Chapter 1: Attachment

  BACKSTORY:

  In the world where ghouls exist. There was one that stood above all. The Ghoul King. Twenty years ago as a human he challenged ten thousand ghouls to the death out of rage. While still standing he killed every ghoul in his way. Crowned Mara, King Of Ghouls he suffocated himself in special ice letting him rest enough time for the next era to emerge.

  SCIENTIFIC LAB

  “You know why I started working here to begin with? It was to find out these weird abilities that are gifted to us humans, you know I found it strange when he was sent here”. A doctor walking said. “It can’t be that strange, I mean everyone is bounded to have these incidents. One way or another it will happen”. Another tall man said. “No no, this isn’t normal. They don’t happen like this normally…”. The doctor replied. They kept walking together down the hall until they met the room 401. They were at level 7 of the hospital, it was huge. Compacted with different room subjects for different reasons. Each level had different stuff to offer or treat. They both walked in. Striking a pose on the bed is a young boy with black curly hair with school clothes. “Wakey wakey Kuro, we have business to talk about” The tall man said as the doctor sat down. “What..? Who are you!?!? How did I get here”. Kuro said. “I’ll explain everything from top to bottom, my name is Haki. I’m the current leader at Takayori High School. You were sent here because you beat up a kid in twelfth grade. However you were only brought in because a spy told us you were able to manifest special powers during your fight.”. Haki explained. “Powers? What powers!?”. Kuro replied. The doctor showed a computer with information as Haki directed to it. “This is what it is, special abilities which every human since they are born with. However never fully manifested unless bounded to generational blood, the ancient blossom tree, emotional breakage and true fighting spirit. It seems your fighting spirit must awakened somehow. That’s what we’re trying to test, doctor was also testing on you earlier”. Haki said

  “TESTING!?”. Kuro said questioning. “Don’t take it the wrong way, we just need to know what you are actually dealing with. Our system is telling us you possess a power such as… Actually we can’t really tell, from right now it’s unknown. Which isn’t a major problem but we honestly don’t know what it is.So right now we need to keep you with us. It would be far too dangerous to keep you as you are. Your skills and knowledge will be of good use there, you will meet other people too”. Doctor said. “It’s not a suggestion, it’s final by the government as well. By my hand I will lead you to victory Kuro.”.

  THE MISSION

  “Before we head there, the doctor and you will be assigned a special mission. He’s going to help you first to get started. I believe the place was called Monstruous Windsor Apartment. We have identified a high tier monster there”. Haki explained.

  APARTMENT

  Awaited them was the haunted apartment. “Hold on Kuro, we need to be careful. We’re gonna experience such things called as Ghouls. Said doctor. “Huh? A ghoul, what is that?”. Kuro said. “A ghoul is a evil spirit which acts after death”. He replied. Kuro was confused, “I don’t understand, how come I’ve never seen one before”. Kuro exclaimed. “Because you never manifested your ability until a couple days ago, normal humans can’t see them.”. The doctor explained. “Let’s see, I’m gonna clear the area on the bottom floor, I want you to take those stairs and look to see if any Ghouls appear. The report said they are about a Level 1 Threat, which was the perfect mission for you”. The doctor took the bottom floor as Kuro took the stairs. He walked up the steps and reached another floor, it was a corridor full of many doors side by side until the end. It was about eight doors and eight rooms. Is there really such things as ghouls… He kept walking past rooms but couldn’t hear anything. Until he reached the final room, there it was awaiting him. The ghoul. SHIT WHAT DO I DO, I DIDN’T GET TAUGHT ANYTHING… WHAT WAS THE LEVEL OF IT AGAIN, UMMM….. OH. ONE, IT CAN’T BE THAT HARD RIGHT? “Is that thing going to attack me”. As he looked over at it, he looked at it’s paws. Those paws.. they look like the paws of a dog. The ghoul growled at him before clawing at the ground. He was about to attack. Kuro moved slightly to the left. The ghoul launched at him barely missing and smashing the door open. Shit! What should I do. There weren't many options. The ghoul came again and again,again and again. It came again barely missing his chest and tearing a hole in his shirt. “Fuck, what the hell is this thing!”. Kuro screamed. Kuro moved to the left twice before stepping forwards with great speed attacking the Ghoul. He punched the Ghoul through a hole. He ran after it and stepped on it a couple times before throwing it to the wall again. The ghoul got up and rushed at Kuro, launching him through another wall putting him onto the ground. It got ready to attack again. Shit this fucking thing, I need to get up quick and kill it. Kuro dodged it while picking up a knife through the cabinet he fell down next to. He launched and sliced the ghoul. He then threw his knife away and punched the ghoul as it tried to claw him. The ghoul slowly stopped moving. Enough damage was dealt to stop it from moving. I heard footsteps. Shit, another ghoul? It came closer. “Yo!”. The doctor came walking by. Kuro had hid himself preparing for another battle. He was relived. “Oh my, it’s just you, geez”. Doctor looked at the ghoul. “Damn son, nice one. I didn’t think you’d be able to do it that easily”. He said to Kuro. “THAT EASILY? IT ALMOST BIT MY HEAD OFF”. He said yelling at the doctor. “But it’s weird though, this ghoul right here ha- huh? I swear I defeated it right here, where did it go???”. Kuro asked. “No, you’re not imagining it, I just saw it now. When a ghoul is dead its corpse will rot away, roughly a minute until it does”. The doctor explained. “Oh I see, what now?”. Kuro asked. “That ghoul dropped the thing we need, the red flesh is called Ghoul flesh. It’s a material needed for Seriyu’s project.”. Doctor grabbed it as the ghoul was rotting. Bzzzzzzzzz, the doctor's phone rang. “Hello Seruyi?”. He answered. “It’s been about an hour since I sent you with Kuro, have you gotten the item?”. Seriyu asked. “Yes, we’ve acquired it. Let me just.”. The doctor replied by putting on his video cam.”. “Oh yea, I see it now. Head home quickly before night Ochida, the last thing we need is all those ghouls on you guys.”. Seriyu said as he ended the call. “What exactly is this thing he wanted”. Kuro asked Ochida as they both walked down. Ochida turned his head. “Like I said before, ghoul flesh. It’s the flesh inside what makes a ghoul. Our mission since a week ago was to collect enough to finish the project. According to Seriyu it will allow us to create an object which can see the energy of curses more accurately.”. Kuro understood.

