I arrived home, feeling the weight of the day's events. Outside the house Mystia was already busy prepariand, setting up the grill and ying out the necessary tools. The faint smell of grilled fish filled the air, and for a moment, I almost fot about the minor disaster earlier.
She looked up as I entered, and the first thing she asked was, "Did you get the permit?"
My heart sank as I realized that I had pletely fotten about the permit. I had been so caught up with the children, the lesson, and my little magic trick that I had left out the most important part. I opened my mouth to speak, but Mystia crossed her arms, her expression turning stern.
"You didn't...?" she asked, her voice tinged with frustration.
"I— I'm sorry, Mystia," I said quickly, feeling a wave of guilt wash over me. "I got distracted with the lesson... and I ended up fetting about the permit."
Mystia's wings drooped a little, and she let out a heavy sigh. "I 't believe this. I thought you were going to help me, and now we're back to square one."
I wi her words. I really had messed up. "I didn't mean tet..."
She paused for a moment, her face softening. "Well, I guess there's no use g over it. I'll just have to open my shop somewhere else. I heard there's a good spot along the Youkai Trail... It's far from the vilge, but maybe it's for the best."
Her words stung a little, and I couldn't help but feel the weight of my mistake. Mystia had worked so hard to get everything ready, and now it seemed like I'd ruined her pns.
"I'm sorry, Mystia," I said again, my voice filled with genui. "I'll make it up to you. I'll help you set up in the new location. Whatever it takes."
Mystia raised an eyebrow at me. "You sure about that? You're not just saying that to get out of trouble, are you?"
I shook my head quickly, feeling the siy in my words. "No, I'm serious. I'm going to help you. I'll make sure the shop is perfect!"
She seemed to soften at my words, though there was still a hint of frustration in her eyes. "Fine, fine... I'll hold you to that. Yoing to help me set up this stand and make it the best it be. No sg off, got it?"
I nodded, eager to do whatever I could to make things right. "Got it. I'll help you set up, make sure the ers e, and whatever else you need."
Mystia smiled, though there was still a little teasing in her expression. "Good. And no more fetting important things, okay? Now get to work, we've got a shop to run!"
I ughed, feeling a little relieved. It was clear that she wasn't mad at me for long, and I was determio help her make this new shop location a success.
With that, we got to work, moving everything we'd o the Youkai Trail aing up Mystia's stand. It wasn't the human vilge, but maybe this location would be better anyway. The path was well-traveled by youkai, and the new ers could make all the difference.
And as we worked, I kept reminding myself that I had one ake things right. I wasn't going to mess it up again.
