Linnet was going about her day at work which started fine as usual as she expected it to be another sunny day.

  Serving breakfast and taking orders from the customers of the local diner.

  As the pce got busy with them filling it she'd banter with her friend and other co-workers about what they hear from their customers as they talk.

  A lot of gossiping and ughter plus much more nonsense about everything that's going on in life.

  Until she heard the sound of rain drops pitter-pattering against the gss.

  Linnet stopped whatever she was doing at that time and stared at the street outside the diner for a while.

  Just watching the surface getting washed by the rain and the people walking there either picking up the pace or taking cover while cursing their bad luck since none of them was prepared for this sudden change in weather conditions.

  'So that's why he took an umbrel?' She thought while feeling a bit saddened by the fact that Bryan wasn't try to impress her or anything like that.

  Her mood took a huge fall afterwards and even her friend and co-workers noticed it but most of them attributed it to some kind of personal matter which is why they didn't ask and the rare ones who dared to ask tried to cheer Linnet up once she answered : "Nothing." while putting a fake smile on her face before getting herself busy with work.

  It was around three or four in the afternoon when everyone noticed her mood shift once again but going upwards instead.

  That's when Bryan actually stepped inside the diner while folding his umbrel after stomping his shoes.

  The first thing Linnet noticed was him wearing different clothes especially the coat which looks brand new and quite expensive for someone who lives next to her room in that shitty building.

  One of his hands was carrying a few bags with different logos of famous clothing and shoes brands which he put on the seat of an empty table before taking his seat but his eyes never left the screen of his phone from the moment he entered.

  "I'll take that one," Linnet gestured for her friend to rest this one out and quickly moved towards her neighbor's table, "So... what do you fancy?" She said with a smile while leaning on the table with one arm.

  Her friend gawked once she saw the friendly and seductive way she's treating this customer which isn't one of their regurs, matter of fact this is the first time she saw this guy in the diner.

  'Even if he's handsome... this girl is totally hitting on him! Is this fellow rich or something?' Her friend thought while watching Bryan slowly take his eyes off the screen and look up.

  "I'm hungry." He said while putting his phone on the table which caused Linnet to frown once she glimpsed some of the details on the screen but she didn't want to be seen as being rude which is why she handed him one of the menus but Bryan didn't even look at it and shook his head.

  "What do you want to eat?" She kind of understood that he doesn't want to search the menu himself and attributed it to him being zy.

  "Meat. Sad. Dessert." Bryan paused for a moment then added : "Let's start with the sad and some juice while the kitchen prepare the meat, give me some steak first and mix the variety of meat options in the second course then if there's some appetite left in me I might ask for a different order before I choose what kind of dessert I'm having. Also do you serve seafood?"

  Linnet raised an eyebrow while looking at him before asking : "Didn't you say that you don't have enough money in the morning? How do you pn to pay for all of that? You better not be counting on me because I don't earn that much working my ass off all day!"

  *Bfft*

  From the back her friend couldn't hold back her ughter once she heard that then quickly twisted her neck to look away but she could feel Linnet's eyes gring towards her.

  Bryan smiled but once he was about to speak another notification tune rang and his attention was directed towards the screen which brightened with a congratution message of him winning a number which amounts to Linnet working two or three years in this diner.

  Her eyes widened from shock once she saw it and she couldn't help but lean forward to take a better look while gawking once she witnessed him confirming the receival then opening a different app which had his own bank account.

  'Holy shit! He's so rich!' Linnet thought while completely ignoring that she's so close to him that her friend was amused by how the two of them were acting.

  Bryan found it a bit uncomfortable when Linnet kept intruding into his privacy as if it's a normal thing to do and decided to lock his screen for now while saying : "Don't you have work to do?"

  "This isn't over!" Linnet groaned inwardly once her curiosity wasn't satisfied but she accepted the reality of the situation and walked away while thinking to herself : 'At least he can pay for his own food.'

  "The seafood?" Bryan asked.

  Linnet didn't even turn her back and said : "Jumbo Shrimp, Lobster rolls, Tuna fillet, Anchovies paste, and Cm soup."

  "Bring me some of everything with the sad and double the portions since I've been eating since early in the morning but the hunger doesn't seem to be going away." He said before returning to being busy with his phone.

  "Who is he?" Linnet's friend asked while shoulder bumping her as she snuck a gnce towards Bryan.

  "Why? Curious much Ry!" She smirked while pushing the kitchen door open and Riley was quick to follow after her as she expected.

  Riley nudged Linnet with a shoulder while smiling : "Yeah. Of course I am. Spill it out!"

  Linnet wrote the list of orders then handed the paper to one of the kitchen staff and went back to the dining area and leaned on the counter watching Bryan for a moment before leaning to whisper in Riley's ear : "He's my neighbor. The one I told you about in the morning."

  "I see..."

  Linnet looked at Riley and squinted her eyes while saying : "What do you have going on in that devious mind of yours?"

  Riley shrugged her shoulder, "Nothing." She said while smiling cunningly.

  "Girl... you better spit it out or you're going to be in world of trouble and you know it!" Linnet was rubbing her palms while acting all evil like which caused Riley to feel a cold shiver on her spine once she saw the look in her friend's eyes.

  "Alright. Alright." Riley took a step back while adding : "He's hot! Clearly you too are interested in him after his chivalrous act, and now he's here out of all pces to check up on you loaded with all that stuff after he went shopping. He's flexing!"

  *Hmmm*

  Linnet fell silent for a short while and hummed then went to take the tray from the kitchen and started to fill Bryan's table with an array of ptes.

  "Thanks." Bryan said while taking a fork then started tackling the bowl of sad but his other hand was already reaching for the shrimp pte where he snatched one and tossed in his mouth.

  Linnet giggled once she heard him moaning from delight while chewing on the food, "Enjoy your meal." She said before leaving him to eat in peace.

  Luckily for her the weather outside was getting worse with the rain pouring heavier without a sign of it stopping or relenting any time soon which caused the diner to welcome less customers than she expected today.

  Besides serving drinks to the few people inside occupying the tables in the dining area, most of what she and Riley did for the following hour was cleaning after the ones who left or clearing Bryan's table of the empty ptes and repcing them with steamy and delicious food.

  But what surprised the two girls the most was seeing Bryan actually eating everything they put in front of him like a starved ghoul from the depth of hell.

  Even some of the kitchen staff were having trouble believing that a single person could really eat that much food until they left the kitchen to take a look for themselves!

  Once things got dull in the diner Linnet asked Riley to handle things while she take a break then went to join Bryan and sat across from him on the table.