  HEAVEN’S JUDGEMENT

  The sound of footsteps. One, two, three, four. They reached the gates. Ochida opened the gates, a long brush of air flushed through them. Kuro stood stationary. “So what is this place”. As Kuro looked to the sign on the schools walls. Ochida replied. “This is Heaven’s Judgement. An ancient school which traverses back a century ago. Now standing it’s the primary school for training students to evolve their techniques. Like you”. He explained. “How does class start here then if it’s a school?”. Kuro asked. “You’ll have to ask these questions to Seriyu. We don’t know much about it. I’m just the main doctor here, here’s the front gate. Make sure to head to reception and ask for Seriyu”. The doctor exclaimed giving him a pat on the back as he opened the door for him. A couple seconds later and then he closed the gate and disappeared.

  Kuro walked forwards. There was a hall-way infront of him and reception to the left, he also saw a gym to the gym which interested him. He went right over to reception. The girl working there had brown long hair and was wearing glasses. “How can I help you sir?”. She asked him. Kuro thought about it for a bit and then answered. “Uhmmm, so I’m here for Seriyu. We met before and he told me i’m a new student”. She looked confused for a bit. “New student huh”. She said as she went through her computer. It was most likely the data based of every student. She searched in a fast way jamming her fingers on the keyboard. “Ohhhh! I found you. You’re Kuro Tokomi. Yeah I see he just accepted you a couple hours ago. Your in Class A and Seryi is your standard teacher. Here’s a school card. It shows your age, height, country of residence and most important your technique. Also for consideration since your new if you do not have a technique yet it will just display as Unavailable. There’s also a rank which Seriyu will tell you about”. She said to Kuro. “So where exactly is Seriyu and Class A”. Kuro asked her. She got out of her chair and stepped out to the main hall-way. “Go straight forwards turn left, go right and you’ll see the three classes. They have a label on each. Find A and then meet Seriyu. Class has already ended for today so I don’t think anybody will still be around besides that bum”. She said explaining to me. Kuro was shocked by her statement. He never met someone who would talk badly about a teacher here. Kuro walked until he reached the class. He opened the door slowly. Kuro peeked through seeing if anybody was there. “Ah you’re already here I see, here… sit on the couch”. Seriyu said. Damn really, they have a couch in a classroom? Kuro sat down grabbing the water bottle Seriyu handed him. “What’s all this stuff on the wall?”. Kuro asked. “Don’t worry about that yet, I’ll teach you about that stuff tomorrow. Tomorrow marks the first learning session!!!”. Seriyu said laughing. Is something wrong with him, I swear he acted more professional back at the lab. “I never got to know who you really are though, I kinda just got pulled into this mess”. Kuro said to him. Seriyu laughed again. “I’m Seriyu Tokomi. I’m the grand teacher of this place. The other classes B and C also have a teacher. But the stupid leaders didn’t have enough teachers for this class so I kinda just stepped in. You came here because you were in an altercation at school and someone suspected you were using elemental energy”. Seriyu explained. “Elemental energy?”. Kuro asked him. “It’s the energy source people possess. However it’s hard to manifest for the average human. I’m surprised the doctors tests we’re able to find out you even had one. For now I don’t think you can use it yet. But that’s fine… tomorrows training session will teach you all about it”. Seriyu said. “You should meet the rest of class A before coming in tomorrow. Here’s my card if you need it”. Seriyu handed Kuro his card. It had all the information about him and where to find him. Even his email address. “Well thanks seriyu!”. Kuro said as he headed off. Geez, how am i gonna explain why i’m late to my frickin parents…
