Chapter 60- Sinners

"He's mad, Cole." Envy sighs, "You killed two sins, two fucking sins! It doesn't matter how much you apologize; he wants you dead." "You can't just talk to him?" Cole pleads. "No... He doesn't care about why you did it, just that you did do it." Envy expins. The three of us sit around the charred remains of yesterday's fire. I can't help but stare deep into the pit of this fire, the deep, dark center of what remains. Envy's presence gives me a strange feeling, a feeling of worthlessness or a type of guilt. It's something along the lines of those two, but... It's hard to really tell. "I was his best soldier! Maybe if he knew it was me, he'd make an exception." Cole says. "He knows it's you, he just doesn't care!" Envy replies, “And besides, best doesn't mean strongest, Cole. Hades couldn't care less about loyalty; he only cares for strength.” The two's argument goes right in through one ear and out the other. I stopped listening a good minute ago and now... I guess I'll wait until either a fight breaks out or Envy flies off. From what I’ve truly, truly listened to, we may be dealing with the tter. I might as well just kill Envy right here. No, I’d die. He is a sin after all, and Pride kicked my ass. Makes me wonder, if I lost to Pride, what’s Hade’s like? The king of hell, a fucking god! “I think we’re done here,” Envy says, his voice sharper than before and his fists clenching. He raises his posture, the top of his head just over Cole's, despite being shorter than him. In one way or another, Envy's above us, truly above us... “Why? Because you’re scared to talk to your precious little Hades?” Cole says through gritted teeth. Cole’s fists clench as he lifts himself off the log we id to sit on. He stands over Envy, his rge presence looming over the area. “Caleb, get my sword if you so please,” Cole tells me. “Fine.” I sigh, hoisting myself from the ground. Dirt covers my pants, and specks of charcoal cover the bottom and sides of my shoes. Opening the tent, the first thing that meets my eyes is the bandit, next to him, a corpse... A fat, rotting corpse. On both sides of him are beds, and in the right corner is Cole’s sword, his wondrous bde we found off the body of a demon. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a cool sword, it’s just quite small for somebody as big as Cole. I grab the sword and hoist it over my shoulders; it’s heavy and quite warm. Quite a lot of simirities to Hilt’s sword... “What’s happening? Is there a fight!” The bandit excims. “Yeah, there’s a fight. There’s always a fight.” I sigh. “Let me watch! The boss never lets me do anything anymore. I’ll tell you Envy’s location if you do.” He says. “Thanks, I don’t think we need that information anymore. Maybe next time, though.” I tell him, purposefully raising my voice like I’m speaking to a dog. I step out of the tent, Envy sits on the floor, his eyes point towards the ground, but he still attempts to keep a high posture. Cole stands over him, most likely in an attempt to make Envy scared, but he sits there, calm, staring into what looks like nothing to me, but maybe, just maybe, something to him. Cole takes the sword from my hand, bde first. The sword leaves two small cuts on the ends of his palm, and thin streaks of blood drip down the sides of his sword. He grabs the handle with his other hand, removing the bloody one. I truly thought Cole wasn't willing to fight Envy, not from a strength standpoint, but because they seemed like good friends. They've probably known each other for hundreds of years, but today... One of them dies, and I won't let that be Cole! Cole lunges forward, his sword aimed straight for the left side of Envy's chest. The motion is quick, nimble, and artistic- like he's practiced this move before, lots of practice. But even still, Envy easily moves to the side, pushing Cole to the side, sending him straight into a tree behind him. I jump forward, in one smooth motion, my bde unsheathes and swings from left to right, lobbing the sin's arm off. Envy falls back, catching himself with his back foot before swinging his other arm and fist towards my face. It's too quick to dodge, too strong to ignore. The force of the blow sends my full body straight to the ground and shatter the bones in my cheeks. "Cole... You're strong but, you've got quite a temper, and if I'm being real, you're so predictable." Envy says, "And Caleb, right? I like your style, getting an arm that easy is admirable. Although, one arm isn't going to beat me." Envy holds the small stump left from his arm, a long, white bone shoots from the the end. Flesh slowly forms around it as skin soon follows. I sm my palms into the ground, using the full force of my arms to lift my body back up. Blood drips from my cheek, the pain is near unbearable, but that's a far enough near for me! I lift my bde towards Envy's face, the tip, from my view, pointed between his eyes. "Still fighting? Oh how I wish I could be like you Caleb..." Envy sighs, "How I Envy your spirit." Cole, in less than a second, faster than I can perceive, tackles Envy. The two fling into the tent, knocking it down covering them in the cloth that makes it. I rush towards them, slowly, or slower then they can move. Envy lifts himself and Cole up into the air, holding him by neck. Cole's hands wrapped around Envy's arms, cwing, and sinking his nails deep into him. Suddenly, a small arrow flies through the air, hitting Envy directly in the arm. His grip loosens from Cole's neck, dropping him. Cole nds the small drop and grabs Envy directly by the ankle, pulling him to the ground, causing a loud crash and a rge cloud of dust. As the dust dissipates, I can see Envy and Cole trading punches, each punch sends out a strong gust of wind. Even with Envy's skill, Cole is strong! I jump up into the air, above Envy's head, my sword held above mine. Right as I'm about to slice down, an arrow flies into Envy's head, moving it out of the way. My bde slides through Envy's arm, splitting it in half vertically. A kick nds on my ankle, tripping my as Envy swings his leg into my face.
