Itsuki POV:
The front lobby of this hotel was all luxurious with golden details. A big chandelier in the middle of the ceiling. Even the reception looked so flashy and expensive. Like it was gold plated. One can tell from a sight this place was built for those who can enjoy this kind of extravagance. To me this all was indifferent.
I felt hands grabbing the back of my coat.
It was the moment I stopped walking.
Em was hiding herself behind me. Her small fingers were grabbing me. Of course, she would recognise this face. The same person who made her the way she looks today.
I narrowed my stare. It was a quiet two full minutes. With each second the atmosphere in the room turned colder. One could feel the breeze coming through.
He stood there glancing our way. His white hair outgrown from last time. Now grown till his shoulders. His eyes and his skin are so pale porcelain, face muscles are unmoving. Almost like a walking ghost. No emotion could be read from him. It was like one was looking at a blank canvas. So unnatural, creepy and captivating. One needed resistance to look away. He was wearing a suit that was as white as his skin with silver details. Even his shoes were white. Truly making him look even more unnatural and odd.
“Welcome to Akasia Itsuki and Emily.” He spoke with his unnatural monotone tone. The welcome sounded cold and false.
“Karma Winters.” My eyes focused on his person. In a cold voice I responded.
“How’s the Intelligence holding on?” Like a robot talking. Karma Winters spoke in his unfamiliar manner.
“As if I care about that.” I said.
I did not care about anything that organization does.
Karma only watched me believing words to be true.
“I see. You are here for yourself.” Karma spoke as if he knew what reasons I had. That would be to finish the unfinished business from two years ago.
“If that’s the case then shouldn’t Emily be somewhere far away?” His eyes landed on Em for the first time in years.
Em’s grip on me strengthened as terror struck her eyes.
“I warned you!” I glanced her way. Seeing the panic in her eyes. The distress she was going through was clear as day. For the first time she was reliving the pain she went through by facing this man. Like a rabbit she froze in her place. Shallow breathing emerged as she looked like she might pass out at any second.

“Don’t you worry Emily. I have no interest in broken toys. Though, I do have something interesting to show you.” Karma spoke to her. Trying to reassure but the words left in his mouth only had the opposite effect.
“Watch it! I can easily destroy your precious work here.” I coldly cut him from speaking to her by stepping in front of her so he can’t see her.
“You are welcome to try.” Karma turned his gaze at me. Unfazed. Then he moved his hand to look at the silver clock under his sleeve.
“Shall we go?” Karma moved on from the exchange of words and started moving towards the elevator but then he stopped and turned and waved his hand for the people behind us. The two butlers that held the luggage started moving. The third butler turned towards us and handed us a card for the rooms. I looked up at him as he passed me the card. Facing him eye to eye.
“Looks like you know each other.” Karma spoke well knowing what was going on.
The puzzle pieces of that job came into place now. Karma Winters hired me to do it on purpose to infatuate me now. I took both of the cards as the butler moved away. My eyes landed on Karma.
“So you came up with a bullet-cutting laser. It’s only natural for the talent and resources you possess.” I did acknowledge that Karma Winter was an exceptional person. That was the truth.
“You thought it’s good. I am happy to hear that.” Karma said as he moved towards the elevator.
I didn’t respond to that but glanced down at Em instead.
“You can go to your room. I don’t need you following me here.” I said. That seemed to put her out of her trance as she looked at me shaking her head.
I moved to remove her hand from my coat.
“Go.” I said.
She still shook her head. Refusing to move.
“Remember what I told you before coming here?” I asked her as she slowly shook her head. Acknowledging my condition of her being here. I gave her both room cards and she took them. Then turned to follow the butlers on the opposite side of elevators.
Once she was gone I turned back towards Karma Winters who had entered the elevator and waited for me to join him. The ride was four floors up. We didn’t speak. There was no need to. Then we walked towards a conference room. A big table in the middle. Phones scattered towards each seat and screens on the walls. Two of the seats were already occupied waiting for our arrival. At the end of the table in the most important seat sat a young man with his neat blonde head. Hazel eyes. Round chin. Sharp expression. Wearing a very formal suit. On his left side sat another young man with deep black hair. Dark deep blue eyes. Face sharp. And also wearing a serious expression but I could sense disapproval in that face.
Karma Winters walked over to sit in the next seat by the blonde haired guy. Which was to his right hand side. The moment he sat down all looked up at me and now I understood what was going on here and why I had received this job from them.
“Itsuki! We welcome you to Akasia.” The one in the middle seat spoke up wearing a welcoming charismatic smile. His name is Nobu Ichigo. The only son of Ichigo's family.
The guy next to him with the black hair looked up at me but didn’t speak. That one I knew was Reigen Lawyet. He is the oldest son of the Lawyet family.
“Please! Sit down.” Karma Winter's unnatural voice spoke. When this guy spoke. His tone and face almost told the opposite. So monotone like he was made as a robot. No facial expression was on his face. As far as I was aware it’s a medical condition. Which can be fixed with medical help but I somehow sense that it was also the reason for him climbing where he was now. Right hand to the family of Ichigos and second in influence.
These three were the current rulers of this orthodox city Akasia. A place that only existed to those who knew of its existence. Is why visitors like me were rare occurrences. Even more rare was someone moving here like my target was. But it wasn’t a mistake. There is a connection between her and the man these three are chasing down. Hence the reason I was invited.

And kill any mortal foolish enough to reach for their throne.
