Chapter 1

  Rain clashed down from above, quickly flooding both empty fields and clustered cities a-like. Roaring thunder boomed across the sky, far away and directly above, and also beneath the ground. Incessantly, lightning clapped down, dust drifting up like miniature mushroom clouds. Roughly, the wind plucked leaves off branches they hung off of, leaving the rest of them to thrash about before making the decision to stay put or to join their siblings taken by the harsh gusts.

  Yet again, another world was massacred by the Storm. Olympia gazed down at the decimated planet, once again powerless to stop the destruction as it ravaged every inch of land it came across. Sonette stood close behind her, a puppet recently reprogrammed to respond, yet for now that was not in any of its interests. Belox - her spaceship (which resembled more of a house) - drifted just beyond the surface of the last clouds of the world, ready to make the next rift jump. The next mission was the same as it was always, find the next planet to try and save from total annihilation, and finish the Storm.

  For a brief moment grief sprinkled itself in Olympia’s eyes, but fate was not something to be upset over for long periods of time. Without sparing another glance, she transmitted the order to complete the rift jump and to arrive at her next mission.
