Chapter 53
The Sebrus and the Samantha were on their way to Hebridan.
"I hope Hebridan is nice,"said Sha're.
"People from Stargate Command say it's like Earth," added Amos.
"I hope they have restaurants, music, dancing and all the creature comforts one has in an advanced and thriving civilization," said Egeria as she spun around dancing at the bridge.
Amos leaned back in his Captain's chair with one leg over its arms and the other one dangling from his seat. "I'm sure Hebridan has all of these things, Egeria."
Egeria stopped dancing. "Oh, Ampu, I wasn't talking about Hebridan, I was talking about Earth."
Reva and Sha're couldn't help but laugh at Egeria's remarks about Amos's primitive homeworld.
"We are coming out of hyperspace now," said Michael ready at the con.
Amos straightened his gold Star Fleet uniform, sat up straight in his chair and prepared to welcome yet another world into his Commonwealth.
"Reva, when we come out of hyperspace I want you to –
…Oh my God!"
When the Samantha came out of hyperspace they saw dozens of Hebridean ships engaging in a battle with a Ha'Tak vessel.
"Reva, raise Shields!" ordered Amos.
Reva quickly raised her shields as the violent clash ensued.

"What the hell are the Goa'uld doing in Hebridan?" cursed Amos. "And how the hell do they still have shields?
Dozens of Hebridean vessels –some big, some small – were pounding on the Ha'Tak vessel with everything that they had.
"Keep firing!" yelled a captain of one of the Hebridean warships.
Suddenly a large vessel with two massive sections, both duck shaped in design covered in antennae and sensors appearing as wings on each side, appeared on the battlefield with bigger canons than the other Hebridean warships.
"All dreadnaughts, this is General Monstrose. Load all batteries.
Now fire plasma torpedoes!"
Large round balls of death could be seen hurling out at the Goa'uld ship.
Boom. Boom. Boom Boom.
"Direct hit!"said one of the weapon's officers on board the General's vessels. "They're ship is finally taking damage."
The General moved closer to the ship's tactical screens on the bridge and said, "Thank the ancestors, that's what they get for messing with hebridean dreadnaughts. Now prepare another salvo of plasma torpedoes, we have to take that thing out."
"Yes, General,"said the brave ensign.
Suddenly, a brilliant beam of emerald light pierced through the bottom of the Goa'uld vessel all the way to the top, effectively cutting the vessel in half.
"I can't believe it," said the tactical officer. "The Goa'uld warship has been destroyed."
Explosions lit up the Hebridean skies as the Ha'Tak vessel rained debris down on the planet below.
Out of those explosions appeared the Samantha Carter, glorious; Its shields and weapons primed and ready.
"General!"said a young navigation officer. "I'm picking up two more ships that just came out of hyperspace. One is the prison transport ship Sebrus and the other is of a design not affiliated with the Hebridean Federation."
"Open a channel,"ordered the aged General. "Hello, my name is General Monstrose of the Hebridan and Serrakin Federation. You arrived at the knick of time. Care to explain what you're doing on this world? You're not affiliated with the Genites are you, this wouldn't be the first time those terrorists used an alien ship.
Suddenly, a ghostly image appeared in front of the General.
"Greetings. My name is Amos Fyree, Captain of the Samantha Carter and leader of the Lantean Commonwealth,"said the hologram. "No, we are not affiliated with the Genites, or any Hebridean faction for that matter. We saw that you were under Goa'uld assault and intervened as soon as we could. We have been traveling to Hebridan for over a week in order to establish diplomatic relations between our two nations."
As soon as he had finished speaking another transmission came through, this time from the Sebrus. "Hello, my name is Warrick, captain of the Sebrus. These people mean us no harm. My prison ship had crash landed and they rescued us on an uninhabited world. We have reason to believe that the Genites were responsible for our crash and were trying to free our prisoners to join their dastardly campaign. Per protocol 6 of the Hebridean and Serrakin Constitution, an attack on any Hebridean vessel grants us an audience with the Federation government. We wish to speak with my federation representative immediately!
The General turned to his first officer and said, "The Sebrus has been missing for a little over a year now. It's surprising that they are still alive."
The half Serrakin first officer, ready and alert, turned to the embattled General and said, "Yes, General the Sebrus has been missing for a long time. However, Captain Warrick is right. Protocol 6 is clear, he is entitled to a formal inquiry by a Federation official.
The General chuckled, "After all that's transpired here today, he'll have a meeting with the President."
