After the call they decided to stop the training for the day to check the contracts, well Amelia was not going to check them, but it was not easy to train the whole day for her and she needed some rest. They took a much needed shower for which they were thankful for the two bathrooms in the house, or one of them would have needed to wait.

  Even when they could shower simultaneously, Amelia took half the time just because of how hard it was for Emilio to clean himself after his extreme training.

  When he came out of the shower he found her playing video games. Emilio smiled as he realized how nice it was to see a normal scene in his house once again. It might have been only two days since he came out of the Monolith, but his life had been nothing but normal ever since.

  He left the girl playing and went to check both contracts. He was not the only one who was going to read through them, but he also forwarded them to his sister. It was better to double check that there were no legal loopholes.

  Luckily they didn’t find any. But Emilio did detect that Milagros did a few modifications in his favor. Not that anyone would care as most of the contract was what everybody expected.

  He did have to provide all of the information he could share, taking into account the System restrictions. He could also mark any piece of information as something to be shared freely to the whole planet. That was at his discretion and KimTec would help him find the best strategy to share the intel. If he was not satisfied with the method KimTec decided, Emilio could share the information in any way he wanted.

  When Emilio read just how biased the contract was in favour of himself, he couldn’t help but to smile. At the same time, there were some restrictions in the contract. He couldn’t share any information privately. He could either share it publicly or to KimTec.

  Then he had his other responsibilities, he had to do whatever he could to expand his abilities, develop himself and find out what was going to happen. Of course, he had to report everything he could find. He was basically a guinea pig for System stuff, but it was exactly what he wanted. After all, he was going to experiment by himself either way. If it was like that, why not get resources from one of the richest companies in the world?

  Which resources? Whatever he needed as long as KimTec could get it. He just had to ask for what he needed and it would be provided. As long as he showed results, he could get whatever he wanted.

  The last part of the contract was about his pay. After all, it was still considered a working relationship. His annual salary was 400.000 USD net, a whole lot more than what he expected.

  From what he had talked with Marcos, he expected the amount to be gross. That part of the contract should be the part Milagros mentioned when she said she took some liberties. It was still the amount discussed, she just changed gross to net, making a big difference on the amount it was. Emilio was sure that was her way of thanking him for the promotion she got, even if half of the things that gave her the new job had nothing to do with him.

  There was something else about the salary. KimTec was going to make an advance payment for the whole year as soon as he signed the contract. At the same moment, they were going to transfer some money for immediate expenses to be spent at his discretion. What he didn’t expect was that the money for ‘minor expenses’ was fifty thousand dollars.

  Just how much do they expect to spend on me? I have to make sure I give enough back. Luckily, I do have important information to sell them.

  Emilio spent a few minutes scanning his contract back and forth, without finding any possible loophole and passed to the next one, the one where they hired KimTec to train Amelia that was much shorter.

  It detailed that they would hire KimTec to train and support Amelia in whatever way they could. Emilio, as a KimTec employee was going to be in charge of supporting her and either Emilio or Nicole had veto rights over any decision on her training.

  The cost was going to be one cent per year, as long as Emilio worked on KimTec in his new role.

  It was basically a placeholder contract because she was a minor, but it worked to create a relationship between the girl and KimTec for them to be able to help her without any legal repercussions.

  There was absolutely nothing to discuss on the contracts and after checking them a few times and making sure that Nicole also checked them. The contracts were signed and sent back to KimTec.

  After signing, he notified Milagros in writing that they were signed and a little detail that he hadn’t mentioned before: He had already talked in private with someone about the information he had, and that someone was trying to convince her company to act on it. That someone was his sister.

  It was not a breach of the contract, because it was before he signed it, but it was better to let them know from the very beginning to not have any problem. He also talked to his sister to know exactly what she had shared, and it was only things he was going to make public which meant it was not that big of an issue.

  By the time he finished all of the administrative work and everything was ready, he still had over two hours until Milagros came. He decided to wait for her doing something normal: he went to play with his niece. It might be the end of the world soon, but he had to have some normal joy.

  After a few hours of normal life, Emilio felt much better. Apparently, it was a good idea to have some rest between training sessions. Even if his Vitality kept his body in a good state, his mind was exhausted.

  He reminded himself to add resting periods to his training, even though he was not so sure of what his training schedule was going to be in the long term. For the moment, he wanted to learn how to use the daggers and perfect his Skills.
