Emilio closed his work computer for the last time and wondered what to do with the item. Given that he was still in the same company, he might not even be asked to take it back. Well, maybe he would use it for a meeting or something that has to do with the System, but no more software engineering in that computer, or any computer, for him. At least for the time being.
He left his office room and found his niece waiting for him.
“Uncle, didn’t you want to focus on your masoch.. hrm training?” She asked with an innocent look on her face, meaning she was not innocent at all.
“I will ignore that comment. You know it is for my Skills, really useful Skills. Do you want to try to heal some wounds like the ones I had to see how you deal with them?”
“Ok, ok. I get it, but you have to understand how scary it is to watch you cut yourself several times in a row.”
“And the one talking is the girl that keeps shooting me until she is too tired to stand. You are the scary one here. I dare you to try to shoot someone else and see if they don’t die from a heart attack!”
“Anyway, what took you so long? It's almost 11!” Amelia skillfully changed the subject.
“Quite a few things,” Emilio said as he thought about all of what happened in the morning. “Long story short: I got a promotion and my new job is to train my new Skills. I also have to report back any new information I have. It also took some time to say my goodbyes to my team.”
“Well that’s as good as it gets,” Amelia concluded, “I hope you like your new boss then.”
“I don’t think I will have any issue with her,” Emilio hinted.
“Do you know her?”
“I’ve worked with her before.”
“That’s as good as it gets, right?”
“Exactely,” Emilio nodded, “I was able to negotiate for Mili to be my boss. I also added another condition you will like. As long as you and Nic agree, you will also receive all of the resources you need to train.”
“What? How did it get to that?”
“Apparently, I did really well in the Trial and you are not bad either. That meant I could add you to the deal. They can’t hire you, but we will be hiring a training package that entails the same training they provide for me, or something like that.”
Amelia's face was shining with happiness knowing that she would be able to develop her skills for real. At that moment, she realized that uncle was going to live by his word about starting to take some risks for the new System.

This was a new side of him she didn’t know. He was usually the stable guy talking about being stable. Sometimes Amelia even though he was kind of boring and that is why she loved to take him out to do things. She was now realizing that there was another side of his uncle, and maybe this was the way you actually get to the point of being able to be stable.
She really liked the change and realized she really wouldn’t have to pull another thing like sneaking to the Monolith. Maybe this System was a really good thing. After all, what could really go wrong if they were talents to be hoarded by big companies?
“I love it, thank you uncle!” Amelia hugged her uncle, “We should call mom to tell her the news!”
Nicole was as surprised as her daughter about this new development. Her company was looking for new talents too, but they didn’t decide what to do next yet. Also, they didn’t find someone like Emilio threatening to leave unless he could train his skills that pushed them into making a decision.
After some convincing, she agreed to sign whatever she needed for Amelia's training. It was harsh to admit that, for the moment, the girl had better prospects than most people and had to develop her talents, even if she was a teenager.
By the end of the call, they had everything decided and Nicole went to a meeting to try to convince Polifood, the company she was working for, to start prioritizing the development of skills related to the System.
After making sure everything was in order, the Castro family decided to go back into training for a little while before having lunch.
For the meal, they decided to go out to eat again, but not to a buffet. With his new salary he didn't need to bankrupt a poor restaurant, he might as well make the day of a place that charged by the plate. At the same time, Emilio wasn't going to cook enough food for ten just so they could eat, so they decided to just keep eating out. It might be expensive, but it was no longer a problem for him.
Emilio was expecting to receive the call from the executives before he finished lunch, it had already been a while and Marcos seemed to receive the urgency of the information he had, but apparently there were other matters to take care of and he was left waiting.
He decided he would keep training in the afternoon while he waited for the call, in this manner he ruined another good set of clothes. The good news was that while they were training, his order to restock arrived.
There were several big boxes of simple clothes that he needed to train, or better said to destroy when he misused his daggers. Amelia was the one to receive the order after she joked about the poor delivery man calling the police after seeing him. Something that Emilio admitted was a real possibility when he saw his destroyed and tainted clothes.
At the same time, despite Amelia’s age and size, she had no problem in carrying any amount of weight. With her Body at 9 he suspected she could lift a car if she wanted.
All of that meant that the delivery man found himself giving several boxes of men's clothes to a 13 year old girl in a residential neighborhood, in a place that was obviously a residential house. When he wondered if he should help the girl who had to carry the merchandise inside her house, she picked one big box in one hand as if it was made of feathers and carried them like nothing. She even tipped him handsomely even when she was the one to carry the boxes. It was definitely one of the weirdest deliveries he did, but not as weird as everything else happening in the world. The man just accepted the tip and went back to his truck, cursing the Monoliths again. He had to dodge one every few blocks and it delayed all of his deliveries quite a lot.
