Chapter 63 : A Letter

"R-rid Archie, I want to ask for your help," the girl said.

"Ask for my help? That's fine, I can help you if that's something I can do. So what should I do?," I said.

  "Hmmm that..," Lillian said.

"What's wrong, just tell me? Are you still panicking because I found out earlier?," I asked.

  "Yeah a little," Lillian said.

"Relax, it's normal for you to follow someone when you need something from that person and approach them when the moment is right. I also sometimes like to follow someone when I need something and approach them when they're alone," I said.

"But I didn't approach you and ended up being caught by you. It seemed like I was caught as a stalker," Lillian said.

  "I told you, I don't mind it," I said.

  "Okay then," Lillian said.

"So what should I do to help you?," I asked.

"Ah that... wait a minute," said Lillian while taking something from the bag she was carrying.

  "Please accept this," said Lillian.

I also took the item that Lillian gave me.

  "A letter?," I thought.

"Is this for me?," I asked.

"No, it's not. I mean please accept this to be delivered to the person I want to give the letter to," said Lillian.

"I see, then who is the person you want to give this letter to?," I asked.

  "......Noa Sigisbert," said Lillian.

"For Noa,huh. But why don't you give this letter yourself?," I asked.

"Honestly I want to give this letter myself but I don't dare to give this letter when he is with his friends but I never saw a moment when he was alone and I'm not in the same class as him either," said Lillian.

"That's right, I've never seen you in class A. So you're in a different class from us, what class are you in?," I asked.

"I'm in class B," Lillian said.

  "Oh class B," I said.

"That's why I intended to entrust it to someone close to Noa. And I happened to see you were alone so I followed you," Lillian said.

  "I see," I said.

"So that's the reason she followed me, because I'm close to Noa and I was alone so she followed me and intended to entrust this letter to be handed over to Noa. If the one who was alone was Charles or Chloe, she would probably follow one of them," I thought.

"Okay, then I'll hand this letter to Noa later," I said.

  "Thank you," Lillian said.

"Is there anything else I can help you with?" I asked.

"No, there's nothing else. Then, if you'll excuse me," Lillian said.

  "Okay," I said.

Lillian hurried off towards the stairs and seemed to intend to leave this library.

"When she said she wanted to ask for my help, I thought it was something difficult to do, but it turned out to be just delivering this letter. But the letter for Noa, I don't know what this letter contains but that girl named Lillian doesn't seem to have any hidden evil intentions, so it seems like it will be fine. But Lillian Aurora Nielba, I feel like I've heard this name mentioned before but forgot where," I thought.

Now it's time to catch my other stalker, because this time I already know who is stalking me, I don't need to surprise her anymore.

"You can come out now, Leandra. I know you're hiding there," I said.

After I said that, Leandra came out who had been hiding behind the bookshelf.

"I've been caught, huh," Leandra said

"What are you doing hiding like that?," I asked.

"I was just curious about what you two were talking about. It's not like I followed you from the start, I was already in the library and happened to see you two chatting so I decided to hide and peek at you. But I couldn't hear clearly what you were talking about," said Leandra.

  "Is that so," I said.

"So what were you talking about with the daughter of the Marquess of Bibury?," asked Leandra.

"The daughter of the Marquess?," I asked again.

"Yes, Lillian Aurora Nielba, the daughter of Adelmo Nielba who is the Marquess of Bibury. Don't you know who she is?," asked Leandra.

"I just remembered that Uncle Isaac once told me about the sons and daughters of the nobles who will be students at the academy this year, and one of them is Lillian Aurora Nielba. How could I forget, even though Uncle Isaac had told me about her who would be entering the academy and Bibury is an area that I passed through when heading to San Estella from Aston village," I thought.

"I just met her for the first time so isn't it normal that I don't know?," I said to Leandra.

"Well that's normal, I was told by the miss about who she is. If I wasn't told maybe I wouldn't know who she is either," Leandra said.

  "Is that so," I said.

"So what did you talk about with her earlier?," Leandra asked.

  "Nothing," I said.

"Hmm then what is that letter you are holding, could it be a love letter? You are naughty too, Rid, even though you are officially miss Irene's partner but you are with another woman until you get another love letter. Well even though your relationship is just pretend," Leandra said.

"This letter? Lillian asked me to give this letter to Noa. Besides I already know that I am in a relationship with Irene, even if I get a love letter from another woman I won't necessarily accept it. However, why are you talking about it here? What if someone hears about it?," I said.

"That's right, sorry. So the letter was for Noa Sigisbert and you were told to hand it over? Was it a love letter?," Leandra asked.

"I don't know, I didn't ask Lillian further. Ah, I just called Lillian by her name, should I use the prefix 'princess'?," I asked.

"I think it's okay if you just call her by her name, besides, she doesn't seem like someone who would mind being called that," Leandra said.

"Yes, when talking to her I know that she's not someone who brags about her title. But if Noa finds out she got a letter from a high-ranking noble's daughter, I don't know what her reaction would be," I said.

"Is he someone who gets nervous when dealing with nobles?," Leandra asked.

"Well, he said that if the noble who wants to have a relationship with him is a good noble, he will feel nervous. But if the noble who wants to have a relationship with him is an arrogant noble, he doesn't feel nervous and instead acts angry. Before he became close with Charles, Chloe and Enzo now, he was nervous when talking to them," I said.

"I see, well most commoners are like that when dealing with nobles. But you don't look like that, Rid. When talking to the lady, you look normal and not nervous," Leandra said.

"Well, I don't really care about the status of the person I'm talking to, if the one who wants to talk to me is a good person, of course I also have to speak nicely to that person," I said.

"Hmm, is that so. By the way, if Noa gets a letter from a woman, it's definitely a love letter. I didn't expect him to be quite popular to even get a love letter from a Marquess' daughter," Leandra said.

"Well, maybe it's like you said that this is a love letter, but I didn't really think about what this letter actually is, I was just told to deliver it," I said.

"But you're also very popular, aren't you, Rid? Because you ranked first in the academy entrance exam, aren't there any other female students who gave you love letters or expressed their feelings to you?," Leandra asked.

  "So far, none," I said.

"Hmm is that so," Leandra said while thinking about something.

"By the way, Leandra-," I said.

"Just call me Lea," said Leandra who suddenly cut me off.

"Okay then, by the way, Lea, earlier you said before you peeked at me and Lillian, you were in this library. Are you just taking a walk? Or is there a book you're looking for?," I asked.

"Ah about that, I'm looking for a good magic book to study. As you know, we Elves are very interested in magic," said Leandra.

"Well that's true, besides you use a magic wand when you fight, right? And the Elves have a mana capacity that is normally greater than the mana capacity of humans," I said.

"Right, you know a lot, huh, Rid," said Leandra.

"Well I only know the basic knowledge," I said.

While we were chatting, suddenly a voice was heard asking for help that seemed soft.

"Please, don't do that..." said the voice that seemed soft and slow.

"Did you hear it, Lea? It was like someone was asking for help," I said.

"Yes I heard it even though the voice was very soft. Where did the voice come from?" said Leandra.
