Mission 809
For this mission, we had to chase after a rich man who escaped because the company found out that he had been taking money secretly from the company, causing the company to fall into debt that would’ve never happened if this man had worked honestly.
We were tasked to kill him so the company could take away all of his possessions using legal measures. The company is located in Singapore. He himself has gone abroad to Belgium and has lived there ever since, in its capital city, Brussels. He wore a fake beard and moustache to camouflage his identity. Stupid, I know, but it works for him.
We have arrived at the top of a water tower located about 500m away from a grocery store that he visited daily. Even though it’s far, we still have visuals of the grocery store. We were given this information in detail by our broker. We keep our chopper floating stably near the water tower. Diva is already in position with her sniper rifle ready atop the water tower, and she aims downwards towards the guy.
Inside the grocery store, there are a lot of other people shopping at this particular hour. Usually, we would like to stay hidden and not attract any attention, especially from outside the Underworld, but the company has requested us to kill him in public places, and they’ll take care of the rest.
We’re all already accustomed to hiding ourselves from the public eye, so we have no worries.
*BANG*
Diva shoots her sniper rifle once and fires her energy bullet to not leave any evidence behind. The energy bullet hits the man in his head from the side, and he dies immediately.
*THUD*
His body falls lifelessly to the store’s floor, and a small puddle of blood quickly forms, spilling from his head.
“KYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!”
“WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!!!”
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
“SOMEONE’S BEEN SHOOOOOTTTTT!!!!”
“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”
“A DEAD BODY!! HEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPP!!!!”
Chaos quickly emerged, and everyone inside the store was panicking. Meanwhile, all of us immediately cleaned up everything and are prepared to leave in our private chopper.
“Alright, let’s bounce!”
“Quickly, before someone looks our way!”
Everyone had seated inside the chopper, but before Diva closed the door, as she was the one sitting near it, she realized something.
“Wait, where’s Eissen-sama?”
“Eh?”
“Huh?”
“What?”
Everyone was surprised by Diva’s question. They did not expect me to be absent at all. All of them look to their right, left, front, and back. And yet they did not find me anywhere they looked inside the chopper.
“Wasn’t he just with us?” asked Robert.
“Wait! I don’t think he left his seat at all!” said Raiya.
“Correct! I was the only one stepping outside after all!” said Diva.
“This has been happening quite often recently. . .” said Raven.
“Yeah! What is going on with him? I’m worried!” said Martina.
“EISSEN-SAMA!! EISSEN-SAMA!!” said Diva into her comms.
But there was no response.
.
.
.
I had warped away from my seat at the same time Diva shot her sniper rifle to camouflage my gunshot noise. I left without telling anyone anything firsthand. I warp myself atop a random building, far away from the grocery store and the water tower. I was just sitting on the edge, looking down towards the city below.
We killed yet another human being who has their own entire life behind them. Even though this time, I wasn’t even the one who pulled the trigger, I still feel guilty somehow.
There’s something not right with me. I used to care less about anyone’s lives other than us six. Ever since that guy with the rock Faith power and that girl with body heating Faith power’s death, something in me felt different. It’s like something has flipped a switch in me. Seeing someone lose their life feels disturbing to me nowadays.
Those feelings and the small nudges in my heart kept getting stronger every day. It makes me feel like what I am doing right now is not what I should be doing. Even though I was already fully accustomed to this lifestyle in the Underworld, somehow, I feel like I don’t belong here.
I don’t know what is going on here. When this feeling gets stronger and consumes me, I just disappear from the group to doze off and daydream silently as I keep staring at either the sky or whatever scenery is in front of me, based on our locations. I show up later, making up excuses to the group and pretending that nothing significant is happening.

This has been going on a lot lately, and this is like the 30th something already.
*WRRRRRRRRRRRRR*
*!*
All of a sudden, I heard a loud noise of a chopper nearby.
“THERE HE IS!!”
Diva opens the chopper’s door and greets me.
“EISSEN-SAMA!! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?” says Diva with a worrying tone.
“EISSEN-SAMA!! WHY ARE YOU HERE?” says Raiya with the same worrying tone.
“Something on your mind, Leader?” asks Raven.
“This mission went smoothly, so is there something personal going on behind the scenes, Eissen-sama?” asks Robert with concern.
“Please don’t do this anymore, Eissen-sama!” says Martina with a pair of eyes ready to shed a tear.
“Ah! Diva-chan! Everyone! I apologize for this! It’s nothing, really! I just kinda like being alone sometimes! Though I don’t mean it as if I don’t like all of your presence! You get what I mean, right?”
. . . .
Everyone doesn’t respond. They all saw the clear expression on my face. My face looks tired and exhausted, but not the kind of tiredness you get from physical strain, but a mental one.
Diva reaches out her hand to me with a smile.
“Eissen-kun! Let’s go!”
Hearing Diva calling me Eissen-kun felt so nostalgic somehow. I look at Diva with her sincere eyes, and it makes me smile. I took her hands and hopped onto the choppers, and we finally left the scene.
Mission accomplished!
Mission 992
For this mission, we had to infiltrate a large city that had been closed off by the rest of the country. This is a corrupt country in the North where its citizens have banded together to rebel against their corrupt government. All citizens have come to the largest city in the country, and closed off the walls completely to prevent outside intervention.
