inside the individual to see if they deserve because it is to make sure that there’s no betrayal.

  Yusuke glanced at Fevis, he was suspicious of Fevis's utter speech, probably found out something was wrong between him and Kinter.

  “You good, Fevis? Is there something happening to Kinter that you know? I remembered you went to Kinter’s house to work on the project. Uhmm, if you know something then you can share with me and Pew, you know.”

  “The time I stayed at Kinter’s house was very unfathomable, there’s something wrong inside my head. It’s like a fog covering the truth to let me see the memories that’s right in front of me.”

  “Strange…so something must happen right?”

  “Could be but let me try to recall or do something to wipe away the secret.”

  “Since Zalek's appearance, I felt like we are living in a fantasy world, it’s basically the same as the worlds in anime. I don’t even know how but it looks like my culture is being pointed out, haha.”

  “Actually, why don’t we go to Kinter’s house?”

  “Oh! You think there are clues if we go to his house?”

  “My guts said that I should go to Kinter’s house, just for the purpose of what we are trying to find out.”

  “Whatever, I believe that your guts’ feelings are right. Let’s go to it right now.”

  “There we are.”

  “This is the first time I go to his house, why does it look so abnormal? The house is painted unusually. The hue of the house is magenta, why would anybody paint a house with magenta color?”

  “That’s what I thought when I came to his house for the first time, Yusuke.”

  “Also the house looks small, the house this small probably has two rooms at best. A bedroom and a dining room, indifferent from a dorm by the way.”

  “Right Yusuke, I also thought this house is enough for people who study far away from their house. Kinter doesn’t live with his parents, probably they went to a city to make more money.”

  “Could be that. Enough talking, should we go into his house?”

  “You’ll be surprised.”

  Opened the two-sided door, inside is a whole large area like it could be used to make a football stadium. Yusuke was shocked by the non logic in front of him. The outside’s look gives the sense of the house going to be small, it turns out that the house is enormous, making Yusuke linking back to the appearance of the phenomenon about Zalek. The visual of Zalek could explain this in terms of fantasy.

  “Has he always lived in the house like this?”

  Happening before Zalek’s announcement, Yusuke and Fevis wondered about Kinter’s origin because there must be something paranormal in his life.

  After a moment, Fevis fell down with a vomit, leaving a little bit on his lip.

  “Fevis? What’s happening to you?”

  “The memories…they’re flowing back, it makes my head hurt!”

  “Tch! Lay down, I’ll go find something to help.”

  Yusuke went straight to the kitchen. A room full of modern furniture, the refrigerator was left opened, the food was rotten inside with multiple traces of darkening substances.

  Besides, there are no traces of breaking in, there were no windows in Kinter’s house. The only way to get in was to go directly through the two-sided door. Yusuke thought of the case that Kinter got kidnapped because the door wasn’t safely locked. Still, Yusuke thought he had to investigate around for more information.

  Leaving behind the thoughts, Yusuke continued on searching for helpful things that could cure Fevis. However, after searching for a while, he found nothing usable to do so. In despair, he turned to go back to Pew but the way leading to Fevis had been replaced by a white circular portal.

  “Were all those phenomenon happening all of this time?”

  The existence of Zalek, the mention of things such as changing to the person’s appearance, could have been in real life due to illusions but the resources on there are similar to things like “mana” in manga and animation films. Or it could already be there but we haven’t found it or interfered. It's compatible. No doubt, Yusuke thought the world he’s living in is a magic-based (fantasy) world.

  “Come…in…”

  “!?”

  Yusuke heard the voice from the portal, inviting him.

  A normal human with such knowledge about these things like Yusuke doesn’t know what’s going on. His facial expression showed a casual attitude because he was too dumb to understand, plus, he’s a little scared of the thing happening in front of him.

  “What is this? This is getting too ridiculous.”

  “…”

  “Could this thing caught Kinter’s attention and he fell into it?”

  “…”

  Yusuke realized if he just stood still and do nothing, he wouldn’t be able to figure out.

  “I hope that I’ll find Kinter.”

  Following Fevis’s memories, Yusuke hoped that his discretion was right.

  “How about Fevis? I can’t go past this portal to help him.”

  “Just…come…in…your…friend……………meet…………..you…soon.”

  Too tired to think further, Yusuke went into the portal without hesitation, trusting Pew’s safety because of the voice from the portal.

  Traveling along in the dimension, Yusuke saw a lot of floating stuff, sometimes, he saw something that didn't look like anything in the real world. They look functional and compact or he thought he hadn't seen them yet.

  “A white portal? So I was right. Something like this happened to me and him on that day.”

  A white figure looking like a human came outside the portal. It doesn’t have a face and it doesn’t have hair. Completely white is just what its appearance presents, just like a mannequin.

  “You are one of them…right? The defiant of reality.”

  It said nothing then the figure started dragging Fevis to the portal.

  Fevis didn’t say anything, he trusted the figure because he felt that way. Another crucial thing is that he might find Kinter when he got to where the white figure leads to.

  Spawning in the middle of nowhere, Yusuke looked around for context.

  He found out that he was standing on sand but it’s not hot, it feels cold like ice.

  A voice popped up in Yusuke head, saying,

  “Welcome to oblivion, this is the world based on your current world, and…”

  “And what?”

  “The container of things that you human thought of non logically.”
