(The Lily is My Mate)

“Yippeee…at last…huhn..” Megan giggled, stepping down from the plane, alongside Oscar, who was pulling their luggage.
“Are you really excited to be here?” Oscar asked, smiling broadly
“Sure…who won’t be? You know..life as a celebrity is choking. Right now, I’m free from concerts, appointments, the paparazzi, and all that. People here don’t know me that much..” She stated
Oscar scoffed
“Seriously…who doesn’t know Megan the rapper? Babe, don’t say that. And you will need to wear this….take a look at that couple over there; they are staring weirdly at you. Perhaps they recognize you” He stated, handling her, a face cap. She took it, wearing it over her head.
“Let’s get out of here…I already booked an apartment for us in an expensive hotel” he whispered into her ear. She bit her lips, blushing
“Come on Oscar, you are such a darling..” She pecked his lips as he deepened the k**s. He gave it a slight peck before letting go. And just then, his eyes caught the sight of Violet coming out of the plane, she winked at him.
“Erm…babe…come on..let’s leave..our ride is here.” He stated, holding her hand as he pulled her away from the direction of where Violet was standing.
“Ok”

Lazarus and Celeste appeared in a fancy-looking house. She gasped slightly, leaving his hand, as she took a step forward.
“That was fast…I still need to learn a lot from you, brother…” She stated, walking around
“Where is this place?” She asked, admiring the lovely furniture in the room as she felt it with her hand. Lazarus watched her from behind, as Logan walked in from the back door.
Celeste was oblivious to his entrance; she was still marveling at how fancy the building is. She dropped her bag on the couch and decided to check around.
“I will just check out the whole house bro..” She stated, going further into the building
“Is that your Lil sis?” Logan asked, walking towards Lazarus. He nodded, slumping on the couch. Logan nodded
“Thanks,” Lazarus muttered as he was about to take a step forward. He turned to face him
“Why are you thanking me” Logan asked
“For agreeing to let her stay here…I got no other place in mind to keep her..she is the only family I got”
“No, she is not” Logan snapped, making him arch his brow
“No?”
“Yes…because I’m also family..come on dude…you shouldn’t be thanking me. I’m also like a brother to you…huhn” Logan winked. Lazarus chuckled, and just then Celeste came back.
“Brother…you gotta check out the kitchen it’s….erm….” She paused seeing the strange guy
Logan smiled and waved at her, he stood up and walked to the cellar. She was too shocked to even reply to his greetings, she directed her gaze back to Lazarus, giving him that ‘who the hell is he’ look
Lazarus stood up from the couch and walked towards her

“Meet Logan…my friend…he owns the house” He stated, as she muttered an ‘ohh’, returning her gaze back to him. Logan came forward with a wine and two glasses in his hand. He dropped it on the center table before facing her
“Hi…I’m Logan….and you are….”
“Celeste” She replied in a calm voice. He stretched his hand forward for a shake as she shook it.
“Erm…I will just give you both a chance to talk and..erm..show you to your room later” he stated and left
Celeste turned to face Lazarus
“I need to leave now” he muttered before she could ask any question. Her eyes popped out
“You…you are leaving me alone with him…..”She shuttered
He nodded
“He is my friend…he can be trusted Celeste, you have nothing to fear”
“But what if he finds out that I am a …”
“He is a vampire…not human” He cuts in, as she breathes a sigh of relief
“He also knows about you….and one thing I also want you to know is that humans are not as dangerous as you think, they are the weaker vessels. Though being in their territory is risky, but if you play safe, they will never find out about you.” He advised as she nodded her head. He placed a soft peck on her head before turning to leave
“He will be back to show you to your room..have fun” He stated and went with the air

Lazarus’s POV
Appearing in a rustic forest, I breathed out a loud sigh, staring down at the ring on my finger. This ring isn’t the tracking ring; my hunch is telling me that Onyx is up to something; he thought I was a fool by thinking this was the right ring. I only did not want to waste more time with Deleon that was why I collected it.
Pulling the ring off my finger, I thought of the decision I was about to make. The image of the feather flashed in my mind, as I remembered where I had seen it. Yes, I saw it on her wrist, she is the lily. But why will the goddess be so harsh on me? Why would she put me in such a dilemma?
I can’t do this…I think the mission this time will be impossible.
I took off the ring and threw it to the ground, and immediately it broke off, bringing out lights, which brightened the forest. I believe hunters from afar would have seen it, but they will only do themselves bad by coming close because right now, all I taste for is blood. My fangs are gnashing, it hurts, and I need to calm the urge.
“Haahaahaa,” Onyx's voice echoed in the forest as he appeared in the light. I should have thought as much, this ring was fake
“Onyx” I gritted. He laughed out
“So…well..well…Lord Zarus…you decided to break the ring..at last” he chuckled
“The ring was fake, I noticed…what do you want Onyx”
“I want you to stay out of my way…..” He growled
“I thought you needed the lily….why are you doing this”
“Oh..that…my men are on it already…they will get her before you do” he winked
“Really?”
“Uhnh…oh…do you think I am that dumb? I know who she is to you, Lazarus..and this is my payback time. She is a lily, very dangerous, but her death wouldn’t have mattered. There are better ways we can get the beast off our boundary without sacrificing a lily. But because of who she is to you, then the sacrifice will commence. Next time Lazarus, you won’t tamper with what is mine…” he smirked
“I hate you Onyx…and trust me…I will kill you with my own hands” I gritted, as fire began to erupt from my hands. Onyx has succeeded in waking the beast in me. I yelled in anger, shoving my hand toward Onyx as balls of fire whipped out like a stray bullet.
Onyx's laughter increased as none of the fire had an effect on him; he wasn’t present in the forest. I was merely watching an illusion figure, which Onyx was communicating with.
The light went off, but the fire in my hands still looms in the forest. I could hear the voices of hunters approaching my way. Before they could get to me, I launched at them, flipping their neck apart with my claws as my fangs fed on their blood. Within a period of 10 seconds, a total of five men were down, with their blood totally drained.

Not caring to turn back to my human form, I teleported back to the house. The duo were oblivious of my presence, they were at the dining table, having their meal. Logan felt my presence first, as he looked up towards my direction. Celeste noticed his mood and followed his eye movement.
She stood to her feet, with her eyes having this shocked look
“Br..brother...?” She called, as I folded my fist. I believe that my eyes will be so red by now, considering the amount of blood I have taken in.
“I need to go look for her…” I muttered walking closer to them. I could see the panic in Celeste's eyes. It’s been a long time since she saw me in this mood. I consider this mood a dangerous mood, and anyone who crosses my path is done for.
I began to transform back to my normal self as I walked further.
“I won’t be back in a while. I need to find the lily before Onyx gets to her. He has a bad motive and will use it against me; against us. He has sent his men to go look for her” I breathed in, taking her into an embrace. She hugged me back
“Stay safe…” I whispered to her hearing. I turned to face Logan
“Please save her from danger…Onyx might come to visit soon. He is a dangerous vampire with black magic. I trust you would handle him, and keep my sister safe. I’m relying on you this time Logan” I stated, as he nodded
“Trust me to keep her safe” he stated.
Lazarus nodded as he took steps backward, changing back to his vampire form. He muttered a spell as a portal suddenly appeared, revealing his destination. He turned back to look at the duo as they watched him with peering eyes.
“The lily is my mate…she is human….” He muttered to Celeste as she gasped in shock. He didn’t wait for her to reply as he entered the portal; it closed just after he vanished into it.
