Chapter 9 : Silhouette

And then, with great speed again, Alaric, dashed towards Leoric and the debris of the tower surrounding him, he readied his sword to swing, lighting it with fire.

And as he did, Leoric blocked the swings of his enemy, but Alaric, didn't stop there, he kept using fire. And as their swords clashed, Alaric's word's fire trail lit his surrounding on fire. Then with one swing, he created a massive wall of fire between them.

Leoric, seeing the silhouette of his enemy, thought 'that silhouette... I know it, it can't be...' his mind was racing with thoughts, until, he remembered that day, 9 years, when he was 11, and Annora, was 12.

It was like any other day, spending it with their father, until the humans raided them, he was caught up in debris, just like this one, he and annora, hiding with their father, who had the sword, leoric now wields.

And as they thought they were safe, a silhouette on the other side of the fire wall appeared, it was the same as the silhouette Leoric's current enemy has, the same stance, the same sword, the same cape, all of those, they were the same.

And then, in an act of defending his sons, Leoric's father, jumped through the wall of fire, trying to defend his sons. Leoric and Annora, were left alone, as they watched the silhouette of their father fight with the silhouette of the human knight, they left eventually, fighting some where else.

After a while, Leoric and Annora were rescued, the news were broken to them, their father was slayed, as he was killed by the knight.

Now, in the present, Leoric, looks at the silhouette

"what's your name, human?" Asked leoric.

"why do you need it? Elf?" Responded Leoric's enemy

  "for personal means." leoric said,

  "it's Alaric"

"Alaric? Is it now? You..." said Leoric, his voice clearly filled with ragd, that resided in him for what seemed to be eternity.

Then, with no patience left, Leoric dashed towards the silhouette of alaric, his sword ready to fight, and as he appeared from the wall of fire, he swung his sword, from the ground up, but Alaric parried it, launching him up to the air, a great distance.

Leoric using his magic wings, flew towards Alaric, which was still ascending in the air, and with every clash of swords they had, Alaric went towards the clouds even more, he knew why that was, Leoric was trying to get Alaric to the Sacred skies, where dragons reside.

Knowing that Alaric won't be able to fight good there, leoric just kept going, sending him up even more. But just as he thought he was there. They heard a horn, a long sharp yet comforting call. Their swords were reduced to ashes, they knew what horn that was, it was the horn of a peace. A horn that when blown, stops a current battle when near it, by making weapons disappear, and making people vulnerable to death for a few minutes.

Then Leoric, and Alaric, were falling down now, they looked at each other while falling, they knew it wasn't the end of their battle, but they had nothing to do about it. Soon enough they fell down, each of them making a great impact, but now dying.

Alaric, stood up, and walked towards where the horn was blown, Leoric was walking beside him, not too far, but not too close. Leoric didn't care about the Peace Horn, he wanted to kill Alaric.

Then they reached the center of Odel, where the horn was blown, each of the knights stood by, watching each other's Frontline, Alaric walked past Annora, and faced him, since he was the commander of humans in this fight.

"greetings human, I assume you're their leader?" said annora.

"I am, at least for now" Responded Alaric

"I know you probably won't accept, but I have to offer it, it's our standards, peace"

"i... I" Alaric was stuttering, but just as he was about to accept. A voice yelled, it was the king of Adelaide.

  "No, we don't accept"

"everyone looked towards him, as he was on a cart, that was getting dragged by horses.

"king of Adelaide, I accept your answer, but that doesn't mean we'll continue fighting you.

Alaric, was angry to say the least, he knew the war was useless, and not worth it. He walked away, towards the gates of Odel, his cape swaying by the air, his arms going from side to side.

And as he reached near the cart

"listen here, you disgrace of a knight, you dare use magic, I'll have to talk to you later." said the king, his tone one of disappointment, and pure hate.

But Alaric, didn't care, he knew that using magic wasn't a disgrace at all, and then, the humans walked back to Adelaide, and the Daegal knights with them, everyone was on their horses, except Alaric, he walked back to Adelaide.
