  ) are legendary Taoist figures, emerging by the Song/Ming dynasties, who represent diverse sectors of society (old/young, rich/poor, male/female) and symbolize happiness, health, and, in some cases, the "Eight Drunken Immortals" in martial arts.

  The Eight Immortals are:

  He Xiangu (何仙姑): Often depicted with a lotus flower, she is the only woman, symbolizing purity and mental/physical health. She is the mind of createress as Maha Ugra Tara or Ekajati or Mahogra Tara or Bon Goddess or High priestess as combined mind of universal soul or Creation or Sati that reminds as in Hinduism.

  These immortals are believed to live on five islands in the Bohai Sea and represent the concept that anyone can achieve immortality through self-cultivation.
