Conquest 48 –Invasion of the Mivtic Kingdom (1)

  With the new dawn breaking in it was now time for my conquest of the Mivtic Kingdom. With my new features with [Game Screen] infiltrating the city will be much easier. I just need to send someone there and update me on their movements. It’s a good thing I had recently acquired a henchman who has knowledge of the layout of the city.

  After getting my bearings and making sure V was awake, I took the time to teach them about the new features. As I expected they were ecstatic over it and thought it was amazing, jumping for joy like the little kid they are over getting to communicate with me even when they can’t see me.

  They have been clinging to my side often. Their worry over me disappearing again must still weigh heavily on their mind. The communication features should be able to give them peace of mind. That’s the idea at least.

  “If you ever feel like chatting with me, you know what to do. I’ll make sure to answer your call as soon as I’m able to.” I reassured them, and they nodded back smiling.

  With that done I gathered everyone together, there was a look of conviction in their eyes. Even my more cowardly minions didn’t show any signs of fear. We were all ready to take care of the Mivtic Kingdom once and for all.

  I began to speak to them all, my voice loud and full of authority. “Alright everyone, since we’re all fully recovered. It’s time for my conquest on the Mivtic Kingdom!”

  They all cheered over my proclamation, my wolves howled in response and even the weaker minions were getting excited over it.

  “Yeah! Let’s make them pay for what they put our boss through!!” Mordred yelled, with the orcs in sync with him.

  I signaled with my claws to lower their voices as I continued. “First order of business, we’ll need someone to infiltrate the kingdom. For that I figure it would be best to send in someone who already has knowledge of the layout of the place.”

  On cue Zeph stepped up, talon holding on his hat while waving his other arm in a show of introduction. “Greetings everyone. Though we met before, let me introduce myself once again. My name is Zephyrus, but you can call me Zeph. I used to live in the kingdom our lovely bossman plans to conquer.”

  The vulture then moved his talon towards me, getting everyone’s attention to me as he continued. “Don’t worry, I plan to support Vladimir in his conquest to the best of my abilities as his henchman.”

  This response was enough to bring about a big cheer by all my minions who have been taking a liking to the vulture Beastman. It was then that I received a message from Zeph,

  {I’ll make sure to coordinate with the slum leader from the other day. We’ll communicate with this, that was what you were thinking right? ~}

  Once again, this Beastman just keeps reading my own mind. No matter, this works to my favor. I’ll just have to be glad that he’s on my side. I nodded to him as he backed down to let me continue my speech.

  “Next, after the incident from the other day I conclude that the enemy must have some way to locate us, similar to V’s [Map] or [Search]. So in order to counter this, I propose we split our groups into four. Each one being led by me or a henchman.”

  A goblin tried to raise his hand before one of the orcs tried to look down on him for interrupting. I motioned my claw at him to stop and urged the goblin to continue. “Uhm sir…. Wouldn’t it be dangerous to separate us like that? How would we be able to coordinate like that?”

  Well, it was an expected question. I’m sure some of them must still be worried of another surprise attack. Let alone possibly dwindling out offensive strength.

  I spoke up to them to make sure to reassure them. “Do not worry, I have already discussed that matter with my henchmen. We have established a way to communicate with one another over long distances. So you must pass any information you gather to whoever you are assigned with.”

  That seemed to relieve some of my goblin’s worry as well as others. Despite the fact I didn’t disclose the details of how I would be able to communicate with them, I can see in their expression that they trusted in my confidence.

  I quickly started to assemble the four groups as well as their positions. Zeph would be accompanied by the three stooges; I had noticed that each of them had learned to wield a dagger as well as a bow well so I thought it would be good experience for them to team up with the vulture who seems to specialize in maneuvering around discreetly. But of course, they wanted to voice their complaints.

  “Wait you want us to go within enemy territory!? Isn’t that dangerous?”

  “I mean… not like it’s the craziest thing he had us do….”

  “At least we won’t be at the heart of this bloodbath.”

  The three discussed amongst themselves, though they did do as they were told and followed behind Zeph who was leading the way as he casually waved back without looking back. I couldn’t help but notice that I was putting more trust on my newest henchman a little too quickly but decided it’s fine. My [Game Screen] listed him as a henchman and from what I gathered it doesn’t lie about their intent.

