237. Scorpio (8)

Eissen walks back to the living room ahead of everyone.

  “Eissen-kun?” asks Diva.

Everyone else follows him to the living room.

  *!!*

  *BANG*

They all saw that Eissen quickly summoned his pistol, shot and killed Kuzart, who was still tied to the sofa, on the head.

“Everyone! Let’s just finish this for tonight! We’ll think of what we should do next in the morning.”

  “R-Roger!” responds everyone.

And so, everyone leaves the house, and they continue killing everyone inside the capital city, destroying every building or facility, burning them to the ground.

There were about 125,982 people inside the capital city, and just six teenagers killed all of them within hours. Their bodies are covered by blood, here and there. Not a single soul was let alive nor escaped.

About three in the morning, the six of them are gathered on top of the 50m brick wall, north of the city. They all lit up a small bonfire and sat down in a circle, surrounding it.

“So this is it, huh?” says Raiya.

“Yeah! We finally did it!” says Robert.

“But this is merely just the capital city, though! There’s still the rest of the country.” reminds Diva.

“But with the capital city completely destroyed, the rest of the country will try to replace it with a completely brand new system, completely free from the shackles of the current government. That would mean that this is going to be a different country from now on, so in a sense, we did destroy this country just now.” says Eissen.

  “Good point, actually!” says Martina.

“So, what are you all going to do from now on?” asks Raven.

That simple question makes them all freeze. Destroying this country has always been their lifetime goal this whole time. Now that they’re here, what should they do from now on with their lives? These thoughts kept swirling inside their heads for a few minutes, and there was nothing but silence between all of them.

As they all keep losing themselves to their thoughts, one by one, they all fall to their back, looking at the beautiful night sky with so many stars above. Without saying any words to one another, they all smile to themselves when they realize how beautiful the night sky is that night. Eventually, they all closed their eyes and fell asleep.

  Six in the morning

Eissen opens his eyes, and he gets up and sits. The small bonfire has gone and completely burned the small amounts of wood and tree branches, leaving a small, black, burnt mark on the wall below. He stands up and walks towards the edge of the wall.

  “Beautiful. . .”

He saw the morning sunrise on the horizon and was in awe of the sheer beauty of this world.

“That’s right! There are still those people. . .”

  “Urgh. . .”

One by one, the five of them wake up and get up. Eissen turns around to them.

“Guys! I have an idea! But before that, there’s still something else we have to do!”

  *?*

“Today, we are going to hunt down and kill every single civilian in this country who was a part of the illegal military that was causing this civil war to begin with!”

  “Oh, right!” says Raven.

“Somehow I completely forgot about them!” says Robert.

“This country isn’t gonna get better when people who wish for war still exist!” says Martina.

“Then let’s stick together for one more job!” says Raiya.

“With this, we’ll finally put an end to this wretched country!” says Diva.

“Alright, guys! Get ready and set out immediately!”

“Where are we going exactly?” asks Robert.

“I was in one of the military offices before I got to that giant mansion that was swallowed by that giant pillar of pink light, and I saw that they have intel on where the main bases of the illegal military are located! Follow me!” says Eissen with a confident tone.

The five of them smile and respond.

  “ROGER!!”

Six of them have arrived in the very west of the country, on an open, empty field that spans for a hundred kilometers in every direction. There is no human settlement or civilization at all in this part of the country, as there are close to zero resources here. But recently, a giant military base was built here. The military base is about 15x13 kilometers in size. The entire military base is surrounded by an iron barbed fence, and there are four different gates through which people come in and out.

Inside, there are hundreds of green tents and posts, 12 giant signal towers, three different aircraft landing areas, about a hundred tanks parked in a specific area, three hundred armored cars, 60 military choppers, a giant warehouse that stores all of their firearms inside, with 1000x850 square kilometers in size, and there are about three hundred thousand people listed as soldiers inside.

With all of this equipment and capable personnel, they are basically ready to wage war against any nation, no matter if they would win or lose.

  “W-What?”

  “What happened here??”

  “. . .”

  “Who could’ve done this?”

“Every single one of them died??”

  “. . .”

All six of them could not believe by the sight they saw. They were all expecting the military base to be busy and lively. They were in the middle of a civil war after all, their bases should’ve been pretty rowdy at this time of the day.

Yet when they arrived there, the sight they saw was completely outside of the realm of possibilities. While all of the equipment, buildings, towers, tents, vehicles, and most of the firearms were left untouched, every single soldier was killed, and their corpses rotted on the ground everywhere.

The six of them walk through the open field full of corpses silently. They all saw so many of the corpses died with their limbs or body parts cut off from their bodies. It seems something sharp is what kills them all. They also see that next to almost every single corpse here, a rifle was lying nearby. But when they start thinking about it, how would someone or a group of people kill this many people with a sharp object, while all of the people they or someone else killed are holding firearms? This makes no sense to all of them.

After an hour of aimlessly walking through a field of corpses and blood, the six of them have gathered inside one of the tents and sit on a small table with six chairs surrounding it.

“I feel so empty and aimless. . .” says Diva.

“Yeah! I get you!” says Raiya.

“So, what are we gonna do from now on?” asks Robert.

“Are we all gonna split apart and do our own thing?” asks Raven.

“I kinda like what we have going on right now if I’m being honest.” says Martina.

