Chapter 37: Ares

In the Watchtower, before everyone set off for Mount Olympus.

Viktor walked behind Batman, his hands tucked into his pockets, his head lowered as if deep in thought.

Batman spoke first, his voice still deep and hoarse, without turning around.

"We leave in five minutes. Say what you need to say now."

Viktor paused for a moment, looking at Batman's back.

"Over the past few days, I've gone through various channels and learned quite a bit about your team's operations. You've never abandoned a single teammate."

Viktor's voice is calm but firm.

"The League has only been formed for two years, but you've shown this trust in every one of your comrades."

Batman's steps didn't stop as he continued walking toward the nding pad.

  Viktor's brow furrowed slightly.

"The Greek gods specifically insisted that I go in alone."

Viktor's tone shifted as he fshed a pyful smile.

"If Ms. Prince comes out unscathed, it seems like a win-win deal for Earth—using a newcomer like me, an alien who's only been here for a few days, to secure peace with Olympus."

As soon as he finished speaking, Batman finally stopped walking.

He slowly turned around, his eyes sharp like an eagle's under the dim light, glowing coldly as they locked onto Viktor.

The air between them seemed to freeze, leaving only the faint hum of the ventition system.

He raised his head and met Batman's gaze without flinching.

  ...

In the pza in front of the Olympus temple, Zeus's words carried the weight of divine power as if they could freeze the very air.

Viktor looked at Zeus, a figure who had left legends in multiple worlds, and suddenly let out a mocking ugh.

"You want my body, but how will you prove that your divine power and magic are worth putting on the other side of the deal?"

Diana's face changed instantly, and she instinctively opened her mouth to intervene. She knew Zeus's temper all too well.

Zeus could not tolerate being disrespected.

However, Viktor's words were not only a clear rejection but a btant challenge to the King of God's authority.

To Diana's surprise, Zeus didn't get angry. Instead, he stroked his beard, and a pyful glint appeared in his eyes.

"Then, how do you propose to prove it?"

Viktor raised his hand, his finger pointing directly at Ares, who was already struggling to contain his bloodthirsty aura himself.

"I know nothing but battle and conquest. Since you want to set seven trials, how about I make the terms? You pick seven gods to take turns and fight me until one of them can defeat me."

Ares was stunned for a moment, then seemed to hear the greatest joke.

"You foolish mortal, you dare challenge me? Do you know that even though the human world is retively peaceful now, I can still draw power from wars, and my strength is beyond anything you can imagine!"

He took a step forward, and his thorned armor began to glow with a deep red light, and a twisted, powerful force spread out, making the stone floor of the pza tremble slightly.

"The concept of war is never limited to the battlefield. Moreover, all the powers reted to war that have flowed throughout history flow through my veins, including those nuclear bombs designed to prevent war."

Ares's voice suddenly rose, filled with a suffocating pressure.

"Do you know how many nuclear weapons those self-destructive humans have created so far? The lowest threshold of power within me is the combined total of all the nuclear weapons designed, used, and stored on Earth!"

Athena's expression shifted slightly as she exchanged a gnce with Hephaestus standing beside her.

Without a word, Athena sheathed her spear, and Hephaestus lifted his massive hammer. Together, they stepped back and quickly vanished into the shadows of the temple.

Since Victor's daring words, Zeus didn't speak, but the lightning patterns on his golden robe flickered faintly, his gaze cold as he watched Ares eagerly approach Viktor, showing no sign of stopping him.

Viktor's feet slightly lifted off the ground as his body slowly floated upward, and his cold eyes looked down on the approaching Ares.

"Then let me offer you a concept in return. The combined military power of Earth that you boast about is nothing more than a perfect pce for vacation and rexation in the concept of my race."

Ares's steps suddenly froze, and there was a look of disbelief in his eyes.

"Where is your race? A nameless nobody dares to talk about racial glory!"

Before his words could finish, Ares's pupils suddenly shrank, and his body convulsed violently.

In an instant, he lost track of Viktor's figure. The speed exceeded every limit of his divine perception.

  "Where?!"

Ares roared, his power surging as crimson energy formed a massive barrier around him, enveloping his body.

  "Right here."

The cold voice came from behind Ares. Before he could react, a powerful punch nded solidly in the center of his back.

  "Crack."

A sharp, crispy sound echoed as Ares's spine snapped instantly, and his thorned armor caved in under the force, and he was sent flying, crashing into the stone pilr of the temple.

The thick marble column shattered into pieces from the impact.

Viktor dove rapidly, closing the distance to the flying Ares in an instant.

He grabbed his ankle and then, spinning his body, twisted and smmed him back to the ground.

  "BOOM!"

The sound was like a nuclear explosion, amplifying tens of thousands of times, so powerful that even Wonder Woman, in the distance, grimaced and covered her ears in pain.

Zeus silently observed the entire scene, his gaze still as deep as ever, making it impossible to tell what he was thinking.

The sound of explosions echoed through the pza, with the stone tiles being shattered into pieces, and debris and dust filled the air.

Before the dust even had time to settle, Viktor grabbed Ares by the arm again and lifted him up, hurling him toward the sky.

Then, in the blink of an eye, Viktor teleported and caught up with Ares again, nding another heavy punch to his chest.

Ares screamed in agony as he was tossed from the sky to the ground, then back up again.

  The thunderous impacts were relentless.

Each collision was followed by the sound of bones breaking and a violent explosion. The pza was completely destroyed with deep craters scattered all over the ground.

In this moment, Viktor didn't hold back and didn't need to worry about the destruction around him.

Viktor's face was expressionless as he relentlessly focused on his opponent.

After a satisfying and relentless barrage of blows, Viktor grabbed Ares's helmet and crushed the helm into a distorted shape.

Then Viktor pushed all the power inside his body to the maximum. He shot straight up into the sky like a rocket and began accelerating without hesitation.

He didn't have to worry about any consequences, and destroying the entire structure of a pnet was acceptable.

Viktor's flight speed surged, surpassing Mach 45 within ten seconds—far exceeding his own limits and reaction speed.

The high-speed flight created powerful shockwaves and heat waves, tearing apart the pza, forming glowing red-orange psma balls as the intense heat and friction ripped through the ground, creating massive cavities.

The distant smoke and heat swept over the entire temple area.

Ares, gripped in Viktor's hand, could no longer scream in agony.

Under the extreme friction and heat, Ares's body and armor began to melt together, and only half of his head remained stuck to Viktor's hand.

Viktor's face hardened as he casually tossed aside the grotesque remains.

Despite the overwhelming pressure from the rapidly increasing speed, Viktor gritted his teethand fought against the tearing pressure.

He made a sharp, wide turn, his body shooting through the air like a bolt of bck lightning, heading straight toward Zeus.

Ares was dead, but Zeus still hadn't made a move.

This confirmed to Viktor that Zeus was using all his strength to suppress the space around them and couldn't spare any more power.

As Viktor rushed toward him, Zeus snorted coldly, his voice carrying a chill.

"You are far too arrogant. Ares was only the first."