  As for the rest of the groups. I had Mordred, Damian, and me assigned with one orc, two to three wolves, as well as a mix of kobolds and goblins. There were slightly more goblins than kobolds. I found out from their training, while my goblins have found a specific weapon they comfortably specialized in, my kobolds instead found more flexibility with various weapons.

  Since their brush with a real fight, they seemed a bit less cowardly compared to how I first met them. I couldn’t help but smile over my fellow weak monsters.

  With everyone assembled I then assigned everyone their positions. For Mordred, as he is the most aggressive of my henchmen, he’s assigned with attacking from the front gates with the intent of attracting most of the forces. I’ve seen him fight more than anyone so I know that he could handle the extra attackers.

  Meanwhile Damian and I would be attacking from two equally distanced locations around the capital. Damian specifically around the location where me and Zeph had escaped from. With his skills he would weaken their defensive walls utilizing the cracks they failed to notice. I imagine they would be sent in a panic.

  As for me, I would have us scale through the walls. With my [Material Forge] it’s a simple matter of creating a stairwell up the stone walls or even just a simple platform to hold us as I make it move us up.

  Once everyone understood their roles, they all began preparations, including me. But as I started on checking my tools and inventory V started to walk up to me, gently tugging at my garments to get my attention.

  “Mr. Vlad? Are you going to be ok out there?” They innocently asked, worry still in their eyes.

  I couldn’t help myself but gently pat them on the shoulder reassuring them. “Don’t worry, unlike before we’re ready for them.”

  I then pointed my claw finger towards my head as I sent a message to V. {And if you get worried you can always use this to check if I’m ok. You can even use call to, just make sure not to do it too often alright? I do need to focus on the conquest after all.}

  V nodded vigorously, their usual smile returning as they excitedly messaged me back. {Ok, got it Mr. Vlad!!}

  They seemed to be enjoying using the new feature as I noticed Mordred and the others reacting while they were preparing. Most likely V was messaging them for fun, though none of them seemed to mind the mild distraction. Which was indicated when I got several messages from all three of them.

  {HAHAHA V is such a riot! Always getting me pumped up!!}

  {V is such an adorable bundle of joy!! But they still don’t compare to you Vladdy!! ~}

  {Still curious why you have such a young monster as a henchman, but they are sure full of energy. The little goblin sure makes this endeavor all the more interesting Vlad.}

  Heh, I’m glad they all enjoyed having V around. I was about to go continue to finish my preparations before I was sent another message.

  {Mr. Vlad, what do you want me to do?!} I turned to look at V who was looking at me with such a brimming look of excitement in their eyes.

  This wasn’t good. I was planning to keep them safe from this fight, but the look they were giving me was hard to resist. I relented, after all their abilities would prove useful if done right.

  “Do you remember those plants that I used to help everyone feel better? I’m running low and we could use it for the upcoming fight. I need you gather them up for me.”

  They jumped for joy upon hearing the request. “Oh Oh, I know how to make them into powder Mr. Vlad! Mr. Damian showed me!”

  “That’s good, then you can help distribute them among those who would need it. But I need you to make sure NOT to get into the middle of the fights. I’ll have the others message you when they need it and I’ll make sure to provide you with an orc and wolf to help protect you alright?” I stated to them, hopefully they won’t need to do any protection but it’s better to be safe.

  “Got it!” They happily responded.

  I called over their escort and informed them what they need to do as well as making sure they understand they follow their instructions but to prioritize their safety overall. They all seemed happy to assist them. “You got boss, we’ll keep the little guy safe!”

  My wolf howled in agreement as all three of them set off to the woods. Good that should keep them out of most of the danger for now.

  With that settled we all got to position; I had all my henchmen on call as they waited for my signal.

  “We’re all in position boss! Ready at your command!”

  “All of us are ready here Vladdy~”

  “I’m inside bossman, informed the leader here of our plan of attack. Just waiting for you. ~”

  I was ready as well; me and my group of minions were bunched up together as I had my hand ready to activate my skill. “Hold on tight everyone! ~”

  My minions all braced themselves, the smaller ones clinging tightly to my orc. I began to activate [Material Forge] all the while holding back my laughter.

  “Alright it’s time to start my invasion! Veehahahahaha!!”