We have been hired by the corrupt government to assassinate their leaders or completely destroy whatever system they currently have inside this closed-off city. They also told us that we are allowed to kill any civilians, but be mindful of how many we kill, as the government still needs its people to operate properly afterward. As usual, we don’t really care who hired us or for what reason they did so. Just consider the job done if we’re hired.
We all dive into the city from our choppers with parachutes that I prepared for them. These parachutes are my Faith power, so there’s no possibility of malfunctioning. We all discard the choppers back into the capsule and fall toward the city at the same time. I also distributed the parachute in the air. We all did this very calmly, as we are used to this type of activity.
We all landed separately to find the leader quickly, as the government that hired us doesn’t exactly have any info regarding this closed-off city. This country is so poor that they don’t have access to satellite imagery. They don’t even have any aircraft or whatnot to be sent for scouting. Well, we don’t mind those details. As soon as we landed, we discarded our parachutes and immediately ran across the city to gauge everything inside.
The state of the city itself is pretty normal, other than the fact that there are so many posters with the word Revolution written in big font sizes everywhere in the city. In buildings’ walls, on cars, in lamp posts, windows of every building, on the road and street below, everywhere one would think to stick a poster, there would be at least one poster.
I quickly headed towards a certain building, north of the city, that looked slightly different than the rest as it had a giant banner with the same word, Revolution. It is a square-shaped seven-story building, full of windows. This building used to be a normal office building until this whole rebellion started. I quickly jumped up high towards a window on the third floor.
*PRANG*
I broke through the windows and arrived inside. This room used to be a boss’s room, from how it looks, and there was no one inside. I close my eyes to heighten my hearing.
. . . . .
I hear very quiet noises coming from below, but slightly louder noises from above. I decided to make my way quickly towards the upper floor.
I reached the fifth floor of the building, but it seems like the voice came from the floor above. I wanted to quickly make my way to the next floor, but I saw someone to the far left in my peripheral vision. I turn my head towards the person, and there is a very old lady, possibly in her 80s, just sitting all alone on a lone chair, against the wall.
. . . . .
I have no idea why, but that old lady intrigues me even though I had a mission to accomplish. Without realizing it, I walk away from the staircase towards the next floor. I entered and walked through the entire fifth floor towards the old lady.
*step step step*
I finally reach and stop in front of the old lady. After thinking about it further, what on earth am I doing here? What am I going to do to the old lady? What do I wanna say to the old lady? This is very confusing to me, yet there’s this strong push in my heart to approach this old lady.
I open my mouth to greet the old lady, but before any words came out of my mouth, she was the one who greeted me first.
“Ohohohoho! What’s a youngster doing here? Are you also part of the rebellion group? I’ve never seen you around here, young man! Are you a new recruit?” asks the old lady.
“I-I-I apologize! I was just playing around in this part of the city! I entered this building because I saw my friend enter and never came out, so I went inside to find her!”
I lied to her and made up a backstory so quickly and easily.
“Ohohoho, is that so?”
“W-Well then, please excuse me! I’m gonna continue my search for my friend!!”
I turned around from her, but before I started walking away, she said something that froze me in place.
“Young boy! You’ve been feeling empty and aimless recently, haven’t you??”
. . . . . .
What?
I froze for like a solid five seconds. I turn around slowly towards her, showing a great display of disbelief on my face.
“H-How do you know?”
“Oh, it’s nothing! Just a thought that suddenly pops up inside my head! Hohohoho! Must be the Holy Spirit that lives within me.” said the old lady with a smile.
“Holy. . . Spirit?”
“Do you feel unsatisfied with your life? Do you feel like whatever you’re doing in your life isn’t meant for you? Do you feel like there’s more to life than the life you currently know about?”
I was completely bamboozled. Everything she just said was right on the dot. But how on earth did this random old lady know everything about what I had in mind? I never met her, and she certainly never met me. I do not understand this one bit.
“M-Madam! Excuse me! But are you a Believer whose Faith power to read someone’s mind?”
“Hohohoho! I am just a worn-out 80-year-old lady! I am a mere Non-Believer, young boy.”
“Then how on earth did you know everything that has been going on in my mind?”
“As I said, the Holy Spirit living within me is telling me all this! The Holy Spirit also told me about your arrival today!”
“Huh? What is this Holy Spirit? I’ve never heard about it!”
“Oh, you don’t know? It is the third Person in the Godhead Trinity! The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit!”
“Godhead? Trinity?”
“Oh my, you don’t know anything, don’t you?”
I nod my head to her.
“It seems like God is drawing you towards Him! Wanna come to Him?”
*!!!*
“I’m sure He will guide and give you directions!” said the old lady with a sincere smile.
*sobs sobs*
I have no idea why, but I shed tears.
*thud*
I fell to my knees and started crying.
“Madam! *sobs sobs* Please tell me what I should do!”
I plead to the old lady and ask for her guidance. She told me to put my hands together and close my eyes. I did as she instructed, but I couldn’t stop the tears from welling up in my eyes. Those feelings of aimlessness, directionlessness, and doubts that have been inside my heart felt like they all poured out at this moment, and I kept crying harder and harder in front of an old lady whom I only met for the first time today.