“I have a proposal.” says Eissen.

  “What is it?” asks Diva.

“Wanna form a group right now so we can stick together from now on?”

  *!!!*

All of them smiled at the idea that Eissen presented.

“I don’t mind actually!” says Robert.

“Is there a name for the group?” asks Raiya.

“Yeah! From now on, we are Scorpio!”

  *!*

Diva was the only one surprised, as that was the name that she came up with in the first place. She smiles to herself behind everyone’s back.

“Alright, then, wohooooooo!! What are we gonna do from now on as Scorpio?” asks Raven.

“Here’s the deal!! We are going to announce it to the Underworld that we, Scorpio, are the ones who destroyed this country!” said Eissen.

“Ohh! That made us gain some fame to quickly rise in the Underworld!” said Raiya.

“Next, we are sure to get a broker that can link us up with missions and whatnot! To me, I realized I enjoy using my Faith powers and moving my body however I want! I feel like doing these missions, I feel more alive! How about you guys?” said Eissen.

“I kinda understand that! I really like it when I cut off someone with my axes.” says Raven.

“And I love it when I punch someone’s head, and it explodes!” says Raiya.

“And I love headshotting people with my unmissable bullets!” says Diva with a smile.

“Then we all agree with him, huh?” says Robert.

  “WE ARE!” says Martina.

“That’s great! So now, at least, we have something to look forward to in our lives! Next, listen carefully.”

Everyone listens to Eissen carefully as per his request.

First, he came up with something called a creed. It is a set of rules or regulations to operate properly as a group to avoid any unnecessary conflicts between members.

“The First rule is to NEVER betray each other. No matter what happens, put each other first before yourselves; that way, there can be no thought of betrayal or self-imposed priority that could doom us all during missions!”

“Second, if any of us were to quit for whatever reason, we must kill that person to avoid them leaking any information regarding us to avoid unnecessary future conflicts and problems that may arise in the future.”

“Thirdly, we must share all rewards of the mission equally without giving anyone special favor to be fair. Unless, of course, there are restrictions about the missions and not all of us can go at the same time, then the rewards belong to the people who did the mission.”

“Lastly, if something goes wrong during the mission, and there ever comes a time when we have to choose between each other or the mission, we must always choose each other first! It’s easier to choose the mission, leaving anyone behind, but by doing the hard things, I feel like we can become stronger in this world. This is proven by my Faith power, as I did not have the same capabilities I have now compared to when I first awakened this power! I believe this would be beneficial to all of us in the long run!”

  “That is all!”

Everyone nods and agrees. Not a single objection to anything Eissen said. Eissen stands up and puts his hand on the table.

“From today onwards, the Scorpio is born!!”

Everyone else also stands up and puts their hands on the table, stacking on top of his.

  “ROGER!!”

  A week later. . .

  *RATATATATATATATA*

  “AAAAARRGGHHH!!!”

  “UUUAARRGGHH!!”

  “NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!”

  *THUD THUD*

Robert has just killed two adults, male and female, holding a pistol towards him inside a luxurious mansion somewhere in the east.

  “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! PAPAAAAAAAAAAAA!!! MAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!”

  “Fuuhhh! Done!”

Robert blows the tip of his UZIs to get rid of the smoke after firing.

“Do I leave the brat alive or just kill them, Eissen-sama?”

“Hmm, this family has a lot of connections even towards the Underworld. Just kill him! We don’t want any loose ends!”

  “Roger!”

  *RATATTATATATAA*

  “AAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKHHHH!!!”

Robert aims one of his UZIs and puts a lot of bullets towards the kid's body, killing him instantly in cold blood without hesitation.

  “Alright! I’m heading back, Eissen-sama!”

  “Understood! Retrace your steps carefully!”

Robert leaves the mansion and regroups with everyone just outside the mansion, on a small hill south of it.

  “Good job, Robert-kun!!” says Raven.

“It was easy! Killing two egotistical rich couples doesn’t really give me that much excitement, though. Well, at least, the reward is quite handsome!”

“Couldn’t you just take something from that mansion and sell it later to a broker somewhere?” asks Raiya.

“Eh? I don’t wanna be just a regular burglar! This is a matter of pride!”

“Eh? You’re the one who brought up handsome rewards first!”

“Yeah, but that’s not what I meant!”

“Alright, alright! No more arguing!” says Eissen.

“Yes, Eissen-sama!” answered the two of them.

“So, Eissen-sama, let us proceed to our next mission right away!” says Diva.

“Right! Everyone, prepare yourselves! We’re heading out right now!”

  “ROGER!!”

All six of them have started to move together in the Underworld as Scorpio, and they quickly make a name for themselves by taking down an entire country with their small number of people. People in the Underworld have started to become conscious of their names. They have gotten a lot of missions thanks to that achievement.

But there is one feeling that still sticks inside Eissen’s heart, which is the feeling of aimlessness that has never gone away ever since he was old enough to understand words, even before he was put into the orphanage.

What is his purpose? What was he born for? What is the point of his existence?

All of these questions have been eating him from the inside, but he always tries to push them away to gain a moment of peace in his mind. Yet deep down, he knows that he has to face this feeling someday, somehow. But for now, he resorts to these missions and killings to keep his attention away from these thoughts to the point that taking someone’s life doesn’t even budge him anymore.
