Today was the day; all wild souls must one day leave the nest, and today was his day.
?????♂????????????♂???, said the yak.
"Okay, normally I'm good at these, but what are you saying?" asked Noobkitty.
"I think our big good boy is going to make his home in the orchard he wished for," said ExpertBunny.
????????, GYOAT agreed
"See," said the bunny. "We'll miss you. Do you need anything? We can go with you, or give you blankets. I forget, do you have an inventory? Do you want one? I can give you an inventory."
????, he chuffed, he wouldn't need things in his magical fruit orchard.
"Okay, well if you're sure." She gave her oldest friend a hug. "I love you, GYOAT."
??????
Noobkitty hugged him too. "Be sure to come back for pies."
????????, it was hard he loved them both but a yaks got to be free.
She laughed and squeezed a little tighter with her hug before letting go of the fluffy beast.
He then left the stable he previously called home and ventured to the forest and his sacred orchard. It was a long and harrowing journey, fully minutes long, but he made it to the promised lands, where fruit, especially apples, grew in abundance. The trees were lush, the sky was blue, the grass soft, there were bushes of berries, wandering paths and the sun was warm. His new home.
He walked into his orchard but soon found... others. A raccoon eating a banana, a deer munching on berries, and rats. This would not do. This was his orchard of tranquility. He wished for it. He helped save the town, he was a member of sweet victory. These were interlopers! In his orchard!
The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
He walked up to a rat and chuffed.
The rat squeaked, then looked to GYOAT and smiled its ratty smile. It squeaked again and held its hands in little triangles near its ears.
GYOAT recognized what they were saying and chuffed in surprise.
The rat pantomimed: triangles ears, circle, bite, tummy rub.
GYOAT nodded. This was the rat Noobkitty had befriended. Well, that was okay, he was a friend of a friend; he could stay. But these others...
The rat squeaked and pantomimed being stabbed, then shot with arrows, then explosions, then touched the ground and put his hands at his head like a pillow.
GYOAT considered. It was true, it was dangerous outside his orchard. Players killed animals all the time. Fine, it was only fair; they could stay too. But no more, just the forest animals.
The rat squeaked with delight and called to the other animals, who bowed to the greatest yak in thanks. A small bunny child brought him a berry; she was so cute and reminded him of ExpertBunny, just shorter and on four legs, and not in a dress. He ate the berry as an offering, and the rest of the animals relaxed.
With that out of the way, GYOAT still had to find his bed. He explored for a good spot with soft grass and good shade. But when he found such a spot, it had something worse than forest animals, it had... players!
GYOAT chuffed and walked to a player who smiled. Her eyes sparkled as she recognized him.
"My gosh, you're GYOAT!" said the cow-elf player. "I saw the videos of you!"
He chuffed happily. His fame preceded him.
"And I love your orchard," said the player.
He chuffed grumpily.
"I hope you don't mind; it's a cozy spot full of friendly animals, and well, not every player wants to fight," she said.
He nodded. Noobkitty was like that, heck, he was like that. So it made sense. Still, this spot was too comfy to pass up, so he looked to the grass, then to the cow-elf woman.
"How about, if I make this spot super cozy for you, you let me and other players enjoy your garden too?"
He considered and then agreed.
So the woman fluffed the grass, made a nest of leaves, bent young trees to make an awning, and with a little effort made a cozy nap spot.
GYOAT walked into it, turned around, and felt like dozing.
"So I take it it gets your approval?" asked the woman.
GYOAT chuffed happily.
"Good, then you'll let players enjoy your orchard too?" she asked.
?????????????♀?, he answered.
"Yes, we will respect your orchard. Thank you," said the woman. As she walked away, he observed that the half-cow, half-elf was mildly interesting. While he thought this thought, the rat brought some cherries. GYOAT ate them happily, then had an idea.
????????????????
The rat squeaked for confirmation, and the yak nodded. It ran to town to see about employment with Noobkitty. The yak nodded and decided he had worked enough for the day. It was time for a nap and maybe an apple.
