chapter 3

"Fwuaah... finally!" Gale gasped as he y sprawled out on the floor. On the tree a distance from him, was a dark burn mark. "That was the hardest thing I've done in my life."

He sat up and looked to the rge farm-house that faced the clearing. It belonged to Uncle Han, and it was his home. Uncle Han was like a father to him, but he had never met his real father. From what Uncle Han had told him, he had been found in a boat by the river behind the farm.

"It would be nice to meet my parents..." Gale muttered. Although he appreciated Uncle Han for raising him and treating as his own son, it would be nice to know his parents...

Halfway through his thoughts, a rge explosion distracted him.

  BOOM!

Gale's eyes widened in shock. As he turned to face the building, another explosion followed. This time a massive soundwave came with it pushing Gale back. With a grunt he was sent tumbling to the ground. He simply y in the dirt after that, unmoving, with his eyes closed, until he heard a voice.

"Hey, Gale! You're alright?" He opened his eyes to see Uncle Han's worried face before him.

"Ah... Uncle Han? What's going on?" Gale sat up with difficulty.

"These bastards are after me..." Uncle Han said, a grim look on his face. "Even I don't make it, I want you to go to Cyrus. There is an academy there, for inheritors your age. If you join that academy, it would help you."

  Gale frowned.

"What are you talking about, Uncle Han? Has old age gotten to your head? You're not going to die! Together, we can... "

"You're not fighting." Uncle Han said, cutting Gale off.

Gale tried to protest, but Uncle Han held up a hand to stop him.

"You can't even utilize a single bloodline technique. These guy's are trained assassins who can use numerous lethal techniques. You wouldn't equate a wasp in the face of their power. You're useless im this fight, so just stay back an focus on surviving, alright?"

Gale grit his teeth, and clenched his fists, so hard they dug into his flesh. Despite his reluctance and disapprove, he nodded.

  Uncle Han smiled.

"Don't worry, I won't go down easy..." As he completed the sentence, he suddenly spun around. He held out his hands, and an energy dome formed around the two.

  CRASH!

An attack crashed onto wall of the dome, making a ripple on the surface.

"You need to go now, Gale!" Uncle Han said, holding up the defensive dome. One more thing. Your parent's, I think they were from a vilge north from here! It's called Sanaa!" Another attack hit the dome.

"Now, go!" Uncle Han shouted. The dome released, and three spheres of lightening, formed around the old man. With a fsh they flew forward.

  Boom! Boom! Boom!

In the distance explosions formed, throwing up smoke and dust.

Gale sprinted away, before hiding behind a tree in the distance and observing.

About 10 figures surrounded Uncle Han now, all of them dressed dressed in pin bck. They sent different types of attacks, which gained on him like some sort of wild-storm. He was like a tornado as he spun around, defending against and throwing attacks in all directions. A figure ran at the old man, two shadowy wolves behind the assassin. The assassin swung his hand forward, a dagger in his hand. Uncle Han leaned to the side, avoiding the attack. Then, tendrils of electricity ran down his arms, and soon a gauntlet of pure lightening sat on them. Uncle Han swung forward, and his attacker was sent flying back, the two shadow wolves disappearing as he did so. The figure disappeared into the woods, breaking trees as he did. His accomplices joined the attack.

The first to reach uncle Han was a figure wielding two hooked chains, the attacker spun the chains, before he whipped at the old man with them. Uncle Han leaned forward, and as he did, he disappeared, appearing a few steps forward, right in front of the attacker. He kicked forward, pushing the assassin down, leaving him open. Without wasting the ability, Uncle Han's hand stretched out, send a mass of electricity directly onto the assaint.

He looked up, to meet 7 other attackers before him.

"10 towers!" He shouted, and as he did, 10 towers of lightening formed around him, each crackling with a force that sent fear into the watchers.

  CRACKLE! KRRK!

4 of the attackers were hit, and sent flying back.

The remaining 3 attackers stopped in their tracks, hesitant.

"Afraid?" Uncle Han mocked, a smirk on his face.

  Gale could not understand.

He could not understand why that man even considered the possibility of death. It could not be possible. It could not be probable. How could it be?

  He was death.

So far, his life had not been in danger. Not even once. Instead, a wave of his hand brought havoc and destruction. Like the conductor of an orchestra, those waving hands brought a melody of death.

How could death catch up to such a person.

  Was he not invincible.

As if spitting in his face, in the next second, all of Gale's thoughts and illusions, all of his misconceptions were swatted, as he watched what unfolded.

Uncle Han suddenly spat out blood.

He dropped his head, to see the head of a spear stick out of his chest.
